Has anything really changed? If €120m is the price that everyone knows then if it’s paid, it’s done. Regardless of contract extension or not, if they’ve quoted a price and it’s met, it’s done.

They paid that fee cos of the Neymar sale though. Everyone knew how much Barca got and hiked the price accordingly. The opposite should be true here where the fee is more realistic.

I'm not upset by it but why do Dortmund only now have a backbone? Pulisic went to Chelsea for £58m. Aubameyang went to Arsenal for £56m. Is Sancho worth double those two to Dortmund? I don't get why they are suddenly playing such hardball with us. We have done business before for Kagawa and Mkhitaryan so it doesn't feel like we have poor relationship with Dortmund.
Sancho is a better player and prospect than Dembele was. Hes a better player worth more than Auba or Pulisic. Auba as well was a lot older when he left, and Pulisic im pretty sure had 1.5 seasons left on his contract and was a bench player behind Sancho despite being older (and he never found consistency).

Howard Nurse: 'Deal for Sancho close, agreed terms. £4.5m from Man City. Here we go!'

Evra didn’t have a choice. Woody activated the extra year.
Are you sure? I thought Evra was a free agent at the time and a quick google says he signed a new extension in 2014 not a extension clause. Still, I think it is almost the only example I've heard of it happening.

Calm down! Next step is a transfer request by Sancho surely. All part of negotiations.

Yep, it has always been that simple. We are making a meal out of this transfer.

We know the price, if we cannot pay it move on to other targets.

I’m not sure we have 120m to spend this summer anyway, let alone on one player.

Who the feck even is Daniel Harris? Did he not recently say the deal was completed? Looks like a ridiculous claim now in hindsight

In English, uses the word 'Plan' doesn't sound so convinced!

The english communication is bit more vague than Zorc, might be intentional or not

"We count on Sancho. He'll play for us next season. The decision is definitive. This should answer all questions, I reckon."

These are some pretty bold statements. If there's any backpedaling to be achieved, it won't be for any less than those €120m.

This just shows how little Romano and other journalists actually know about the situation. They are briefed what the clubs want them and us to know..
That’s not the case whatsoever, just because it’s not the news you wanted, doesn’t mean people like Romano are any less credible

Seriously, does Ed intentionally try to piss off the selling club? If we agreed everything why did he have to try and pull the wool over their eyes?

Woody extended it, Evra confirmed that was the reason he was pissed at him.

Well it was nice having the hope that our owners and management were serious about getting us back challenging. Backing out on Sancho is 100% just a lack of ambition and just shows that they're ok with being top 4 challengers at best.

City strengthening, Liverpool already at the top, Chelsea aggressively strengthening... United have to do substantial reinforcements this summer, or else we're fecked next season.
Bit early to judge isn't it? We could go out and sign a CB, a RW, a CM and still have change left over if we choose not to do this deal. When Ferran Torres moves for €23m it does make Sancho seem awfully expensive.

The meltdown is incredible.

It’s not Fifa or FM

Lots of contracts have little clauses in them which of course takes TIME

Relax.

Err what? If we pay we still get him.

TBF to Dortmund, if he's got 3 years on his contract, it's a fair price.
Would be very surprised if Zork does a 180 and sells him now. There's not much wiggle room to back out of that sort of definitive statement.

I'm not disagreeing that it's a fair price, I believe it is, and that we should have paid it before the deadline they gave.
