A source close to Monaco now indicates that Badiashile will stay “unless Manchester make a Martial-like, unrefusable bid for him.” Bayer Leverkusen, who have been in talks to sign the player for weeks, intend to come back with a new offer regardless.

We’re trying to buy players from Dortmund and Monaco. They will 100% sell if we pay the money. We’re being stingy but you’d think we’d get a couple over the line by the end.
This isn’t a case of being stingy, the manager wants to keep him, wouldn’t be smart for the board to piss off their new manager. What we should really do is come back in January when Kovac’s been sacked.

A selection of translated quotes on a Monaco forum

" Badiashile and Ballo Touré are no longer in their first season in L1. Despite this, the two lads accumulate errors almost at every meeting. Tactical errors, nonchalance, etc."

" At 30M €, he is for sale without hesitation."

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.

So unless we make a bid they won’t refuse he’s staying. Insightful source

While you can sort of learn a bit about attackers from videos, for defenders it shows you very little. Which is for the best, since the video I just watched of him was unremarkable. He is, however, huge. So there’s that.

I'd walk away rather than offer more than €25m. His positioning is questionable and he isn't even that fast, especially in recovery pace, wouldn't be a starter for us that's for sure.

I for one didn't know Niko Kovac is now Monaco's manager. Is Fabregas still there?

Seems like Bayer have got the Havertz money and can potentially outbid us

How many times you seen him? What is it he's bad at?
Several.

He drifts out of position all the time and isn't physical enough for the top divisions never mind the premiership.

These can improve with experience I suppose.

If they want Martial money this won't happen. What is the point in spending £50 million or thereabouts on a centre-back that requires a lot of development?

If we sign him he'll be in and out of the side, may feature in a few reserve games here and there.

Lindelof and Maguire is our number 1 partnership for atleast another campaign.

Not ecstatic about this at all.

We need a ready made CB like Skriniar that can step in and play from day 1.

This lad will take time to develop. We already have Tuanzebe and Mengi filling that category.

Not to mention 2-3 more situations with terrible defending on his part. And those are just the ones shown in the highlights.
I agree, he'd be nothing but a back up at this moment in time, we need an upgrade on what we have to add depth, not hope another youngster comes good.

How do we rank him versus the other CBs we were linked with? Gabriel / Torres?
Gabriel has a lot of mistakes on him and his distribution really isn't there. Badiashile is much more composed on the ball and more physically ready despite being so young. Not so sure about Torres.

Skriniar has been poor this season. Conte dropped him despite having a 3 at the back system for his biggest games because of how bad he's been. He's slower than Lindelof.

How different is he from Mengi ? I mean, we surely won't be spending 25m unless we really thought he could be make a huge step ?

If he is not ready, I would rather stick with Mengi and give him time. Ofcourse I know nothing about both.

Unless United identified him as 19 year old CB who they believe will be the next Ferdinand / Varane (ie a generational talent), I agree

Judging by the monaco board reviews, he definitely isn't in that category at this stage of his career.

I'd be happy signing him, but if we're looking for someone to replace Lindelof in the first eleven next season, I doubt he is the one to do it. I'd put my money on Tuanzebe.

There is of course the possibility that Smalling, Jones and Rojo will all be gone so therefore we need to bring one more CB in.

Skriniar is crap mate

Lads he was fine in a back four and rated as one of the best in the world before Conte got there. Its been well documented that he hasn't fit in at all into the back 3 formation.

I'd take that gamble on Skriniar for 40-50m though. You don't become crap all of a sudden. People were crying out for him last summer.

Realistically we should be signing BOTH Badiashille and another top tier CB. Get rid of the deadwood too.

Keep in mind that these are kneejerk posts by the usual suspects. Their opinion on all subject is worthless. Now Badiashile isn't ready for a move and he shouldn't move, at least not to a big club.
