So he has a contract until 2023.. It gives Dortmund more leverage for sure, but I'm in the Daniel Harris camp and think the player will hand in a transfer request.

Why does he have to know that? Also Sancho hasn't signed any extension since the last one which was announced by the way
Because it’s pretty relevant don’t you think

not to mention the obvious, that if he has a source in the club that are providing updates on the transfer, surely to god that would form part of said updates.

If it’s true that his contract is extended till 2023 then there is no way we are getting a cheaper deal next summer. Might as well pay up this year or move on and fix other areas of the pitch.

Don't think that will do much.

Dortmund would still want 120m.

But then why would he go back to training with BVB then?
Also why wasn't United informed of the contract till 2023 by the player's (Sancho's agent)?
That extension till 2023 gives all the leverage to Dortmund now.

Still love your optimism though. But I think the deal is off if United doesn't hand over Dortmund's asking price.

This post is not only an example of newbie system letting us down, but that the education system has let us down.

No wonder we have anti-vaccers and flat-Earthers.

This is the only thing that will kick life back into this now imo.

Sancho seems to know what he wants, brave enough to go abroad when he had the chance, hopefully he will hand in a transfer request to get us back in the game.

Its not actually that relevant, because the player has not signed any extension since the last one which was announced. Again devil is in the detail of what Zorc said.

He never once said that his source was the club. What he said was that negotiations are taking place and that its up to the clubs if Sancho leaves for United. He also said that the deadline of Aug 10th is not a real deadline.

I'm not even backing him as an ITK, it just that you seem to be attempting to look for holes that are not there

Are the clubs still going to continue negotiations, well yes obviously

Also anyone who thinks Sancho, his agent and United didn't already know about his contract is having a laugh, this revelation actually changes nothing in the negotiations apart from whats in the press

That was the only way it was ever being done

Doubt we pay up now because there is a good chance that next season is played in empty stadiums and the financial situation will deteriorate. There is a reason nobody else was linked at the price and I honestly only think we were getting mentioned because that has been the narrative for almost a year now. If Dortmund were needing to drop the price to generate cash then maybe it would have materialized but as they say they don't need to I can't imagine we have any real interest in doing this. We have greater areas of need anyway.

I can't believe that you think that United officials didn't know about his contract.

Haha why the feck does he have credibility?
He doesn't. Out of all the journalists reporting, he was the only one who said the deal was agreed, and now today has backtracked.

Sancho will wave goodbye to a significant sum though which could be decisive. Hopefully Rashford and Lingard are guiding him via the WhatsApp group chat.

It seems like that though. All the UK media (including United mouthpieces) all seems surprised by Zorc's statement about the extension till 2023.

I will be even more disappointed if the new rumblings about loans for Coman or Douglas Costa coming out now are true.

I still believe United will pay up but it seems there is much less room for maneuvering and haggling now.

Come on we actually negotiate with agent and Player. Do you really think we don't know the length of the contract?

They are not United by the way.

Not too sure why so many people are giving up after Zorc's comments. He's said that with about every other player that's left Dortmund in the past 5 years. Plus apparently we've already offered 120mill just not in the instalments Dortmund want. It's happening, just a matter of when.

No idea what you’re banging on about
It's not a riddle. Basically people think Romano is the messiah now like they used to think Di Marzio was. When the reality is they are probably just chancers.

Romano can't have any inside knowledge if he didn't know about the contract extension. They are all full of shit basically.

Transfer requests aren’t handed in these days as the player would have to give up his loyalty bonus. Can’t see it happening tbh.

While not signing Jadon Sancho is a big hit, I don't think it's the biggest.

To me, that would be a hit to the club's reputation and standing. We are known as the club who can use big money and get the very best amongst our younger players in a squad.

We are also known to be able to attract the very best players in thee world.
If Sancho is happy to stay at Dortmund, over Manchester United, the club looks like a laughing stock. Especially given we're also in the Champions League come next season.
Even if he has agreed personal terms, it means nothing, as he sees Dortmund as a viable option for him instead of United.

While there's still a chance, however it may be decreasing, my biggest concern is the clubs constant lack of being able to attract the very best players in Europe anymore.

It actually feels a bit like other clubs like to take the piss out of United and we allow them to.
Get a grip. That has nothing to do with United and almost everything to do with the fact that there are a lot more big money clubs out there these days with money to spend. And that's ignoring the impact COVID-19 has had on those same financials. Dortmund will be looking to maximize profit just as much as we re trying to control expenditures. That's no different from any other major multi million dollar business - which is what we and Dortmund, and most other clubs in the top leagues - are.

Wtf?

It’s you that’s clearly confused which is probably why your easily led by a blue tick and talk of ‘tier 1’

I meant Romano didn’t even know Sancho’s contract had been extended at Dortmund, so after this window he still has two full years left on his contract, not only 1, which is a HUGE reason why Dortmund are playing hardball.

Other posters have pointed this out as well.

Have you read the thread or just skim through for Romano tweets? C’mon man.
Can you point out the tweet where Romano referenced Sancho contract at Dortmund?

Also this is hilarious, you have 2 examples where Zorc outright lied about his own players, and you are still backing him over Romano on the crux or this transfer. Zorc isn't going to say anything close to the truth re. Selling sancho. Dortmund previously denied all negotiations and now Zorc has refused to comment on them, giving away that they've taken place (as reported by Romano).
