They aren’t tired now. They’ve had ages off with lockdown before coming back and now a decent little break. We’re just shit at keeping motivated and focussed enough to look good.

Tired after 2 weeks off, behave, we are seriously lacking quality, and killer instinct. The last 5 games have been dire.

We just aren’t very good - we had a purple patch when Bruno came in but teams have figured out how to play us.

Narrow back 4 because we want to come inside all the time and our full backs aren’t very good, and have two midfielders sit deep in front of the back 4.

It’s not rocket science.

Two weeks isn't enough to recharge the batteries after the amount of games we played post lockdown with no rotation. It's why so many players need more time off after an international tournament or they look off when rushed back.

And you don’t think other teams are just as tired? Come off it, the desire is just not there. This team needs some serious motivation. We’ve been moaning all year about getting top 4 for CL, the way this team is playing, we’d be embarrassing in that competition. Like I said, these players need some serious motivation, not excuses.

We looked tired against Leicester as well. You're kidding yourself if you think the players put in all that work to get top four only to suddenly lose motivation in the last couple of games.

I don't think they're tired, I honestly think they see the EL as beneath them now we've made the CL. Which is mad as a fair few of them have never won anything.

We'll smash this team in the second half.

may be our manager is not good enough , instead of putting all blame on tiredness ?

I think tiredness is often what teams look like when something just isn't working - be it because the opponent is frustrating the team effectively or because the team isn't working because of some issue with the setup. Time for some tinkering, I'd think.

Agreed. This 'tired' excuse is overplayed. Everyone post lockdown has been playing in a compressed schedule. The team hasn't played well towards the end of the season. We won that Leicester match because they were sloppy and undermanned, if it was full strength team we would have a lost. Against this team they should dominate, no excuses.

We'd be title winners if they divide next season up into 3 month chunks

Yeah we are missing Shaw more than anything. Our fullbacks are terrible going forward.

The team lacks a brain, that's why players look labored, unmotivated and devoid of ideas.

I get it's been a long season but feck me, there just had a week off and they are elite athletes, this is literally all they do.

So frustrating to watch, as I'm sure the lads are frustrated too.

Worrying though

Here's the time where lack of competition starts to bite.

Who's going to come on and make a positive impact on this game? No one. Who in our front five is looking over their shoulder at someone on the bench eyeing their position? No one.

We have 5 good attacking players and if some of them dont turn up we can't play football and we can only bring on Championship standard replacements.

How would you rate Mata’s performance?

I mean it’s Copenhagen ffs. Stop with the excuses.

Does mental fatigue come into this at all? Don’t you think it’s funny that the teams in the league who had nothing to play for looked less tired. Also we didn’t rotate like how others did (through to necessity). Having the same team play every 3 days doesn’t give enough time for muscle recovery.

I must be watching a different game because I don’t think we’ve looked tired today. Off the pace sure (maybe not even that motivated for the comp?) but not tired.

Blaming fatigue is just a lazy excuse in the absence of evidence of any other cause.
We are just not very good, especially in possession.

We have gotten stronger as the game has gone on.
It seems we are lacking a bit of sharpness in front of goal. Its an extreme example of our game v Spurs.
I wonder how intense our training has been since Leicester.

Players look like a 1970s FA cup final team at full time, WTF's going on and why wasn't Rashford taken off for Ighalo when obviously he was spent mid way 2nd half?

We're definitely overplaying it and over complicating it around the box.

I like Martial but I'd be interested to see Greenwood in the center. No BS with him, if there's a sniff of a chance he goes for it.

2 weeks off???? They still been training mate. They got a few days off at most.

Also our pre season started 13 months ago. They look totally shattered. Fans on here have no idea the stress a season has on the body. They run themselves into the ground.

I don't think we look that tired, we were all over them for the majority of the game.
He's not wumming, he's just the most pessimistic poster in Cafe history. He'd cancel his summer holidays because his taxi to the airport was a minute late.
