By the way 5 is not nearly enough.
My counter Sir Bobby and maybe even Cantina is that this is favourite, not best. Most people here wouldn't have seen Cantina play let alone others before him. It's hard to put them on a list of your favourites if you never saw them - Rooney I feel people would leave out due to primarily that contract saga which left a sour taste in many I think. Mine included but i more often than not felt good he was in the team and gave me some of my favourite moments.Charlton, a Ballon d'Or winner; a man who was a part of both the Busby Babes and the 1968 European Cup winning side; for decades our record-holder in both goals (as a midfielder) and appearances; a perfect gentleman and the personification of United itself, should be in top 5 of every United fan.
Cantona, the catalyst for our 2-decades long domination and officially the coolest to ever exist, should be in top 5 of every United fan.
Giggs, Scholes, Best, Law, Robson, Keane, Beckham etc.
There're no certainties in a list of personal favourites.
To be honest it's not that I haven't seen him play, I've never even heard of him! Most people here wouldn't have seen Cantina play let alone others before him.
Yeah strange that AJ included a geezer who enjoyed wearing Alice BandsOne of these is not like the others! Interesting choice
Wouldn't make sense to me to have a player on my list that i never saw live, only highlights from youtube.Charlton, a Ballon d'Or winner; a man who was a part of both the Busby Babes and the 1968 European Cup winning side; for decades our record-holder in both goals (as a midfielder) and appearances; a perfect gentleman and the personification of United itself, should be in top 5 of every United fan.
Plays a mean saxaphone in an alien band.To be honest it's not that I haven't seen him play, I've never even heard of him!
It’s a bit wank to point out As you’ve said that, but I promise you it felt like more of a privilege to watch Eric than it did Ronnie. I wish higher quality highlights existed.Only have vague memories of Cantona from his last season of 96/97 .
Fcuk that makes me feel old.My counter Sir Bobby and maybe even Cantina is that this is favourite, not best. Most people here wouldn't have seen Cantona play let alone others before him. You've missed a point I was making, I'm afraid. The point was not that everyone should put Charlton on their lists, the point was saying that everyone should include a certain player in their top-5 is absurd.Wouldn't make sense to me to have a player on my list that i never saw live, only highlights from youtube.
This isn't a "who's the best United player ever", it's about favourite players.
