I doubt it is that we willingly feck about (though I know everyone imagines Woodward is clueless and has no awareness of being played), I suspect it's more the case that selling clubs like to drive up prices when we're involved (has always been so). That, and the way add-ons and performance related clauses get reported to make it sound super-high always feeds the media trope about United transfers. So I take any 'price' with a pinch of salt. If we want a player for the right reasons and he fits well, I don't care how much the fee, it's better than feeding it back to the Glazers. And let's face it, even at $65m, he still comes in cheaper than Maguire....(oops)
