We've been had again as a fan base. Many could see the same patterns in late June and early July but got ridiculed saying it's too early, judge in August etc.

Once again this board hasn't properly backed this club and failed to give it's manager what it needs to do anything more than a top 4 challenge.

It's been clear for 6 years that is all they care about.

Anything anyone organises against them gets laughed at, but something has to happen if any of us want anything more than a top 4 spot being the expectation again.

Under a tree.
Never knew general transfer thread existed till now....Anyway, i am putting my muppet wishes here. We are only linked with 1 of these but all seem obtainable. Hope to see one attacker signed by the deadline...
  • Ziyech - CAM/RW solution, Left footed, available for 25m. Seems a no brainer to cover the right without breaking the bank this summer (aka #Sancho2020)
  • Werner - last year of contract, Leipzig desperately dont want him to leave for free next year. Previously said United was his prefered team in England. Available for around 50m
  • Zaha - Absolutely ideal if he was predominantly a right winger, available to United for 60m
  • Neres - Comfortable on both RW & LW, left footed, still pretty raw, but bags of potential, Ajax apparently want 50m

Neres signed a new deal today.

I don't think it will force them out, unless it reaches a critical mass, but at least it's more dignified to oppose them. Which strangely gets called embarrassing. Even that banner last season, it spelled out the truth. And people here were echoing "so embarrassing"..etc.

The lack of ambition is most notable in not addressing the problem in how the club is run. It's not mainly down to spending figures. It's about the incompetence that's been evident from the get go.

This feels like the quietest deadline day of any summer transfer window that I can recall.

Probably because it’s not deadline day for any other league.

If Rojo is going for £25m and Lukaku for £75m, we've had a net spend of £40m. After last year's net of £50-60m ish.

Absolutely shocking. Top 4 is a long way off.

Like the majority of fans I feel we are a couple of signings short in this transfer window. However, I am optimistic about the three youngsters staking a claim for a position in the starting line up(greenwood, chong and gomez) not to mention tuanzebe still remaining part of the mix.

A starting line up of:

de gea

awb maguire lindelof shaw

mctominay pogba

greenwood/DJ gomez /mata matial

Rashford

looks exciting on paper and should turn over most teams. At the back we are looking fairly solid for a change now. Hopefully the forward players with their youth, enthusiasm and athleticism will tear teams apart!

Anybody know anything about loader from reading ?
Promising young 18 year old played in England's u17s.
Had a medical at wolves in the summer was set to sign initially on loan but reading pulled out of the deal at the last minute. Got potential but probably wouldn't be nowhere near the first team yet! Reading don't seem to particularly rate him. I have no idea how he's been doing there this season

Not sure if it was already known or if it deserves a thread so here it is:
Louis van Gaal just said he wanted to sign Bale and Ramos. But on Ramos he said: "although sometimes players also use you to get a new contract". He was very clear about wanting to buy Bale though. So looks like it wasn't just Woodward who wanted him.

Was the starting striker of the 2000 English youth teams (Gomes, Foden, Sancho), but then lost his starting place to Liverpool's Brewster. Hasn't been as good for the first team. And I would say that the 2000 generation largely generated hype through its midfield, attacking midfield, and fullback talent. I feel like at times, a lot of players generously get bumped up in reputation because of how great the midfield and attacking midfield talent for the 2000 generation was. So not surprised Loader isn't reaching the heights of some of his teammates.

I see no point really when we already have Greenwood, and potentially a better prospect in Hoogewerf.

Honestly we should get rid of De Gea, Pogba and Sanchez and restore wage parity in our team.

De Gea and Pogba absolutely deserve to be on those wages (or at least be considered the 'highest earners'). Sanchez is a disaster and we are obviously trying to get him off the books at this point.

The issues we have with wages are the mediocre players picking up £100k+ a week.

This is the biggest issue.

Jones, Lingard, Shaw etc do not deserve to be on anything more than 50k

The day Manutd make players work for their money is when we will start to see the improvement in them players.

Think that is down to Woodward. It's seems the only way he can get players us to offer them wages that other teams won't pay them. It shows how far we have dropped we should be signing players who would be willing to try do whatever it takes to get the oppurtunity sign the contract and be willing to give their last drop of sweat on the field if they ever get the honour of wearing the shirt.

It pi$$es me off we offer decent wages for mediocrity. I have problem players getting played decent ages if they have been here a while and shown that they deserve it by consistently producing decent performances on the field.

The sad I think is that Lingard is going to get a new contract soon and I think he will ask for about £150,00 per week because he has been here so long but done feck all to prove he deserves anywhere near those wages.

Forget the wages, he hasn't proved that he deserves to be at Manutd.

The problem is that Ole seems to turn a blind eye to some of the players not performing which is worrying. Lingard looks lost, he clearly needs an extended time out of the team because this will not be doing him any good either.
