It’s okay.

Us over at Leicester think he’s a toaster as well.

The booking on Williams was ridiculous, but other than that, I thought he was decent. Picked up almost all of their ‘sly’ fouls in the first half and really pissed their crowd off. Did I miss something?

The disallowed goal, the foul on James that should've been a red, the foul on Martial that should have been a penalty, Williams having to leap out of the way of Bardsley's obstruction given as a dive.

Total whopper. Worst refereeing performance I can remember for a long time.
You summed it up nicely....

Burnley 4 Yellows Vs Utds 3

Weird considering they kicked the crap out of us for 95 minutes.
At times I was thinking whether the old bastard bet 5 quid on Burnley getting something out of this match.

people complain about players going down easily or act out injuries to get a foul and so on, but this sort of refereeing performance is what incentivizes that. Burnley absolutely kicked lumps out of us today without much punishment from the ref.

Have a guess who was in VAR today. Oliver.

Truly shocking refereeing from Dean. I'm getting sick of this let everyone get stuck into United officiating and to top it off he has the cheek to book Brandon who received a heavy, very cynical tackle to send him flying.
I wonder whether there were any bets on Williams getting a yellow.... It would be nice to have such data available..

Maybe has nothing to do with decision making, but should the biggest league in the world have a ref whose fat gut is visible through his shirt representing it?

Missing the red card, and refusing to punish the Burnley players for cumulative fouling throughout. They should've been down to 9, he just incentivised them to kick the shit out of our players.

Mee and Bardsley should’ve been sent off. They targeted James violently and he gave him absolutely zero protection. If Martial on Tarkowski was a foul, then probably Bardsley on Martial also. That yellow for Williams sums up this idiot.

That Mee tackle is one of the most horrific you’ll see all season, reminded me of Keane on Håland.

Referees allowing butchery should be sued in the case a player gets badly hurt because of that.

Is Dean the most biased referee in EPL or does he just hate United? WTF was that today. Beyond ridiculous.

Yeah, carding Williams for "diving"? What diving, FFS, they almost tore off his foot.

I actually thought he was good for us tonight, bar the booking for Williams obviously
Given he was in charge of one of the worst and inept played matches of the season so far I thought he did ok.

Michael Oliver is the worse by a country mile, gives us nothing every game.
He gave us a penalty once as VAR (Oliver) but that's only because it was against City and it benefitted Liverpool. At least that's the conspiracy theory I'm going with.

So basically "apart from those 20 minutes where he got 3 massive decisions horribly wrong, he's the best referee".

A ref getting one big game-changing decision wrong in a game is bad enough but forgivable at least. 3 major decisions - a disallowed goal, a red card, a penalty; all wrong, not to mention the ridiculous call on the 'dive' - are not the actions of the best referee.

Ducker is a lunatic.

I don’t think it was a red card. And I agree with cumulative fouls, but that’s how Burnley play, refs never pick them up on it.Its literally part of their game plan

To be fair, he’s now offering the below up. His original tweet was made with 20 mins left in the game

It's a mistake if you make mistakes both ways. If mistakes and leniency consistently benefits one side, then it is bias.

Ducker apologized for that stupid tweet...

Dean wasn't perfect tonight but claiming that Martial didn't foul for the disallowed goal and that he should have had a pen is ridiculous. Way too biased there. Taylor and Bardsley could easily have gone for 2 yellows each and maybe even a straight red for the one on James but there is no need to go OTT

Next year, Var will call him to check some situation.

:lol:A tad hyperbolic, no?
Really not, at global level in 2020 imho... allowing blatantly dangerous tackles that put players’ safety at risk is different from allowing man-marking dark arts a la Italian way... pulling shirts, sensing ankles, waterpolo embraces are obstructive plays made to limit oppo’s movements, not thuggish intimidation or make-or-break acts?

Dean is a prick but that tackle got through VAR as well. You'd need to sue them too.

So apart from the three Burnley players he should have sent off, and the utterly mental yellow card for Williams, he had a good game then.

Should have been 1 or 2 red cards to Burnley players. Terrible that VAR is not even looking at these things.
