I wonder if it affects the players contractually. Our players lose 25% of their earnings if we don't qualify.

The ban is for kinda making up "dodgy" sponsorship deals in order to gain revenue from it, thus pass ffp. Isnt it?

The owners were sponsoring the club themselves, and using their own income to bypass FFP, or am i wrong?

Yes, it's actually pretty common. For exemple, Milan was sanctionned by the UEFA last year, they went before the CAS, the CAS said the principle of a sanction was fine but that it was excessive and asked UEFA to give a better motivation or to reduce the sanction. In the meantime, Milan negociated a deal with the UEFA for a 1 year ban and the deal was validated by the CAS.
Thanks for the info. I'm not familiar with what Milan did but how does the severity compare with what City did? Also if you have any links to articles that would be much appreciated.

I think that maximum what UEFA will do is to reduce it on one year.
But bigger questions for us( at least for me) are;
1) Can we finish 5th?
2) Will Pep leave and City sign Poch?

Many questions on the same two themes that I don't get.

1. City's statement - "Simply put, this is a case initiated by UEFA, prosecuted by UEFA and judged by UEFA." Why's that supposedly some kind of wrongdoing according to City? Their competition, their rules that you agreed to abide by, they enforce them if you break them no? I don't get it.

The Premier League has rules, if a player breaks them they are investigated and if appropriate punished. I have a job, there are things I'm expected to do and not do, if I go off the rails the organisation I work for will investigate and punish. If I join a tennis club and wear golf shoes on the grass court they may investigate me and suspend me or boot me out.

2. Who are CAS exactly/what gives them their power? I've just had a look on their site and they were set up in 1984 and a few other things. Are they just people who one day decided they were going to tell sports organisations what to do? Do sports sign up with them up with them or something, or can a sport ignore them?

This is exactly what was expected, now it goes to CAS. How CAS react will determine how City end up. Strong showing from Uefa and deserved in truth. I think they are hoping for a 1 year bargain that's not going to come.

This means Pep is gone by end of the season. And their oil-fueled, bloated reign is as good as done. Not sad about it.

How do you feel about this personally, does the punishment fit the crime?

So now they can concentrate on the PL for the next 2 seasons and stop those wankers passing our record.

Even getting it reduced to a year ban could be good for us if it is for next year.

Now the FA, PL & EFL should strip MCFC of all trophies won during the offending period. And the football broadcasters - if they have any backbone, which I doubt - should sue for big compensation for being sold rights to competitions undermined by cheating
Would this mean that we win the league 2 years ago?

In complex matters such as these, I believe the only appropriate response is 'lol'.

"All sky sports news can talk about is pep leaving. Tell you what I spot a cunning plan concocted by the fa, premier league and UEFA. Liverpool have made it piss boring, what could we do to liven this shit boring league up?
Aha ban man city from Europe thus making the chasing pack more incentive to get them places.
It's piss funny how the media are reacting. Watch for the reaction with its overturned."

Keep the faith blues.

No, because that would wreak havoc with the space-time continuum. And Moyes would come back.

Mourinho will get that 5th
Not without Kane they wont.
If we didnt sign Bruno and Pogba wasnt about to retun I wouldnt give us a chance but we would have to be favourites for 5th surely. Any sort of run would do us

It was established by the IOC. All Olympic international federations recognize it's authority to rule on most sporting matters as a court of appeal. And it's recognized as a court of arbitration by the supreme court of Switzerland. And both FIFA and UEFA are based there, so I imagine it made sense for them to have an arbitration agreement with a court that dealt with sports to begin with. If they didn't use a court of arbitration, I suppose they exposed themselves to being sued in Swiss courts in cases like this one.
