He help set up the first goal, and while not the star of of the show, made decent choices with the ball.
And you are wrong, he was definitely linked with with big money transfers, just search up RM + Lewandowski, also, Bayern is a big club so its not like he can do much better, its like asking why Iniesta was rarely linked away with big money transfer.
He didn’t make decent choices with the ball at all. Every time he was in the final third he seemed to make a mess of it.

I know Bayern are a biggish club, but it doesn’t stop most of their other stars from being constantly and seriously linked with other teams.

However, like I said, I haven’t seen a lot of him. I rarely watch the Bundesliga and the UCL is usually during my working hours.

This thread should be re-named "Admit you don't watch much football".
Not necessarily. One might just not watch a lot of the league / teams in question. And “admit” would be the wrong word, as spending all of your time watching football would hardly be a brag. I’m happy that I “only” have time to watch one or two games a week.

3rd best scorer in CL history I think. So basically the best scorer not named Ronaldo/Messi.

And he was linked to Madrid several times.
How serious were the Madrid links? I live in Spain and can’t remember any serious ones (doesn’t mean they didn’t happen mind!).

Also it’s much easier to rack up goals in the UCL than previous generations. If you play for a half decent team (top 3/4 every season) then you get into the UCL every season. There are more games than previous seasons (minimum 6, you could say minimum 8 for Bayern) and there are lots more also-rans getting into the tournaments as it is bigger.

How come so few players are scoring at Ronaldo's, Messi's and even Lewandowski's rate, then? If Lewandowski is rubbish, you would think someone like Agüero would be way above him. Odd argument to make.
You might want to ask Chelsea fans what they think about him. 4 assists and 3 goals in two games...

An alternative thread would be players who are always slammed by their own supporters or others as being shite but are actually quite good whenever you see them. Persic and Willian would be my choices on that one. Freely admit that I don't watch their clubs regularly though. I'm constantly told they're crap and yet they always seem to play well when I see them. Not world class by any means but good players.

I would imagine that there are few players that play so many games, as a striker, in a top team. Lukaku has great goalscoring stats which do not represent his quality.

As you mentioned him, Aguero has a decent UCL record but doesn’t play as much as Lewandowski.

Anyway, I think one of us has misunderstood the thread. I understood it to be a “players you haven’t seen play well” thread (but have a good reputation). Not a “ask Chelsea fans if this player is good” thread. Also, I didn’t say he’s rubbish.

This seems a much more interesting idea.

I would add:
Gundogan
Adebayor (at Arsenal)
Marcus Rashford (I'm reaching here)

Everytime I’ve watched Perisic he’s been very good, especially for Croatia. Not so sure about Willian though.

Btw, this is about Lewandowski.
So, let me get this straight... Bayern is only a somewhat bigish club, their players get constantly and seriously linked to other (probably bigger..?) clubs, but not Lewandowski, since he’s not good enough. But you can’t be certain in regards to the above since you basically neither watch BuLi nor CL? Is this correct or did I miss something?

And regarding Lewandowski not being linked: Perez was desperate to sign him but he had already given Bayern his word.

I didn’t say he’s not good enough. I said I’ve never seen him play well. There is a HUGE difference there. Maybe you should read the OP.

I have probably seen him play less than 10 times, but there are many other players who I have seen a similar amount of times and who have looked exceptional. Examples: Foden, Aubeyang, Pulisic, Mbappe.

Come to think of it, I’ve seen Sancho a similar amount of times (mainly for England) and he’s never impressed me, either. But his stats and reputation are excellent and I’d love us to signed him based on hear’say.

Yeah, feel the same although as I said maybe I just haven't seen him enough. Would paying 50 million have been too much in Jose's second season? Probably and maybe it was the right choice, but given our other transfer business over the years it's not exactly out of the ordinary to pay a bit extra. Would have been a better/cheaper signing overall than Sanchez  :(

Joe Gomez. Absolutely shocking when I've happened to see him.

And I'm not even doubting he's a top talent as I know its the general consensus.

Agree with the Cavani and Zlatan shouts. For a long time i thought they were absolute enigma's that never played well when I watched them. I seen Cavani have a fantastic game a couple of seasons ago, and I've warmed to him since. I didn't rate Zlatan until he was at PSG, and around the time he banged 4 in against England

You’re reaching for another universe. You’re reaching so far that I’ll remember your alias and just scroll past your comments from now on.

Skriniar, everytime I watch him he is getting dominated by a nameless forward.

Bernadeschi and Chiesa are good shouts.

Some crazy names in this thread. Such as Buffon, One of the best goalkeepers who ever lived.

More of a 'who have you only played once' thread

In the first almost 15 years of the Premier League there were hundreds of players with absolutely no quality whatsoever.

Perez even admitted a few weeks ago, that he was desperate to sign Lewandowski until last year, but "some players are just not possible to sign", such as Lewa.

The user is basically like: I never go out of my home, so I don't know if the sky is blue. It could be purple.

Lewandowski is one of the best #9 of the past 10 years and maybe/probably the best #9 today.

edit: From SportBild.

„Es gibt Spieler, die werden nicht verkauft“, sagte Perez laut „AS“ und „Marca“. Wir haben es bei Lewandowski mehrere Jahre lang probiert, und nichts ist passiert, weil er keine Klausel hat und sie ihn nicht verkaufen werden. Es gibt keine Möglichkeit.“ -

"There are players which are not for sale", Perez said according to "AS" and "Marca". "We have tried to sign Lewandowski for years, and nothing happened, because he has no release clause and they won't sell him. There is no possibility."

He also mentioned Paul Pogba in this context.

Cavani - I always used to see his name pop up on scoresheets yet every time I watched him, he seemed like a useless donkey.

Rui Costa - Always highly talked about back in the day yet never performed when I watched him play.
Ah ... I remember AC Milan vs Real Madrid in 03 I think. Masterclass - schooled the whole galactico lot

Harry Kane. Every time I watch him he's crap. Then he scores and everyone forgets how bad he was.
