No. Ignoring Chelsea completely, if we beat West Ham, Leicester would need to win by the same margin to beat us to the CL place.
No they wouldn’t. In the final game our GD goes down as theirs goes up.

Make absolutely no mistake, this West Ham side and manager would love nothing more than to feck up our chances of CL qualification
Exactly. They'll play out of their fecking skin. Draw all day long this.

No. People on here are really struggling with how GD works
Tbf I think everyone has a decent grasp, they're just failing to recognise that in this instance the 2 are playing one another.

Let’s be honest, if we can’t beat West Ham at home with that team, then we don’t really deserve to be in the CL regardless of what happens on Sunday.
    Completely agree with this.

We are so obviously weak in the full back areas. Easily the weakest part of our team, imo.

Hope De Gea has a good game today and in the next one.

Expecting a performance from Noble like it's a world cup final.

you know what I mean. and yes this season is better than Jose's 17-18 season which we all knew was only going to get worse from then on, because this season's team is actually young and improving with time rather than getting shitter. no one expected us to challenge for the title this year
Yeah it's better to get to the last 2 games fighting to get 4th spot with max points we'll get gonna be 68 than to be comfortably second with 81 points.

Does this team have more future than 17/18 one ? Yes it's, and I'm optimistic about upcoming season hopefully, but comparing individual seasons it's nonsense to say this one is better than 17/18.

This one is on bar with 15/16 which were both poor. Our good seasons post SAF have been 16/17, followed by 17/18 and 14/15. The rest are poor. This has been a pretty poor season overall but we picked a great form by the end of it which hopefully will make us have a very good season next one.

I'm not saying I don't want to win, or course I do. And as acknowledged above a win will put us in a more comfortable position.

However, I'm not "nervous" because it doesn't really change things. The only result tonight that really changes Sunday is if we get an absolute cricket score.

Remember though, if we beat West Ham 4-0 today that doesn't mean Leicester need to beat us 4-0, they would only need 2-0.
We beat them 3-0 and we can afford to lose by one goal to Leicester.

We win today and Chelsea need at least one win in their last two games to finish ahead of us. They play Liverpool away and Wolves home so it's not a foregone conclusion at all.

The only thing I'm willing to admit is that no matter what happens tonight, our fate will be in our own hands in the final game. But a win here can make Sunday a lot less stressful.

Looking forward to this tonight, the lads have a point to prove after Chelsea and I have full faith in them to get the results we need in these next two games.

Good. I know he's only getting rested but AWB has no business starting home games against this calibre of opposition.

This team really should win but even a loss isn‘t the end of the world. It just means you have to beat Leicester in their stadium on the weekend (hard but doable) but still not being able to beat fecking West Ham at home at this stage is ridiculous.

Hopefully we trash these feckers like 5-0 so Leicester have to win by 2 clear goals or whatever, meaning they have play really open football from the get go to the point there will be space for us to hurt them and it would be impossible to not score against them.

Why do people keep repeating that a draw or win changes nothing, are you literally forgetting that Chelsea is a point ahead and are absolutely not certain to win their next two games? I'm pretty convinced that a win tonight will see us into the top four anyway.

Fairly happy with that lineup. AWB was tired and we need the full backs to get forward and back quickly tonight to open areas of the pitch up.

De Geas kept his place? wow

Read something today about De Gea knowing he has no real competition at the club so that causes complacency. I say bring Henderson back and genuinely give both players a fair chance to claim the number 1 spot. Nothing but good will come from it.
Not sure why people are surprised by this. There's no way Ole would sub DDG for the last 2 games.

Regarding the second part. He actually implied that in his pre-match conference. Something like "we have to stick together now, get the season done and re-evaluate our position at the end".

I expect them to beat Wolves, but you never know. A 3-0 win or more would be ideal tonight so we can afford a defeat in the last game.

Huge game with no margin for error. Brave call from Ole to retain De Gea; let's hope it's vindicated. West Ham aren't mathematically safe just yet, so we must expect to be in a competitive game. However, we should be far too good, knowing Champions League is in our own hands.

    4-1 United.

yeah I largely agree w that. I mean at least we've gotten to final day with some good feelings about the future, unlike every season bar 16/17 and 14/15 I'd say. And unlike those two, I don't think these ones are unfounded. our young forward line genuinely is excellent

West Ham have a history of playing as if their lives depended on it in apparently meaningless fixtures. They have also had some decent results and performances since the restart.

Pretty clear as well that Moyes is bitter from his time with us and would like nothing more than to feck up our CL hopes.

Liverpool are on vacation, their trophy presentation today is the small glimmer of hope they will show up. Wolves will have Europa to play for on the last day, but it's the last game, a lot of these final day fixtures are garbage. Plus Chelsea are able to beat Wolves unlike us.

The entire Caf should be forced to do a quiz on the rules of Goal Difference and if you get it wrong you get banned.

How do people still not understand how it works?
 Remember a couple of years ago the goals away debacle on the caf?

We are 28 GD on par with Leicester.

If we win 4:0, we ll be 3 pts ahead and 4 goals ahead so Leicester would need to beat us by a 3 goals margin i suppose
You do realise every goal in that game is a 2 goal swing because you've to add one team's goal scored and the other team's goals conceded?

We finished 6th with 69 points that season; if we end up in the top 4 and win the EL this season will have to be considered a better one. Unless the League Cup overshadows everything else in your estimation.

Going to need our front 5 (even though Pogba's been playing very deep alongside Matic) on form here.

Yeah our form in the end of this season gives me a big hope that we're starting to move on the right track and next season will be really good. Fingers crossed it turns out to be like that next season.
