He has done what he can for Villa , he is going to be 25 in September. It would be better for him to move to a bigger club and show what he can do when he is approaching his prime.

Surely, playing 40 games for Manutd, Spurs or the like is better than 55 games for Villa ?
If he stays at Villa I’ll lose all respect for him from a professional stand point as well as personal. Surely any ambitious individual would want some success in their career or at least a real shot at it.

Villa offer him zero prospects other than guaranteed football at his boyhood club. Surely at 25 you’d move on?
Southgate has an eye for quality. Grealish is an average footballer.
You on the wind up?

Think he/she is. To think Southgate has called up Winks, Dier, Ward-Prowse and has the cheek to say he has an eye for quality. I mean, I'm taking anything away from those players, but they're nowhere near Grealish in terms of footballing quality. Each to their own though, I guess.

Not sure what you mean
He'd only be average if there were loads of superb footballers around him that make him look as such.

Who is better than him in England in his role? There's not loads. So how is he average?

If he has any ambition or hope of playing for England, he probably needs to leave Villa, which is a bit unfair.

Still, that's potentially good news for us.

I think a 50-60m deal for Grealish should be good for all three parties - player and both clubs.
The 80m talk is nonsense.

I think this is the best time to launch a bid for Grealish. He is down in the dumps and if we make him feel important, he will hand in a transfer request. 50 million will do. Trust me Jack would improve us massively. He is in my opinion a better footballer than Rashford. I don't want to argue with anyone but thats my opinion.

I do wonder if he's viewed as our if all else fails deadline day transfer

Obviously doesn't sort the RW but would give the front 3 another option/competition for Rashford

We'll have a mad crack at Messi, try for Sancho until the bitter end.

And last day go for Grealish if we have to.

Yeah this would be an absolute perfect time for Utd to strike whilst the iron is hot

Need Sancho & Jack because they offer very different things to this team, however certainly need to get at least Jadon if City sign the best player in the world this summer.

If we make a deadline day bid AV won’t be able to replace him. We should make a 40-10-10 or 50-5-5 bid asap.

Yeah shouldn't be waiting around and I don't want to see the club treating him as a last resort either because that's absolutely insulting.

Have we actually even been linked with him apart from a couple of metro / mirror articles?

Nothing he can do if they price him out of a move.

Hope this doesn't ruin our chances of signing him :nervous:
Yeah me neither and don't punish us for a decision that Southgate has made. He needs to instead relish the opportunity of playing alongside him next season

Stupid and insighting response from the manager.
Grealish deserve to be there ahead of a few midfielders.

Yeah he definitely does, just heard a City fan go in on him on Talksport and then guess who else he had a pop at after eulogising over Foden

Feel for him today, he deserves a call up, he has been so good for villa. Really good I’m a average team. Needs to move ASAP! It’s wether he has the heart to force a move.

I’m not really getting this one. He’s had a few really good seasons and we’ve seen him flat out at his best but we could probably do 2 better and smarter transfers for as much as he would cost. I think he’s just too expensive and we have too many positions to fill. You never know with United though. They’ll probably end up buying him in very early Oct for the same amount Chelsea paid for Havertz

Grealish needs to move to a club that will play him in midfield where he can show off his full repertoire. He's never going to get in the England squad as a wing specialist.

How bizarre.

Leave a left or central attacking midfielder out because a teen striker who has been playing out right has been smashing the goals in?!
