This thing is ridiculous now... ridiculous. Sporting, stop the BS and just sell him, United doesn't have the money anyway!

It's still the same original source before Sky jumped on it. So why the hysteria now?

We all love United
The same sky sports who only a week ago said a deal was agreed between Sporting and United.

Sky sports are absolutely garbage.

Are they seriously going to pay 70M for a player to loan him out?

What kind of odd business is this? Way to make a player feel special? ‘Hey Bruno come play for us, but do us a solid and go on loan to Valencia for 6 months so we can sign someone else’.

It's reported to be 60m and they're also negotiating for Rodrigo from Valencia. Might be a creative way of getting Valencia to sell them their best player this window while still ending up with Bruno in the summer.

Barca deals are almost always dodgy anyway

If Sky Sports and Ball bag are reporting it then we know it’s bollocks to be fair!

Interesting that Barcelona are now favourites with lots of the bookies though

Either way we look like utter clowns. We either buy at the price asked 3 weeks ago or we lose him to Barca.

Every piece of news related to United is bad news these days.

It's just blow after blow with almost no exception, for such a long time now.

It is genuinely tiring. I'm bouncing between complete rage and utter despair.

And yes I know this is one of the type of posts that'll attract one of those patronising 'you need to get out more' messages, but anyway.

Like pretty much every player United have signed in the last 6 or so years they have all got worse. Bruno will be doing the right thing to swerve this club.

If hes a player we genuinely wanted, as in, not just for public face saving, but the manager had plans for him, and we lose him to this awful deal over just €10 million, that alone should end woodward's career as a negotiator for this club.

Keep him on the business side if they must, but he shouldn't be anywhere near footballing activities of any sort.

If Woodward / Judge hadn't of been messing around for the last 2 weeks then Barca wouldn't of even got near this.

BARCA OPEN FERNANDES TALKS

Barcelona have opened talks over a deal to sign Manchester United target Bruno Fernandes.

Sky Sports News can confirm reports in Spain that the Catalans have proposed signing the Sporting Lisbon player this summer until 2025, but loan him to Valencia until the end of the 2020-21 season.

Barca are currently in talks with Valencia over a deal to sign striker Rodrigo and reports in Spain say they are hoping this new proposal can help get a deal over the line.

United and Sporting remain apart in their valuations for Fernandes, despite protracted talks over a deal to Old Trafford this month.

News of these discussions could also be viewed as a ‘hurry-up’ to United, with just three days to go of the January window.

So after sky sports say they can confirm the news, at the end of the article they say it might just be a hurry up to us.

Ok sky.

It's pretty depressing, the club keep briefing about targets like Sancho and Maddison but because of how piss poorly we've done this season we're very likely now to miss out on top 4 and even those with the most red-tinted specs will find it hard to believe we can sign anyone of their calibre. Hell, if reports are to be believed we can't even convince Bellingham to join us. What worries me is that I can't see it getting any better in summer, we'll brief that we're after players and inevitably end up with no one or very, very few signings. I wouldn't even be shocked to see us finish 6th/7th/8th and Solskjaer remain in charge, that's how poorly run we seem to be these days.

No, they said a deal was agreed between United and Player, but were far away with the club.

True. The haggling and penny pinching about the fee and add ons might come back to bite us. It seems we've been messing Sporting around, when 55 million up front would have done the trick, and he's worth that in today's market. It will be a real shame if we lose out, but Woodward and the Glazers can make a mess of anything.

Does FFP not exist in Spain? 120 million euros, on top of the 200 they spent in the summer?

Way I read it was end of the 2020/21 season, so 18 months, did I have a stupid moment?!

Honestly don't care at this point, dragged on too long to be true. Almost seems a lose-lose for Woodward, granted one bigger than the other. He either gets our man, but spends the whole window haggling only to pay the damn price, or he loses out having dallied around with his lad in his hand. Even the Glazer's should be frowning upon this, and if they are involved they should realise the damage this sort of debacle is doing to the club's 'image', if we even have one left at this point!

It can very quickly accelerate the downward spiral though. No players in would probably mean worse PL position at the end of the season and getting knocked out of Europa league.

It will then be even harder and more expensive to sign the players we need. Think the board got it all wrong - signing no players now will make potential new players see that we arent prepared to do whats necessary to get back on top.
The problem is ultimately the incompetence of people who are in-charge. Why are we three days away from the close of transfer window and still negotiating for a player? Close the deal or move on to another player. Even better, do the negotiations during the season and have everything in place to register the new players during the first week of transfer window. We're not in a position where we can play it out and still compete. Inbound transfers are a necessity for us.

You think £55 million is a Balon D’Or winning fee? Ronaldo cost far more 10 years ago. Look at fees for Neymar, Coutinho, Joao Felix etc.
How many Ballons D’Or have they won?

It should have been done and dusted for January 1st. Maybe we would have won points against Burnley then.

Not gonna lie, I’ll be a little bit gutted if we can’t get this one over the line. Felt like he ticked a lot of the boxes for the club. Shame.
