Happy with that. Not that it really tells us too much given how many changes were made. Williams and Greenwood were excellent from our young lads.

First half didn't happen. Completely steamrolled them in the second.

We are on a great run now. Good form on many of the players. Great time to support United - feels better than in years

Went for a longer shit at the beginning of the second half to commemorate our performance in the first half, came back, seen 4-0 and thought that somebody played some old match of ours.

Great scoreline so looks like a game not to moan too much but the performance was far from perfect especially in the first half. We played awful football and AZ was the better team in that first half creating all the chances. In the second, suddenly we scored 4 (there was a foul before second goal though) and the game was over in 10 minutes so it sweeps all under the carpet.

LVG was totally right. We're basically a counter attacking team under Ole now no matter who the opponent is. That works when we let the big teams have the ball, defend and counter them but when we have the ball it's just not good enough. And trying to play counter attacking football against teams that has better quality than you like City is OK but against the likes of AZ at Old Trafford; it is embarrassing.

Can't see what is so special about the young players we have either. Only Greenwood will make it here imo.

Still, we needed to win the group and we did it so well done to Ole & the players but that was a game that just papers over the cracks.

3rd win in a row, 4 goal, we look decent, good even. What the hell is happening?

What to say, Greenwood on 2 goals + penalty earned, Mata 1+2 assists, Young with a goal. Good stuff.

On a negative side, Matic player badly

5 mins into the 2nd half, the missus summonsed me to help her move some crap out for the bins/rubbish collection. Came back to 4-0. Watched 75 mins of rubbish.

Must try again.

Do you regret dumping your load that early?

Very good second half.

Loved Young's goal... A class team move that wasn't on the break.

Mason amazing.....

Really enjoyed that 2nd half.

Only disappointment, Mason didn't get a hat trick.

I feel bad for AZ really, but this is typical of them. A lot of possession without end product but a sort of fresh pluckyness, only to be completely bulldozed in the span of 5 minutes.

Boring 1st half followed by a near perfect 2nd half. Only disappointment was Greenwood not scoring a hat trick. Roll on Sunday v Everton.

So maybe giving youngsters a chance in Astana wasn't a mistake?

Really bad first half. AZ were sharp and looked like a good side. United were playing on treacle.....

The rest of it was damn near perfect. Whatever was said at half time did the trick. Sharper movement, quicker passing and our quality told.

Williams was very good, his best performance I felt. Greenwood giving more proof that he's going to be a superstar. Garner was okay. Tuanzebe was poor I felt. Not yet ready to step up and partner Maguire consistently.

Oh, and saturday will mark 4000 consecutive games. 4000!!! What an incredible football club this is

Please sell Matic, if possible. If not, give him away.
Winning with 10 players today.

The injustice of the second goal completely killed them

The contrast between 1st half and 2nd half. What the hell was happened? ...

And It's time for Matic to leave.

Out of the younsters, Greenwood and williams will make it.

Garner was poor especially in the first half. Got turned badly right at the start of the second half. He only started to play when we were three or four up. I have my doubts about him.

For all the negativity around Villa and Sheffield, this is now 5 games unbeaten with only the Astana game as a blip. We should have comfortably won that with the kids.
Plenty of positives to take. Negatives; squad depth is still a problem
