Ndombele is clearly in physical difficulties. It's not a matter of pace.Wondering the same lately. I remember Fred looked off the pace in the beginning, but was he ever this bad?

They are obviously different players and Ndombele is more creative than a workhorse but he looks shot for confidence.Wondering the same lately. I remember Fred looked off the pace in the beginning, but was he ever this bad?

I actually think he did. I think I remember a pre or post match presser where he said they couldn't focus on both the CL and the PML but his priority was the PML.@balaks do you think Pochettino would have done this?
You could tell the team needed a big rebuild before Mourinho were hired. I bet Levy expected bad results to keep coming either way, especially without huge investments in the squad. Don't think they had the money for it. If you hire Mourinho he might manage to work miracles with a poor squad, maybe win a trophy and if not you got the perfect fall-guy as he'll make himself the enemy soon enough. That's my only logical take on it, doesn't really make a lot of sense otherwise.Wtf was Levy thinking? Spurs went from CL final to a miserable club wrecking manager
Yep. Should have backed Pochettino imo. He would have turned it around with some backing.Wtf was Levy thinking? Spurs went from CL final to a miserable club wrecking manager

Arsenal only conceded 17 goals in 1998/99, obviously he inherited a world-class defensive unit from the early 90s, but it shows that his teams used to be able to defend and have steel. Mourinho's teams used to be able to attack well within an organised unit, in recent years he can't get the balance right at all. He can still play for low-scoring draws but when his team tries to win games, they inevitably concede 2 or 3 the other end.The Wenger comparison is very apt. Both managers used to have a lot of strings to their bow, but over time became parodies of themselves. As well as possession based football, Wenger used to have rugged defences & deadly finishers in his team along with a real backbone (its funny to think there was a timewhen his team got loads of red cards). But eventually all those other things whittled away until you were left with the tippy-tappy inoffensive possession game of late Wenger. Mourinho used to use his aggro tactics to inspire incredible loyalty in his players, would have relentlessly organised teams and a will to win that was remarkable at this first 3 clubs. But all those things have gone and all he's left with is the aggro.
Even in 14-15 he was getting something like 15 out of a possible 18 pts against top 4 rivals. Ferguson himself said he had to change how he primed the squad in order to challenge Chelsea.I’m loving all these comments, “all his powers are gone”.
Yeah, his powers to spend millions and millions more than anyone else. He’s always been a shite negative bastard who can’t build a squad.
They've still got enough to beat Norwich at home. In attack they have Bergwijn, Lo Celso, Alli, Lamela and Lucas Moura. Is in the process of trying to reinvent himself - he will rise again imo.
If Spuds give him time I think he'll do ok there.
He's lost Kane and Son ffs, I know he's unpopular on here, but Spurs without those two are nothing really.
Swear people have been saying this since the 2nd Chelsea meltdown. I just don't see anything that points to him rising again really. Is in the process of trying to reinvent himself - he will rise again imo.

You should look up on it, it was a series of meltdowns and broken relationships with the players there. What actually happened with him at Madrid? Anyone have the full story?
United fans weren’t this lenient with Ole when he lost Pogba, Rashford, and McTominay. ie. our two best players and arguably our player of the season up to that point. Is in the process of trying to reinvent himself - he will rise again imo.

Jose has only been in the job 3 months - that is the difference. Gotta give him a bit of time.United fans weren’t this lenient with Ole when he lost Pogba, Rashford, and McTominay. ie. our two best players and arguably our player of the season up to that point.
Jose looks finished, surely he’ll get the summer transfer window but he’ll have even less to spend than he had at United, and even that wasn’t enough.
Time actually seems to make him worse at his job.Jose has only been in the job 3 months - that is the difference. Gotta give him a bit of time.
Odd second post. Is that you Jose?Honestly, the replies on this forum are incredibly biased and quite shocking. It seems everyone is giving into the narrative that Sky Sports creates every day surrounding Jose Mourinho, that he's at fault for everything. Probably in the same way as Souness and Scholes scream about Pogba every week.
United fans forget how many excuses were made for Solskjaer when Pogba and Rashford suffered injuries. Even before that, when we lost McTominay. People were talking about how limited he is this season.
Spurs have lost arguably one of if not the best No. 9 in the world in Harry Kane, the man who's been the forefront of everything since then in Son, and their occasionally World Class goalkeeper. They've also lost their most creative and influential midfielder in Eriksen.
Alongside that, just watch Spurs play and you'll see how utterly dreadful their squad is. Their wing backs are some of the worst in the League defensively, Ndombele loses the ball a ridiculous amount of times for a midfielder and never seems to be in position, they have no real defensive midfielder who can break up play except Dier(enough said), and he's being forced to play Alli in a position where he can't influence the game. On top of that players like Lamela, who have some quality don't seem to understand that sometimes you're going to need to work with your team mates in order to do well.
I know a lot of said of Spurs' central defence, but Vertonghen has lost it, Sanchez isn't good enough, and alongside Alderweireld, neither seems to ever know where they're supposed to be. It's all very erratic. Plus Spurs fans who've constantly wanted to see Parrott play should notice he has some incredibly slow reactions for a forward
Like, really slow that it should be concerning, even if he is young.
I'd be shocked if anything was achieved at all with this squad. They're an 8th to 9th place squad without their stars.
I don't get the hate against Jose either. Yes, he was toxic at the end but he had valid reason to be. The fact that he said at the end that he'd lost his passion for football at United should make people question what actually goes on at our club. Besides that our board is dreadful and we have some of the most temperamental players in the league. Solskjaer has done well, because he tends to mollycoddle them, which isn't the Jose approach. Even when they were shire, he talks about how they played well. It's clever from Solskjaer.
However, Jose is also the last manager to give us any hope that we'd be able to reach the top again. We emphasized the Europa League and took the Carabao Cup as well, but then guided us into second behind what is probably the best squad in world football at the moment. Plus an FA Cup Final, where he slammed players in the loss, talking about how they are not working hard enough, and how many are prioritizing themselves for the World Cup instead of the club. The only difference between that second place squad and Ole's squad was literally Lukaku and Herrera. Ole has in fact had a few upgrades since then, and yet we currently have a dreadful points tally. In fact, the league has been so competitive this year because most of the top 8 sides(all of them, except Liverpool) have been severely under performing. That's why we're only ahead of 11th place by 5 damn points.
I mean, come on, this bias is ridiculous now. He's not the best person in the world, but the fact that Guardiola and Klopp are treated like Gods and him like the devil is ridiculous. This stupid narrative needs to end already.
There might be a reason for that and very good one too. He's not the best person in the world, but the fact that Guardiola and Klopp are treated like Gods and him like the devil is ridiculous

Mourinho has been sacked by Real Madrid, Chelsea and United now and will not last long at Spurs either. He lost the dressing room at all the 3 clubs and has a habit of blaming everything and everyone apart from himself for his troubles. You state that "we have some of the most temperamental players in the league. Solskjaer has done well, because he tends to mollycoddle them, which isn't the Jose approach. Even when they were shire, he talks about how they played well. It's clever from Solskjaer." I quess that you are mostly talking about Pogba here but perhaps Martial and Lingard also ? I can not see when looking at the current squad where all those tempermental players in the league are??Honestly, the replies on this forum are incredibly biased and quite shocking. Isn't this the opposite of what you would typically expect from Mourinho? He was supposed to be the guy who comes in and stabilises things in the short term. History would suggest that giving him time is the worst thing to do, especially when things are seemingly erratic already.Jose has only been in the job 3 months - that is the difference. Gotta give him a bit of time.
Under normal circumstances yeah - but we have had horrible luck with injuries which you have to take into consideration. Our only two guaranteed goal scorers in the team (including by far our best and most important player) out and our club captain also out. That alone has pretty much done us in with or without Jose.Isn't this the opposite of what you would typically expect from Mourinho?
