Jose Mourinho | Spurs manager

At every club he's been at since 2002, Mourinho has won trophies. Will he win one at Spurs?

If there's just one thing that really disappoints me about Mourinho is that he isn't creating this mayhem at Arsenal. Him going there would have been the event of the decade. I would have loved to see him destroy that club.

I honestly can't see where he goes from here...maybe just sticking to punditry? We haven't even given him the satisfaction of getting one over us since he was sacked.

I remember some Spurs fans on social media taking the piss out of United and Solskjaer in particular when Mourinho signed for them even though we actually very happy for them.

In one way I do hope they beat Arsenal at the weekend but if they get hammered...well I fear for Mourinho. That team just better turn up for that game if only for the rest of the season.

It's great watching the inevitable implosion though. Feck Daniel Levy.

He is not destroying the club - stop being so dramatic - Levy is destroying our club not Jose. Jose is struggling to get a performance out of a tired team lacking in confidence that needs shaken up just in the same way Poch was. Based on your logic Poch was destroying the club also then.
Wonder what @InLevyITrust think of this.

I can only shake my head when people say these sort of things. Let me put it to you - let's say Ole was a total disaster and the team were going backwards fast. Would you look to sell Bruno and Rashford to reinvest and accept you'll be fighting for Europa spot for a few seasons? I hope that helps you understand just how ridiculous that sounds. Selling our best players and accepting we will be a mid-table team for several years doesn't sound like a good plan to me so no.
Our financial situation isn’t the same as yours. Yours is similar to Arsenal after the move from Highbury - except even worse. What ends up happening in those sort of situation is that the top players get fed up and want to move regardless, so you either be proactive and cash in when their value is high, or ended up losing them for lower amount of money while losing the time that could’ve been used to bed in new recruits or youngsters.

Whether you like it or not, the new stadium + covid means you will be handcuffed for a long time in the market. And with City, Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool + the new Saudi regime at Newcastle, it will be even tougher to get in top prospects in the UK, let alone continental. That’s not an environment any coach with trophy ambition wants to work in, let alone Jose Mourinho.

While all the focus is being put on the penalty call, this is another game in which Spurs struggled to form coherent attacking patterns against a team in relegation scrap. Sound familiar?

There is some wisdom to the fact that Spurs players look tired and the squad is thin etc but there is absolutely no pulse in the team and a lot of questions need to be asked of what, if any Jose is trying to implement in training and why none of it seems to be coming off.

It can be both Levy and Mourinho who are destroying your club. Often people would blame Woodward during Mourinho's tenure as well and he definitely had a good chunk of blame to shoulder, but after 15 months and with a competent manager we seem to be back on track and Woodward, who gave Mourinho just under £362m in two years, doesn't seem so bad.

Mourinho will destroy any enjoyment you get from supporting your club, he will make you ambivalent to watching your club and he'll spend his time there blaming everyone else but himself. Good luck with it and don't tell us we didn't warn you.

I think we will see a lot of loan deals this summer window - much more then normal and that will suit us. Big players will not be going for big money - it will be loans. That is just my own view and I guess we will see if I am right or not in a few months.

How the hell did over 700 people vote that he’d win a trophy at spurs!?

Oh don't worry - every other post in this thread is people telling me again and again the same thing about Jose. It is fair to say you have all made your opinion very clear.

Now you've just responded to yourself; clearly Mourinho has already broken you.

While there may have been a bit of exaggeration to Colin's post, it's pretty insane how blind you are to see how badly coached the team is. The guy is being paid 15m a year and can't set the team up to create a shot on goal against Bournemouth?

He's got a certain sect of fans who buy wholeheartedly into his cult of personality which is why irregardless of results or performance, you'll always hears loads of shouts of 'he's still a serial winner and one of the greatest, its the board/players/refs/pitch/weather/diet/positioning of the moon that are shite and letting him down!'

The club has broken me right now - Jose may be part of that but it's way more than him. I just can't wait for this horrible season to end.

Please do point out the post when I said I thought the team was well coached or that I haven't acknowledged how awful we are right now as a side? I thought I'd made that pretty clear. We are relegation candidates next year if this continues. Part of that is Jose but a lot more of it is down to how the club has been run in the past few years.

And if we accept that the Spurs squad is in fact THIS bad, that it needs complete gutting - then, as we know only too well, Mourinho is the worst possible man for that job.

Hook, like and stinker

Reminds me of his honeymoon period when he signed with us where he was uncharacteristically positive and talked up getting back to playing the United way only to revert to his true self at the first signs of adversity

It genuinely isn't though.

Kane / Son/ Moura/ Lo Celso with Ndombele and a good DM is still a very decent starting 11.

It's just Mourinho. Whatever he does sucks the life out of players. They look so unmotivated and lose any confidence, they almost forget what the right thing to do is.

I can't explain how but it's no coincidence he did it with United and now immediately at Spurs too.

Time will tell and i'm sure Mourinho will get another season at Spurs, but I won't be surprised at all to see them get even worse before it gets better.

A thumping against Arsenal this weekend and he could be under big pressure already.

Truly diabolical stuff that half against fecking Bournemouth ffs
That is truly embarrassing. I know when we slapped Bournemouth it was at Old Trafford but at least we dominated them. Jose was a really terrible choice for spurs which I said to someone. Think they should of stuck with Poch as I I think he could turned Spurs eventually

I thought he'd win one, one trophy shouldn't be asking too much, and he'd always managed to at least get a League cup. Looks like a mad suggestion on my part now, but it made sense at the time of his appointment. We all knew it would end in meltdown, but this quickly? Impressive.
