Not so sure, if they get results against City and Liverpool then yes. Our fixture list is definitely the most favourable.

Aside from City and Liverpool, they're yet to play Leicester, Sheffield and Wolves.
What will Liverpool have to play for by then? Chelsea are now 5 points ahead with 8 games to play which is a very decent position to be in and they won't have the distractions of European football unlike United and Wolves. The so called more favourable games are normally the ones United will drop further points in

We’ll get top four if we win every game, I’m sure of that. And looking at our fixture list, it’s not impossible. This break has caused us some problems, we were in such good form. I’m convinced we’d have beaten Spurs if things had continued.

I worry about how motivated City will be on Thurs after seeing the scousers win the league on Weds night.

You also have the small matter of a Liverpool team on the beach when Chelsea go to Anfield.

I am going to try and remain positive we can bounce back from the disappointing draw against Spurs.

Where the grass is greener.
Liverpool won't be taking their foot off the gas, they'll want the record points total, for once their tedious boring robot like performances will help us.

Why?! Because we're simply incapable of going on a sustained run. It's been the story of our season. Time and time again whenever we've had a chance to make up ground on the top 4, we've bottled it.

I have absolutely no faith in this team or manager.
It’s not like Chelsea are Baresi-led Milan though, is it? If it’s only two points after Thursday, they could easily do worse than us over the remainder of the season. To say it’s over is crazy at this stage no matter what our opinion or doubts about Ole are.

Looking at the remaining fixtures, Wolves worry me more than Chelsea. I reckon Chelsea could still drop a lot of points.

City will do them. The same frailties were there from before and a team like City will punish them. That's not even mentioning that they have Wolves on the final day as well as a Liverpool that will most likely be looking to get City's points record in the penultimate game.

If they get 5-7 points across those games mentioned, then I'll say they be in the driving seat but I honestly just don't see it.

I'd have added Sheff Utd to this, and did in the last couple of days I have, but unfortunately on current viewing it looks like their race has been ran.

City are not looking at Liverpool's results.

Liverpool will be on their holidays by the 2nd to last game. Leicester is in the cup.
There's a chance of that happening, definitely. However, if that points record is on offer (which it most likely will be), I'm sure they'll go for it.

I guess. They get fecked in the CL and the cup and have to focus on points record. How the mighty season has fallen.

What distractions? European football is in August, after the domestic season is over.

Never mind Chelsea, that Wolves run in looks scary - about as good a one as they could hope for.
We may well need that Europa, even if City get booted.

United should be winning 6 of the 8 easily and then have every chance is getting a result at Palace and Leicester. Honestly, it would have been hard to choose an easier run-in.

If United don’t get do it, it will be because the team isn’t good enough and don’t deserve it.

Normally if teams finish above my own I’ll give due credit. I think this time based on the 2/3rds played, it would be an absolute travesty if you guys finished above us.

I get we have been inconsistent at times and that’s a mixed of limited forwards and a lack of game management and know how. You guys on the other hand, have been quite dreadful at times and it really felt like a chore to watch. I feel like it’s more down to lack of tactics and employing someone utterly clueless and with a proven track record of failure.

So if that happened, it would be on Chelsea, not an outstanding comeback story. That thought is truly sickening

Banking on their small squad and lack of depth in the bench together with the thick and fast run of games, can hope they dropped points also against relegation fighting Villa, Bournemouth and drop points against Everton, Chelsea, Arsenal and Crystal Palace, draws and/or losses.

Anyone who is freaking out hasn't paid attention to how the season has gone, and hasn't looked at fixtures. We couldn't ask for a kinder fixture list, and for once have creative midfielders to choose from. This weekend pretty much went as expected, Chelsea beating the 2nd worst side in the league and United drawing away to a traditional top 6 club. United from here on out have 2 tough games left, Palace away (Chelsea also have that), and Leicester away.

Chelsea has arguably only a couple of easy games left. Norwich at home and Watford at home, and then the next easiest would be West Ham away. They're going to do really well to get another 15 points from the remaining 8 games, while I'd be surprised if we didn't get at least 18 points from the remaining games.

Lets face it unless City's ban is upheld we are not qualifying for the champions league through the Premiership . The Europa league is our only realistic hope

So chelsea have struggled because of a lack of players but United havent despite Pogba being injured all year and only getting Bruno at the end of January, and having no depth behind Rashford or Martial?

United got a decent chance still with the easier run in. Don’t feel we can nick games the way Chelsea did today though. Still, Chelsea and Leicester will drop a lot of points.

People looking at our fixture list as if it's easy must have very short memories. We already lost to Bournemouth, West Ham, Palace and drew against Southampton, Villa in our reverse fixtures.

We've probably got a better team available than in any of those fixtures of course but it's very hopeful to think we'll suddenly find consistency.

Whats the status of Chelsea UEFA ban? What odds it will be for next season?

Before the game started I think most would have expected a Chelsea win. The midweek games are the ones where we could close the gap.
We basically need to win 8 on the trot. No room for error. I can't see it happening.

City's* UEFA ban currently is for next season and the season after. Their appeal will be decided in early/mid July, where we'll find out if 5th makes CL next year or not.

What distractions? European football is in August, after the domestic season is over.
Full focus on the league and not having it in the back of their minds that success in a European competition later might make up for failure to finish 4th in the league.
