Imagine if that was maguireAnd the messiah Van Dijk with a huge mistake to boot. They are slowly and surely starting to regress to their mean after two fantastic years.

They're gonna throw away the Chelsea game aren't they?
It's Liverpool. Remember the back pass from Gerrard to Drogba?
Great post. They have had a brilliant season and you can't take that away from them, but Klopp deserves some criticism with his obsession on the PL records. The feature between Carragher and Keane is spot on looking back at it now. Carragher was singing the praises of the Liverpool side saying they are on course for all these sort of records and Keane just simply pointed out that they are a great team but let's wait to see what they win (at the time, they were in CL, PL, FA Cup) and stated you don't getting nothing for the records, it's trophies won.
Klopp put out a weakened team in the FA Cup to rest players for the league when it was won in Jan. If they had played a full strength team against Chelsea and lost then yeah fair enough, but he prioritised these records over a trophy. I'm not sure what happened with the CL in terms of resting players beforehand or not, but I'm sure there was an opportunity to rest players in the PL before and in-between these games and he didn't? I'm not saying they would have won both these trophies as well but it could have been an historic season if they had, instead he chased historic number of points etc and it's backfired in that respect as they aren't going to achieve that and they missed out on the 2 others trophies.
I can fully understand Klopp prioritizing the league to an extreme degree. Liverpool as a club have been desperate to win the league, and to be the manager who breaks their curse must have been a big target. He will be remembered and praised for that by the club and fans for the rest of his life. He have already won the CL with them, so of course he was going to focus whole-heartedly on the league. And yes, maybe Klopp has been tempted a bit to pursue a perfect season with no losses. I can't blame him for that. Would have made him an eternal hero and legend for the club. When you think back at Arsenals success in the 2000's, you instantly think of the invincibles season. They have had a brilliant season and you can't take that away from them, but Klopp deserves some criticism with his obsession on the PL records. Its why I don’t bother with punditry anymore. They’re all the fecking same and Sky constantly push any sort of agenda they can find. I used to be one of those who would watch the pre match build up and all the post match but now I’d rather do other things. I’ll simply just watch the game then switch off, I always watch highlights the day after it’s aired so I can Skip the ‘analysis’ and just watch the football.I know the media all love Liverpool, but Match Of the day was a fecking joke. No criticism to Van Dick at all. Gary Lineker actually said he made the "mistake" because they had already won the League. Never heard so much crap.
Going to hear all these excuses today from sky, talksport and the fecking rest.
They definitely wanted a record points total.I honestly don't think Chelsea will win.
Liverpool are 49 home league games unbeaten... they will definitely want to get to 50!

And taking into account that Liverpool has been serial bottlers after being top of the league at christmas in previous seasons, I too would focus all my energy on the league until it was mathematical impossible to bottle it.
I don't think that Liverpool fans for years to come will look back at this season with a sour taste un their mouths. They will remember it for the season where they finally managed to win the league after 30 years of waiting despite being thrown out of the CL and the FA Cup.
The signing of Jonathan WoodgateWhat Miracle in Madrid is your username about?
Fixed. We should have a filter that adds the asterisk any time Liverpool and title are mentioned. This league title* win is starting to look a bit underwhelming by the way they're finishing the season. In the end, they didn't break any record set previously.

Ah feck beat me to it. Great minds thoughThe signing of Jonathan Woodgate
I'm exactly the same mate. When I was younger, I watched every game that was on and all the pre and post match analysis, if it was United or any team. My God though, it is atrocious these days. If United are on, I may watch the build up but I normally only stick around afterwards to see if the players or Ole says anything. If it's just a random game, I'll only stick around for the 90 minutes. MOTD I tape, so I can skip all the analysis and watch the highlights. Its why I don’t bother with punditry anymore. That doesn't sound right so quick check... yeah they only lost 3 in the CL. 8 is still quite a lot for a supposed superteam, no need to embellish it.10th loss of the season. 5 in the CL, 3 in the league and 1 in each domestic cup.
We lost only 4 in 98/99 in all comps.
Best team ever my backside.
honestly were it not for the corona break; I think it’s very conceivable that they wouldn’t have wrapped the league up yet. They went into the break in horrible form and looked dead on their feetLiverpools last 13 games in all competitions

I LOVE that kid!Is the thread title written by a kid?
SameI LOVE that kid!
They blew the competition away lads and gave themselves the luxury of being able to lose their last few games 10 -0 and it wouldnt make a jot of difference. This league title win is starting to look a bit underwhelming by the way they're finishing the season. In the end, they didn't break any record set previously.
They lost 3 in the group stage and 2 against atletico Madrid 8n the knockout rounds. That doesn't sound right so quick check... yeah they only lost 3 in the CL. 8 is still quite a lot for a supposed superteam, no need to embellish it.
What? No they didn't. Am I hallucinating? Are you confusing them with Salzburg? They won four, drew one, lost one. They lost 3 in the group stage and 2 against atletico Madrid 8n the knockout rounds.
