Jokes aside, this is massive for our country.

The first black South African captain lifting the trophy for the team and sport that personified apartheid, during a very difficult time for our country.
Yep, it must be a great moment for your country. I work with quite a few of your countrymen/countrywomen and they say things are still a bit of a struggle back home so hopefully this win can do some meaningful good. Obviously a bit disappointed for England and my rugby loving mates back home, but if we had to lose I'm happy it's to you guys.

Fair play to South Africa, we had absolutely no respone to their game plan. Can't believe the basic errors though, particularly in the first half. It was just all going wrong from the first minute, Sinckler getting injured summed it up. Personally I thought it was a forward pass for their first try but I only saw 1 replay and presumably if it was actually forward, the TMO would have ruled it out. What on earth happened to our scrum

I hope the English media can go and eat some hearty humble pie now. The number of articles saying it was going to be one sided, SA were going to be thrashed, England's name already on the cup etc. from every pundit and journalist in the English media was seriously tiring.

Matt Dawson especially for stating he would only choose English players in a combined XV can f' off: https://www.bbc.com/sport/rugby-union/50246735

England were completely dominated in almost every facet of the game. So proud of SA.

Never again should we ever discount the importance of a coach. Think about where SA rugby was this time two years ago under Allister Coetzee and where they are now under Erasmus.

South Africa were immense in defence and absolutely destroyed England in the scrum. They played their game perfectly and at that their tempo. Lovely try to basically win the game and thoroughly deserved.

Oh, and feck Eddie Jones! Scum

Being half English and half South African has never been weirder... Got people sending me messages of congratulations and commiserations

Yeah that's a great story. Made up for South Africa.

And on the plus side from an English point of view it's nice not to be catfished by a world cup win into thinking that rugby is an exciting sport. Wasted plenty of hours bored out of my mind after 2003.

Small consolation is that if we weren't going to win it, South Africa would be my preffered choice. Wales/Ireland/Aussies - doesn't bear thinking about :D And it's boring if NZ win it again.

Coaching is everything in Rugby, people should always remember that a large part of the game is scripted. Pretty much all the rucks and set pieces are pre determined and it's obvious when a team is badly coached, you can see it for France or Australia who both have the players to be a lot better but haven't had good coaching and are incredibly messy in their way of playing the game.

Moving forward, this is still a young and exciting England team. A good scrum half and a WC back away from being a legitimate great team in my opinion.

So happy with the result, there's nothing worse than the English media. Also, Eddie Jones can feck off, dude looks like a ninja turtle.

Gutted for Sinckler today. WC final and having to go off after 3 minutes.

Yep for sure. You've made a lot of excellent upgrades in this cycle. 9 is the next crucial one and keep the form of the players who have broken through.

Well, he knows that he had no business officiating that game.
If Nigel Owens didn't do his calf last week, Garces wouldn't have been in charge of this. Apparently he's going to be head of French referees after this.

They're already a legitimately great team but yes Youngs isn't of the standard required. I think England will be grand in the 6 nations the next 2 years with Ireland and France heading into a transition phase. Scotland have regressed so only Wales are a threat currently I reckon.

2 years down the road will be interesting as Ireland have some serious talent coming through but Farrell needs to get a good attack coach and needs to be on the phone to James Lowe as soon as he becomes eligible.

Farrell needs to move on around 6 players immediately, get the new blood into the provincial set up as well.
