Its real madrid or bust for him really isn't it. No one else needs, wants or can afford him. And he'll probably need to take a wage cut to tempt them. I'm inclined to think they'll be more interested in Mbappe or Neymar and he'll be an afterthought if they can afford him (probably needing to sell a player or two to make it work).
I'd rather be rid of him and spend the money elsewhere at this point.

He doesnt say anything that bad to be fair
Of course he didn't, the meltdown was always going to happen because some people just can't wait to be outraged.

Some people acting as if Pogba should be policing his grown brothers. They are free to state whatever their opinions or wishes are and it's not Pogba's problem. Dudes said they want Pogba to play for Madrid on a Spanish channel then you have you usual overly sensitive "fans" who got somehow easily offended by that and going on pointless rants about Pogba.

His brothers and agent are part of the package unfortunately. Pogba comes with a circus

Policing his brothers, no, his agent, yes. Pogba never disputed what his agent was saying when he was disrespectful towards United. His agent is a loudmouth idiot, but Pogba should have publicly denied those represented his thinking towards the club. He didn’t. Hence the dislike.

When do fooballers ever publicly criticise their agents ?

This is one of the most stupid excuses people come up to hate Pogba

If there was no truth to Raiola's comments, why didn't Pogba move quickly to quell them?

Pogba really doesn't have to say anything just perform on the pitch is enough .

Im sure he is well aware that no matter what he says the same people will hate on him anyway

I did think he might be priced out of a move, a bit like Neymar. If United do get into the Champions League and add a couple of top class players, this wouldn’t be a surprise.

He has already done similar things on the pitch before when hes told fans to not listen to the press. Lukaku and him also did something similar together.

Nobody said he has to criticize his agent, more so reassure the fans of his commitment to the club. He’s let far too much be said by that poisonous leech of an agent without reaction imo and it’s no surprise to me indifference towards him and some fans has built up. He can prove his commitment on the pitch now for sure, but it’s been a long long while since he’s been there.

I really hope Pogba is not here next season. Problem is nobody is spending massive money to get him and Utd will not sell for anything below 100m. Talk of an improved contract is madness for a player who has contributed sweet fa this season though.

I hope he signs the deal. He's our only player that has graced the biggest games in the world game and it would be great to see such a talent stay. I'm sure it'll also be enticing for the likes of Sancho to share a dressing room and football pitch with such a popular team mate that all players get on so well with.

It's pretty clear that he wants to leave but I think his value on the pitch is nothing close to what we would want for him, so getting someone to offer enough money in fees and wages was always going to be the issue.

It's going to be an interesting few months but ultimately if he 'changed his mind' and committed to a new deal and we got a motivated Pogba for the next few years, I'd accept that, despite not being his biggest fan. But I just don't see it...IMO it's more likely to turn sour with more leaks and agent tantrums to drive down the price.

I'd just like it done ASAP whatever yhe outcome. Dragging into the final days of the transfer window after the season has started would be the worst case scenario.

Do you think we'd be able to get Sancho without selling Pogba financially ?

If he can change his mentality and start to give everything I'd happily see him get a new deal. If he genuinely decides he wants to be here - regardless of how he's had his agent carry out his agenda - I'd give him a lower basic wage and a heavily incentivised deal. And for him to make sure his agent shuts up about the club in relation to him for good, or he has to sack him / incur fines (whichever is legally plausible).

me and you are totally on the same page about most things utd.
100% this
But only if the commitment is there and his agent shuts up for a year or 2 and let’s us get on with it.

Excellent player but there is a part of me that looks at recent games and thinks "where does he play? Who do we drop? Would he upset the current improvement in team spirit we've seen?"
A motivated Pogba would bench all of our players against those weaker sides we have problems breaking down.

Genuinely glad to read this. People are buying into the media bullshit too much over Pogba. If he goes for a great amount of money then fair enough but I'll be over the moon if hes here long term

I worry a little about this too. It’s the reason I’m not totally mad on him. Nothing about his abilities as a player though. To me He’s still our best player. You have to make space for a fit and committed paul pogba. He also gives us tactical and rotation options. Remember those hahaha me neither. Negative me thinks Imagine he signs a GIANT new deal and he can’t play with Bruno then.... argh... One thing is Bruno likes the right side AM and Pogba the left. If they do click that’s a scary midfield man. I do feel sorry for Fred Matic or McT one of whom will always be dropped more or less. I’d hate for Fred to lose his place in the team now for example. He’s been class this year. All action and total commitment on the pitch.

If true he wants to stay (big if, would say there's a 90% chance he goes), then of course it would be great news. Would obviously mean no Grealish, makes no sense going for both (and Grealish isn'ton Pogba's level). Could be an element of truth to it. Real Madrid need a rebuild, but might not want to spend big on Pogba who is going into his late 20's. Doesnt make sense spending big money when he'll leave his peak as their team will probably enter theirs (if things go as planned for them). Juventus might be an option, but they surely can't keep spending big? Plus with the virus now... feck knows if he wants to.

Then from our side of things, all of a sudden everything looking rosey. He'll be worried about doing what Coutinho did with Liverpool. Got sick of waiting and then bailed, and then Liverpool won the CL instantly (and now nobody wants Coutinho). With Bruno looking quality and outshining Pogbas entire past here in 1 month, he'll want to prove himself, and maybe think he can form a partnership with him. We'll see what happens I guess, for now just hope he comes back soon and helps us finish strongly. Could yet win 2 trophies and get top 4.

We signed Rojo because LVG and his staff who were analysing the Dutch teams defeat to the Argies in the world cup semi-final were very impressed by Rojo after the analysis process was complete. Van Gaal went on record and said as such on TV.

Without much of an issue IMO. We spend like 150m every year since Fergie retired. We have a few random players that will be sold this summer, along with part of Lukaku's fees (since they were split over 3 years), etc. Pogba being sold or not directly impacts if we go for Grealish or not IMO, nothing to do with Sancho though.

We might not get Grealish if Pogba stays, but I'm fine with that. But Sancho is the main target for the club and the funds for that potential transfer will have been put to one side IMO.

I'd be thrilled if he committed his future to the club. As part of a functional midfield, he'd thrive.

Wow. I don't remember seeing this. This is probably what Raiola referenced when he said Pogba has made his feelings clear. There is no doubt he wanted to leave, which means the actions of his agent was intended to bully United into doing what Pogba's team wants. Engineering a move. I think there is ways to go about doing that and to see him flip flop once again now actually makes me angry. That somehow Bruno is good enough to play alongside Pogba, that should change everything. What happens when Bruno hits a bad run of form? Wouldn't Pogba want to leave again? Aren't we then opening ourselves up for having Raiola openly attack our new signing Bruno to demonstrate further how terribly this club is run, just in a scheme to move Pogba away.

I don't particularly care that Pogba wanted to leave after his best season, but to come out and attack the manager that gave him so much trust, especially after his part in the personal dispute and bust up with the last manager, is preposterous. Hard to trust guys like that, they'll say or do anything to get it their way.

Another briefing tonight, such a circus for a man that doesn't perform and is injured. Talented player but doesn't perform enough. People constantly defending his behaviour is becoming tiresome. When the going gets tough, Paul is not up for the fight. Let's move on, couldn't be arsed another Summer of the disrespect for United.

Heard that he might be renewing and immediately hit the moonwalk combined with a spin kick and crotch grab

Him and Bruno and if we manage to add Sancho. Next year is going to be spooky season for a lot of teams

Or when do agents constantly criticise the paymaster of their client? You just never heard from agents -- even someone like big as Mendes.

Clearly Riola speaks to Pogba before spewing out his crap.

He has never ever given us season-long high level of performance before? no.

Keano, Cantona did for years so it's understandable that most of us defend them with deservingly blind faith/loyalty. I just dont remember Pogba doing any of the Keano/Juve match performances -- where he dragged the team across the line despite knowing that he won't be playing in the final. That's leadership.

Well wow, Pogba shows less leadership/is less of a leader than Roy Keane. If you are using Roy Keane as a reference point than 99.99% of all footballers will fall short.

Have a feeling he will still be here next season.

Just need someone to rig the fax machine again.
