Is this next season's home kit for United?

Will buy the green jersey if that's legit. The home jersey is truly awful though. Nothing about it that i like at all from the pictures. Maybe it will look better in real life? I doubt it but will wait till i see it.

Are they taking the piss? I remember reading how the Adidas football guy is a massive Liverpool fan but he should at least try and hide it.

Whoever came up with that home shirt obviously commutes on Southwest Trains for inspiration:

And that dazzle camoflauge 3rd kit has Sharp Viewcam grey kit written all over it. Do they think the opposition won't be able to see us or something?

Just a poorly made mock up shirt.
Could still be real. My wife works for one of Adidas's big competitors, some of the samples she brings home have logos and trims all over the place.

We've actually gone with the bus seat?

Looks like some of the mad clobber from the early 90s. I predict everyone will moan, we'll get the absolute piss taken out of us by oppos all season and the shirt will sell like hot fecking cakes.

I like the South African away shirt too.

The head of design at Adidas is German and he supports a third division German team. The guy that does the United shirts is actually a Mancunian and he supports United. They are under pressure to make every shirt different from the last though, so that ends up with us having a simple design one year and an overly complicated one the next.

You are right. I looked him up and the previous chap i was referring to moved to a different department in 2018.

I think that the idea is that the home shirt is hopefully going to be a classic in which we win trophies.

The away is great PR, take the sting out of the old green and gold anti-Glazer movement and also design a shirt that goes well the Chevy logo, which I think is the last year on the deal.

The third will be rarely worn on the pitch, but is going to sell very well I think. I'd love it if we did wear this one and confuse the feck out of defenders at set pieces, but I'm worried it'll end up like the grey one that we had to change at half time because SAF said we couldn't see each other.

All in all, I think the design team have thought this one out pretty well.

The 12/13 home print was brilliant. Wish they could return to the subtle checkered pattern instead of this recent... thing.

Im not sure if anyone has mentioned this (haven't read all 6 pages) but it looks alot like our old kit but in reverse and for some reason always reminds me of Giggsy

the one when someone thought having a giant Old Trafford plastered on the players was a good idea is also terrible and number 3 on this list
How dare you!

It's one of the best home shirts we've ever had. And it was my first one so I'm biased towards it but still.

Adidas had far more better shirts then Nike has. Last good Nike shirt was the 09 one with the black V.

Serious?
These Red tablecloth?

Serious.

It was original and miles better than the recent shite which looks like the time my graphic card broke and started to show random artifacts on the screen.

The tablecloth grew on me, but only because of the season it was worn in. Aesthetically, it's awful.

People before Adidas : "Adidas always make the best kit, the logo has always fits perfectly as well. It would be great if We have them as main sponsor. They will do much better than Nike"
Adidas in 2020 : "Hold my Predator Mutator 20.1 Firm Ground Boots"

Meanwhile in Adidas HQ
Lead Designer : "So We need to prepare a new design for ManUnited jersey, something that must be fresh and represents the club. It has to represent the future. The kids are the future"
Designer A : "We can design one that looks like it's shooting lasers like in Spaceship Video games. Video games are the future"
Lead Designer : "Brilliant! IIIII love it! write it down!"
Designer B : "And for the second design, let's make one that consists of triangles that form Zebra pattern"
Lead Designer : "But why Zebra pattern?"
Designer B : "To remind people of Juventus, the old lady"
Lead Designer : "But there is no old lady? what does She have to do with ManUnited?"
Designer B : "There are some in the canteen, the tea lady must be old"
Lead Designer : "My God! What a genius design! write it down!"

Adidas are still better than the shite Nike are putting out at the moment. Most of Nike’s stuff all look the same.

If I was working at Adidas on new kits, I would just leak legitimate design options online and see which are most popular.

It's in their interest to have popular kits because it means more sales. By leaking design options, it's an easy way to test market opinion without committing yet.

People would be so dead set on one design that they wouldn't buy another if their design lost.

I quite like all three actually, particularly the home and the third. Don’t think i’ve ever seen a positive reaction to any shirt we’ve ever had, so I guess i’m the fool for expecting less vitriol year after year.

I have a theory that red is too difficult to work patterns into and that it should always stay plain, except when accentuated with white - creating a contrast that's easier on the eye. Possibly blue but the contrast is always iffy when two primary colours are used together. Black can work too.

Surely a graphic designer who has trained in colour theory should realise this?

I am not talking about a competition... I am talking about leaking designs unofficially just to see which ones prove popular. Obviously the idea is the fans would not know whether they were real Adidas designs or not.
