Not sure if it's the right thread but FG are in some hot water over this RIC/Black and Tans commemoration, and rightly so!

I’ve heard rumours that Leo is to become the Wolfe Tones new agent, after getting them to no.1 in the Irish and UK iTunes charts.

He's a total feckwit. His Government were riding high by backing the same sex marriage and abortion referendum's all the while being completely inept in actually running the country in the background.

I especially love that time where he said he would be a taoiseach for "people who get up to work in the morning" yet all that's happened under FG is the middle getting stretched to shit financially more than anyone else in the country. But it's OK because social welfare for the unemployed is back to pre-recession levels and we've given the traveller's (who are Irish) their own ethnic status and rendered them untouchable (thank Enda for that one).

Might be worth starting a new thread for this, but pretty interesting news Leo calling a GE for the 8th of February.

I’m not 100% sure on the electoral system in the 26 but apparently anyone who registered to vote in the last year is not eligible to vote this time, ruling out lots of younger voters who you would assume would be anti-FG. Slippy enough move by Leo that.

Anyway, lets hope the recent Black and Tan controversy, combined with both main parties complete inability to do anything useful in the history of the state, leads people to vote for anyone outside those two. Really think if Pearse was in charge of SF instead of Mary Lou they’d have a massive chance of doing really well.

Seems it is Fianna Fail's to lose if those numbers are anywhere near correct but even being the main opposition party would be a big win for SF. I don't expect it to happen though as the poll was taken in the midst of the RIC controversy.

That's true too. FG's support would have to decline significantly further from this point, which seems unlikely.

Indeed it was. Guess the baggage isn't shed so easily.

I missed the debate tonight, can anyone fill me in on who they think came out on top?

I'm hearing that Leo fairly lorded him.

Honestly though I find them both so underwhelming in any case. Probably moreso Michael.

Thought Leo came out on top, say what you want but he knows his numbers, policy, etc. He acknowledged that he comes across a bit wooden at times. The memory of FF and 2008 is still too fresh for me to be able to listen to Martin without getting angry.

I won’t be voting for either party.
