Yup we put in a great performance one day and the very next play half arsed with little intensity. Maybe that title race with Liverpool took more out of both teams physically and mentally than we thought. Pool have been grinding out results and we look incapable of consistent good results.
You've got to question Pep's ability to motivate a side that won everything last season. SAF always said that the first thin he looked at in pre season was te desire from players who ad already won the season before.

The desire seems to be there from one or two but lacking in others

Perfect match for Spurs, Red Star are a very poor team. Would they beat Watford I wonder?

Ndombele has been so, so good tonight. The ability is so clearly all there, wonderful carrier of the ball, great vision and technically brilliant all round.

Just gotta seriously improve his engine (which is lacking) and work on stuff like his positional discipline, and we have a serious CM at the club.

Yeah I was surprised at how unfit he has looked previously. I’d bring GLC at half time or at least give him 30mins. Won’t get a better opportunity.

Wait until he's got Henderson's knobbly knees chasing after him on Sunday.

If we beat you on Sunday it really would change the whole completion of the league, is Salah back?

It’s a big IF right enough.
Yeah he's playing tomorrow. Trent & Matip are missing with knocks but should be fit as well.

We'll see if we pick up any knocks tomorrow.

Juve have not impressed me at all this season for a full game. Only bits and spurts. They just seem so bland and in cohesive in attack.

Yeah see it’ll be a problem. He’s struggling atm with the physical demands of the Prem (in terms of work rate) and that can lead to us being a bit flimsy in midfield.

It’s stuff we can work on though. We need to have a properly defined role for him in the team as well because against Brighton he was disastrous as a DM. Clearly a lot better in the opponents third.

Against you I can definitely see him struggling with the press.

Hardly just basing this on Red Star. I’ve seen it in every game for us, particular the first half vs Bayern, bits against Villa, Southampton etc. The guy can run with the ball and he can pick a pass, no doubt about it.

The problem is (bit of a cliche but there we go) that he is raw in terms of the discipline and fitness needed to thrive as a CM in the Prem.

What's happened to Zapata for Atalanta tonight btw? They've put Muriel on but he's not as good.
