Feels like Griezman all over again. Player just use United to get a better deal, when he knows where he’s going already.

It sucks for us, but good for the player. I’d do the same if i were him.

When you see how badly Pogba has behaved in his 3 and a half years here - endless flirting with other clubs, stating he wants to leave frequently, half arsed performances in the pitch, injuries taking far longer to heal than ever should, mysterious flu symptoms.....You wonder is signing another Raiola client a good idea.
Stating he wants to leave frequently? He said ONE time “it may be time to try something different” dont exagerate.

I’m with the don’t need him clan. And EVEN if he is a success and scores, after 2-3 years people will see him similar to how Lukaku was viewed. I remember telling people in Lukaku’s first season that he wasn’t all that, he ruined play, and wasn’t the type of forward that top teams needed. I had his goal stats from his first season shoved down my throat.

Liverpool getting Minamona for £7.5m is clearly the better deal and probably the player we should have got.

I agree!

We need a forward that can close down, has pace AND can finish better than what we have now. Haaland looks a good player but different to what we need!

I rather we go for a superb No10. That creativity and skill to pick a pass and score....Been keeping an eye on Bruno Fernandes again this season, he looks a perfect fit. Scores for fun, takes all set plays and has great technical ability.

Im not ITK and don't believe it when people claim to be but i do have a family member that lives in Portugal and goes to the Sporting games often and he swears Bruno is better than Felix when he got a big move. He isn't a football scout though so who knows :)

Doubt he'd do that to his old boss, the man who gave him his chance in professional football. Remember that they've met face to face regarding this transfer - Ole has spent enough time around the kid to know if he's taking the piss.

I think Griezman was ours until Atletico got the transfer ban.

I feel kinda sad that now a days is so difficult for United to get any world prospect without a proper fight , I thought this was an easy buy!

The release clause, if it exists hampers us more than anything else basically at £20 mil he is on the market for anyone and everyone, no release clause and we would be competing with very few teams and would be his best option given that most other teams able to spunk £50mil + on a 19you already have a competent no.9

Not for me. All it means is that if he comes here, it's because he wants to. That's what we need right now.

The reality is none of us know what is going on. The reports we read may be propaganda from those trying to sway him one way or the other. His current manager Jesse Marsch was quoted last month saying RB Liepzig would be a great fit for him. If Raiola is involved that is another angle of putting info out there to put pressure on BvB or RB Liepzig to go for him.

For all we know this could be done and dusted. We just need to wait and see. If he ends up going to one of those other clubs it most likely means Ole could not convince the board to get him or he doesn't have confidence that Ole will be the manager for long. I doubt it's money or playing time. It doesn't take a genius to see he would put a lot of pressure on Martial for a starting spot with his current goal output. I remain optimistic for now.

Ah yes, enlighten us on this incredible player we missed out on whose name you can't spell and then who you've definitely watched play more than twice

Although I do agree we probably don't need him, a top quality 10 is far far more important

The two biggest clubs are Real Madrid and United. Martin Odegaard signed for Real and went on loan. Now his one of the best players in La Liga.
Haaland is friend of Martin and know what Odegaard feel about his choice to sign for Real when he could sign for smaller clubs and got more first team football.
Now Haaland has a chance to sign for United. At the age of 19 he knows that if it doesn’t work out then he can just go on a loan for some years like Odegaard.
I doubt he will sign for a German club when he has the chance to sign for the biggest club in the World who also happen to have his favourite manager

When Solksjaer says "he knows what hes doing where hes going" that sounds like "we tried but he made his mind up". Its Robben/Ronaldinho/Shearer all over again. We'll probably end up with Kleberson again.

In my opinion he would not comment on that transfer at all if he knew we had no chance. I think he is coming here. Norwegian media says that a decision is due shortly, so not a big wait anyway.

The super scouts on here are at it again I see.

The lad is quality, the comparisons to Lukaku are just flat out stupid.

As for the chances of joining us I would say its clearly a battle between Ole's United now and Raiola telling him to wait it out a few years
(so he can line his fat pockets the cnut)

Oh well, off to the Mandzukic thread then....
Why? Only Austrian media are calling him to Leipzig. None of this in Norway at all. The only news is that they made a bid. Jan Åge is also running his mouth, but he knows nothing. Just loves the spotlight and Bundesliga in general.

People just like to be negative constantly, the majority of news seems to suggest he will sign for us but everyone on here knows seems to think RBL and BVB are bigger clubs.
Erm, no, everyone thinks they're smaller clubs thus a smaller step in his career so a more gradual and logical path to persue.

So, to summarise.

If we don't sign him, we've missed out on one of the best talents in world football and the club is a joke.
If we do sign him, then we should've signed Minamino as he was only £7m and Haaland is too one footed and the club is a joke.

?
Finally someone who gets it!

But should that not have been followed up by saying we have great forwards and Greenwood etc?

Skysports have had Rafael Hogeinstein give his 2 cents on the Haaland transfer:

He reckons he'll end up at Dortmund despite the links to Manchester United and RB Leipzig. Leipzig have been in the race because of the club connection. Ralf Rangnick has guided him from Molde to Salzburg and him & the rest of the advisors believe Haaland is best suited to a side which is good for his development and where he'll get games (striker position is there to be taken at Dortmund) rather than be catapulted to a big club like United straight away. The preference of Dortmund over Leipzig is apparently because of the "magic" Dortmund as a club/stadium/fans provide which gives them a better edge over Leipzig.

Mino presents a complication but Dortmund did manage to get Mkhitaryan when there was a lot of competition for him at the time. Although RB also want Haaland, he reckons Dortmund are in the pole position.

He’s literally described him with those attributes

dortmund have alcacer as striker, we have martial, Leipzig have Werner. What’s the difference? he’s going to have to get passed both all of them.

we have a coach that already knows him inside out, speaks the same language and are from the country he grew up in.

are United really in that bad of a position? No.

Well, he chose RB Salzburg over Juventus, so if his mindset is still mostly about developing you’ll never know.

It's not about the position United are in, but more us still being one of the biggest clubs in the world brings a lot of eyes and pressure early on in someone's career. That's probably why they see Dortmund as a stepping stone before he moves to a mamouth club and is ready to take on the pressure and expectation.
