I'm sure 95% of us would like us to sell both this summer, along with Mata. Due to Pogba, Matic, Gomes & Chong all looking off in the summer. It'll probably mean 1 of the 3 goes this summer, the other 2 next year to keep our squad numbers up for 2020/21 season.
- Mata is well past his peak but is still capable of something (certainly more than Lingard or Pereira), its just rarer than it used to be so he'd get next season.
- Pereira is the youngest of the 3 and on the lowest wages of the 3, he's hugely ineffective and seems pointless having him on the pitch (personally he makes me rage every time he shoots from distance to kill our attack and gift the opposite a goal kick). For my money one of United worst ever players - Djemba-Djemba looked terrible in a squad with Scholes & Keane...Pereira looks terrible in modern day 2018-2020 Man Utd. At least Lingard has a FA Cup winning goal, Legaue Cup final goal, and winners vs Chelsea & Arsenal on his United CV.
- Lingard has had one of the worst past 14 months of any United player in recent memory (bar Alexis) & shares pretty much the exact same negatives as Pereira, both look destroyed on confidence. He's 27, on higher wages than Pereira, just hired Mino Raiola as his agent which can't have pleased the club, overall it just feels the natural end to Jesse's Man Utd Career. Hopefully we could still get around £20m for him this summer.
It's all a process that will take more than 1 summer, hopefully 2 new CM/CAM's come in this summer and then another 2 next summer and we can all forget about Lingard, Pereira, Mata, Matic & Pogba and look forward to the future with a new look, fresh United squad.
