Jan is right about what he's saying, still doesn't make him less of an attention seeking cretin.

Ban him once the Sancho saga is over.

He's presumptuous and a tool. I'd rather complain that Ole hasn't been backed if we don't see quality players through the door in 5 weeks, or it be briefed as such from now. But neither of that his happening, so yeah he's being a presumptuous bellend.
So you put no stock in being well organised and having the players in redy for the start of the season?

This thread serves no purpose, there hasn't been an update in days. It's mind-numbing seeing the same old rehashed tweets and arguments over and over again.

No I just don't think it's conclusive as of yet, one way or another.
Chelsea are doing fantastic business but other clubs seem relatively static.

What keeps this going is the lack of the usual brief by United after they have failed to sign a big target.

That said, to the Messi thread :)

Of course. That other bloke posted about this "briefing" earlier on this thread. This "info" then made it's way into the Twattersphere. And now it is posted here as some kind of proof. Seems like the Caf has finally caused a quantum singularity. Was nice knowing you all.
Another redcafe > internet > redcafe moment.... I remember when we signed Kaka ;)

Agreed.

Someone photoshop Sancho's head on Woody.

You definitely haven't seen much of Sancho and have idea just how good he is.
As someone with an almost voyeuristic interest in young English players moving abroad, you are definitely wrong.

It seems like you misunderstood my point as being "there are tens of potential transfer targets that are of similar standard to Sancho". My point was actually "the overall benefit to Manchester United of upgrading one of Greenwood/Martial/Rashford to Sancho, is less than the overall benefit of buying a very attacking good rotation option AND using the leftover money to invest in areas like centre back, left back or centre midfield".

martial out of greenwood is a better wide man but either way all 3 are strikers first
We should sign someone who knows how to play the position
We’d definitely have money to spend plus sancho, players will leave, maybe just one more but signing squad players is not the answer
Every single team signs squad players, the champions sign players who improve the first team
Depends on your definition of a squad player. If we signed Sancho then Greenwood would be a squad player. Indeed, squad players (particularly Leicester's lack of) were the reason we finished in the top 4.

I think you are overstating Martial/Rashford/Greenwood's lack of knowhow to play as wingers, but in any case, I'm not proposing to avoid buying a winger at all, just to buy a more economical one than Sancho. Relying on our potential sales to raise money for further incomings is a very risky game indeed.

Well another way to look at it would be that Barca need a new RW and have significant funds available all of a sudden without Messis wages.

Why do I suddenly get the feeling that we might be about to have a great little fool around with a mature lady round the back of the niteclub...while we watch the love of our lives leave with someone else when we had been getting on so well.

Could you imagine!

City get Messi after we get burnt, then they go for Sancho

In the next week they need to make a decision. Are they going to pay what is required for Sancho, or are they going to move on to other targets? What I do know is, if we have any aspirations at all, we can't go into next season without some upgrades. City and Liverpool had a large gap over us, and Chelsea have allocated significant money to improving their team that finished one point behind us. Do we want to compete for the top 3 and have a good CL run? or do we want to battle for 4th with teams like Tottenham, Arsenal, Wolves, etc and potentially go out in the group stages? or do we want to put forth some challenge in CL, and have a team that could at least be in the title discussion.

Could we use Messi as a negotiating tactic for Sancho somehow?
"The best player in the world has a clause that says he can go for free. Sancho isn't worth as much as Messi, follow the logic? Give us money + Sancho."
