With the help of a bent ref, a suspect penalty and a freak free kick your old pros did scrape, foul and time waste their way to a narrow win against our brave kids.

Nah, we were shit first half, better second bit not good enough on the night.

McTom and Williams should both have been sent off though.

Don't do that.

Chelsea were decent tonight. They’re a good team. But tonight frank was just outclassed with his game management. He will learn from it and come back stronger.
Everybody says Frank is streets away of Ole in that regard... and that Ole is out of his depth.

Solskjaer’s best game as permanent manager. Tactics in the first half were spot on and we deserved the lead. You’d expect the home side to start strong second half, but we conceded only because of an individual error, and Solskjaer immediately mixed it up to give us back control with a switch from a back three to back four. Once Rashford scored an absolute worldie, we comfortably held on for the win whilst remaining a threat. Excellent stuff.

Rashford was top notch and has found some great form. feck all of you who treated him like absolute dirt. I’ve never been more wrong a player than Scott McTominay. He is playing like a senior pro and I love it. Williams looks more of a United player than Shaw does already.

Starting to play well again now, after a bit of a slump. Get Pogba back in December and add a couple of players in January and 4th is back on.

Seems a bit unfair to be negative, but can someone tell me what Fred is actually good at?

Weak in the tackle and he passes the ball like he hates his teammates. So technically poor.

Mctominnay is getting very very good. He bossed the middle today after being on a yellow card. Playing with Fred is like playing alone! Another chicken in the headlights game from him.

Good win. Not convinced with our chances created but 2 good goals. Positive run from James and what a free kick!

If we pick up a few more wins and get the confidence up, we should be much better when Pogba comes back.

Onwards and upwards. Back to the league now. Big game on the weekend. Win that and the team should have some serious momentum on their side (for a change).

Happy that Ole didn't go all youth with this one.
Fred was excellent today. He and McTominay have developed an understanding.

Best game I’ve seen Rashford have for ages too, and I’d say that even if he hadn’t scored.

Got to say Well Done to Ole. He did everything right bar making the subs a bit too late. You could see that Chelsea goal coming a mile off. We were being overrun in the midfield and couldn't keep hold of the ball. But in the end great management with the right subs. Periera especially was the right move. Good performance and great result. Rashfords Penalty was also a bit sht. If the keeper went the right way he would have saved it easy. But what a blinder of a free kick. Tonight he can dream of being Ronaldo for once. :)

What, you think Lingard deserves a place over Pogba?
No I think the profile of player Ole wants is hard-running and pressing and Pogba doesn't do it. The money for Pogba will buy players more to Ole's liking and we'll see a development of this style.

even when we don't look pretty going forward, we really have the ability to kill the opponent's gameplan. I don't remember any team playing brilliantly against us this season.
I really think Ole's work over the summer was to ensure we get better defensively. Unfortunately, we don't have enough clean sheets to show for it. One off goals that we have conceded are a bit worrying.

Someone needs to tell him it’s a cup game

Beautiful free kick from him.

I think we shut down teams better than Mourinho could have ever dreamed of as a manger. It's a shame we're not firing on all cylinders up front yet.

I see you're taking the loss well

It was a fairly even game, with 2 great goals. I thought it was a pen, but I can see why some didn't, particularly with James growing reputation as a diver. Clumsy from Alonso.

Could have gone either way, great goal to decide it though.

Rashford "great to get the 3 points":lol::lol:

It’s almost as if managers need longer than five minutes to build a team from the tatters left by previous managers.

I suspect we will have many more ups and downs before we get where we want to be, but I hope this little revival will stop some of the ‘he’s out of his depth / he’s a fraud’ disrespectful posts for a while.

Ole is a fighter and he proved with how he played the game that he wasn’t one to drop his head easily or give up. He deserves credit for what’s happened over the last 4 games from Liverpool onwards.

Impressed with William's, looks a better deal then Shaw. Some confidence returning and results improving will do that but injuries threatening to derail us once again.

Deserve a good draw but of course wont get one!
Agreed. Hopefully it's his shirt to lose now, and Shaw/Young are made to wait for their chance.

Got to admit when Rashford was lining that up, I thought not a chance but wow, what a spectacular free kick.

Not a competition I particularly care about but good to get the win. Hopefully we can recover and get onto the Bournemouth game on Saturday with some momentum.

Have you watched his other videos posted on YouTube? The kid has single digit IQ. He was just thinking going into this interview "I was the star of the show, what did they teach me to say when that's the case? Ah right 3 points"

McT was great again. Williams getting better and I thought even Fred did OK! We just look like a team for the first time in fecking ages.

Rashford's goal...incredible.

Also, what the feck is Gary Neville's problem. Williams kind of shoved CHO and he went over the hoardings and Neville was all "oooh he's a lucky boy, got away with one there"...then Jorginho elbows Young in the face and he quiet as a mouse.

He may go,he may stay.Only Pogba knows.

What we know is that he's quality with the hard running players around him. We'll see how we progress

I think he's actually pretty good at harrassing players and getting a foot in. Like a poor man's Kante. But yeah he's terrible on the ball.

Honestly yeah he does. Classic caf phrase of needing to bulk up a bit wouldn't do him any harm, but he looks a real prospect.

Neville doesn't have a problem, it was a yellow at worst, he was correct in his assessment

I’ll be the first to admit, I did not see that win coming... but I will gladly take it.

It seems the team is starting to figure a few things out. Gonna remain cautiously optimistic.

Anyone knows what was the allocation for United ? Why did they keep that one end closed behind the United goal in the second half
