Suggesting that Gerrard didn't get recognition when he retired is certainly a hot take.Scholes, Rooney, Yaya, Gerrard, Lampard, there’s lots
They never got nearly as much as Silva has this last couple of months, hell Rooney was barely mentioned when he was going to the US.You feel these players were "a lot better players" than David Silva, and also that they "never got any recognition" when they left the PL or retired...?
There was a very specific season in which I would gladly, and justifiably, picked Mata over Silva, but you're both right of course.Yeah, Mata was as productive (or even more productive) than Silva at some point, but those comparisons, while justified at the time, usually ended up with Silva as the winner.
To be fair mata was putting up ridiculous numbers for us.There was a very specific season in which I would gladly, and justifiably, picked Mata over Silva, but you're both right of course.
At that time, I don't remember other offers from any top teams. He tend to get overshadowed by his spanish compatriots eg. Iniesta, Xavi, etc.“and getting two salaries off my club like all the other mercenaries here.”
That aside, he’s a magical footballer and seems like a great fella. It’s a pity he wasted his career at a club like City, though. Absolutely nobody cares about them. His talent deserved to be eulogised week after week at a proper footballing powerhouse.
Evidence please, then take it to CAS. What a rubbish comment.“and getting two salaries off my club like all the other mercenaries here.”

We have plenty of mercenaries, too, mate.Evidence please, then take it to CAS. What a rubbish comment.
Its good that all United players are there for the badge and not the money.
Yeah 20 goals and 35 assists. That's the season I was referring to.To be fair mata was putting up ridiculous numbers for us.
One season he had like 30 plus assists and loads of goals too.
Almost every player at every club is a mercenary, let's be honest here.“and getting two salaries off my club like all the other mercenaries here.”

Whaaaat? Of those only Yaya, I think. Mainly because he hardly played in his last two seasons plus made himself a meme.Scholes, Rooney, Yaya, Gerrard, Lampard, there’s lots
35 Assists in a season?! That can’t be rightYeah 20 goals and 35 assists. That's the season I was referring to.
Absolutely.Almost every player at every club is a mercenary, let's be honest here.
In all competitions I'm guessing...35 Assists in a season?! That can’t be right

Wait a second. There are City fans who actually think their players aren't being paid off book?Evidence please, then take it to CAS. What a rubbish comment.

Silva as I have been saying ever since his first season at City. Mata was more of a leader at Valencia with Silva being 3rd behind him and Villa, but when he moved to City Silva's productivity went up and has been the better player since then
I actually went flip reverse! I believed your hype and rated Mata more once he went Chelsea I still think Man Utd have ruined his legacy in that regard. I reckon this debate could have been more close if Mata had a coach like Pep. He’s always been surrounded with pragmatic managers since Mourinho’s return.Silva as I have been saying ever since his first season at City. I think he was obviously a key player for Chelsea when they won the champions league and was a great player at that time himself, but Silva was overall better. I haven't been impressed by Mata at all since he joined United - and you know thats my honest thoughts because it would suit me to say he's still a great player and look at me everyone, I picked him at 19 years old I'm so clever. But no, I liked him as the left side of the attack for Valencia, I liked him behind the striker at Chelsea - I dont rate him on the right and over the years he's had several runs in the middle and wasnt great there either.I actually went flip reverse! Mata's biggest mistake was joining United at the wrong moment of our historyThere was a very specific season in which I would gladly, and justifiably, picked Mata over Silva, but you're both right of course.
He wasn't that bald to begin with. He only needed to fill in the sides and fix his receding hairline, but his density was and is great. That was an easy job to be honestI will always remember David Silva as the man who gave hope to all balding guys. The most successful and greatest ever hair transplant in the history of human hair. Adios David Silva I will always miss your hair.
Plenty of players came to United with wages a thought, but in the early days of City I'd put money down that there's good undisclosed, as well as disclosed financial reasons they won the race for Aguero, Silva, Dzeko, Tevez and Yaya without having CL football.Evidence please, then take it to CAS. What a rubbish comment.

Why would they?Wait a second. There are City fans who actually think their players aren't being paid off book?
Because they were caught rotten doing it with Mancini, because none of their players ever, ever get linked with moves to more prestigious clubs and because their owners own resorts, banks and infrastructure in havens such as the Seychelles for the precise reason of spending their money in ways regular authorities can't catch them. Why would they?

Why would anyone squeal? For one thing they'd be biting the hand that fed them and for another, nobody wants to get slapped by the power of that hand after pissing them off. It's definitely happening with players. We've had enough players leave under a cloud and for the amount of players that have been through the club I just don't see it happening with players, someone would have squealed by now if they were

Give your head a wobble ffsScholes, Rooney, Yaya, Gerrard, Lampard, there’s lots
It's almost impossible... Feck off now to Spain you annoyingly good footballer..Wow. He achieved just that. Even rivals fans admire him. Too difficult to hate him.
You trying to say any of them players aren’t better than Silva?Give your head a wobble ffs
