Years ago, we mocked Liverpool for turning up to the cup final in cream suits. And we were also the kings of English football.

And yet nowadays our over hyped and deluded players have their own clothing brands.

Says it all.

Yep. Only really works if you’re a serial winner AND an iconic player. Beckham being a prime example.

Fierce is probably the last name Lukaku should have chosen for his brand

Really don't care about this though. All players have interests outside of football. The idea that you need to focus only on football is stupid.

JLings should retire from football so he can focus on rebuilding his clothing brand.
I'm shocked his clothing brand is doing poorly.

And that's not a knock on his dedication. There are more fun ways to burn through money. If you want a solid investment, why not stick your earnings in a simple fund and forget about it?

One gander at his website is all you need to understand exactly why he's just haemorrhaging money on this sad excuse for a brand.

Adding a shit name and an even shitter logo to generic george asda hoodies and t shirts is not gonna turn you into the next Ralph Lauren. Especially when you're a no mark z-list Prem footballer with no personal fanbase to speak of.

The aftershave is still the most desperate part of it. 'Smell like Lingz'. The cheapest tackiest looking box and bottle I've ever seen. £45 reduced to £16. Hilarious.

For a first year of business, they will be good numbers in the clothing industry.

Not suprising his brand isn't doing so good. It all looks like knock-off stuff you'd find on a market stall in Tenerife, at high street prices.

And he's just not popular enough to be pushing something with his name on it. Lukakus makes more sense because there's a level of detachment to it. He's not just called it "Rom's Garmz" or some shit.

Losing 200k in the first year are good numbers? Most would go bankrupt unless funded.

He would have been better off not having a daft name which associates heavily with himself, football is tribal, he's not good enough to get all United fans to buy his stuff, and everybody hates United so also womt buy his stuff.

I'd he designed some good stuff, gave it a name that wasn't his, he might have had a chance - the guy who started Hera was working in a call centre while starting his brand and he certainly didnt lose 200k in the first year.

My guess is that this clothing line is just an ego booster for Lingard, shame it's failing for him really but he shouldn't be surprised that it is.

No idea why he even bothers.

It's generic and dull as feck, I'd understand the logic behind it if Adidas came up and asked him if he'd be interested in doing a collection, but his own Jlingz clothing brand....christ.

Not that a £200k loss is substantial.

Looks like a pathetic Gus Fring.
Genius. Maybe the clothing company is just a front to launder the money he "earns" in football. His personal attorney being concerned that noone would believe that story. "It's all good, man."

I'm not surprised it made a loss because there's about 10 people on the planet that want to dress to that level of bellend and one of them is our number 10.

Are you the ref?
Damn, I changed my entire wardrobe so that I could look like a cut-price Jehovas witness. Are you telling me that I am not cool?

In fairness, his range just look like copies of a range from boohoo - with his marked up price. Pointless and irrelevant.

I think Lingard should take his clothing brand to the military. With his ability to turn invisible on the pitch he could help develop stealth technology and clothing

Losing money in your first year of trading is pretty standard
It is?

I wonder what the success rates are in the garment industry. I can't imagine margins are high unless you are a solid brand that people will pay hundreds for quid just to have a 5 pound tee with the Nike logo on it

There are quite a bit of startup costs depending on how much marketing and product you make up front

This. I mean, the likes of world class players like Zlatan (his brand tanked too actually) and Ronaldo releasing their own brands are completely fine and logical but who the feck wants anything branded JLingz?
