It just seems that every transfer United is involved in is a long and protracted saga. Then you have Chelsea who have signed go knows how many players without so much as a fuss from the selling clubs. I guarantee you that if we were in for Chilwell it would've gone on for ages.
It seems that way because you closely follow Manchester United and (probably) don't closely follow Chelsea. Chelsea have been documented to have been chasing Chilwell and Havertz for at least 2 months now.

You all need to stop contrasting United's transfer window with Chelsea's. Chelsea are the exception to this transfer window, no other club will come close to their movement. Yes, it is frustrating but we are not the same club.

How could City possibly get a 500 Million pound transfer past FFP? Especially with a reduced income due to Covid19.
500m ? He will be on a free.. and will sign a 200k/week contract.. He will also become the tourism ambassador for Abu Dhabi around the same time ..

How I wish Ed pulls up his pants and get some business done so we have the squad to smash the hell out of them.
Can't stand them little tiny latinos and spaniards alike - Pep, Messi, Navas, D Alves, Neymar, D Silva, Di Maria, Busquets, J Alba.
Something about these players that just makes me angry.
Considering that half of them are 5'9 and taller, the nature of your feeling seems even more obvious.

Pep is at City. Why would he go anywhere else?
It's got nothing to do with Pep, he probably won't be there by the time Messi finishes his career there. It's ambition and they have loads of it whereas we don't.

Nonsense. We've spent 1.2bn since Fergie left. That's more than every club in the world bar one.

We don't lack ambition. We lack competence.

City will if they get Messi and Koulibally.
Right now United being shown up by cash strapped Spurs and even Leeds United

Now that’s just being silly, stop being jealous just because other clubs are getting shiny new toys
Jealous? Shiny new toys?
Right.....
The manager has said the squad needs major improvement to compete in league and UCL and apparently complaining about not doing enough is jealousy... right.... maybe Ole is also jealous

The same Ole who refused to use subs in our run in and Europa League semi. Right....

I fully agree. Had Woodward been competent, he'd have spent time studying the ethos and DNA of Man Utd, talking with the likes of SAF, SBC and other past players before announcing he'd fancy a go as the DoF.

He didn't and this showed the transfer window under Jose, when he wanted to buy Maguire and we turned down the request, as we'd already signed Bailly and Lindelöf under Jose. Fast forward a year and we signed Maguire for an over inflated fee. This shows that Woodward has no idea what he's doing with transfers and can't identify what player is of the correct profile and calibre for United. Otherwise we wouldn't have signed so many CBs in the past 3/4 years, yet we're still trying to improve on them.

Werner already stated he wanted to move abroad and turned down Bayern,
Ziyech stated also he wanted to move abroad and Ajax had his release clause taken out so they could make more.money from a sale,
No one else went in for either despite Werner having a release clause.
Chilwell at £50m is insane and for sure no one else was in for him at that price.
It looks rational compared to us spending 50 million on bissaka

The humungous gulf of prestige, class, fear, and global appeal between United and the rest of all English clubs at the turn of the century has slowly faded away into almost nothing.
Reading this is really depressing. What is going on with our club??!

Liverpool can't be that skint surely that they wont pay £26M for Thiago. Even his injuries are worth risking at that price.
Couldn't we take the same punt? Brooks and thiago for about 65m would be good depth and quality for decent money

There is the minor detail of him wanting to join. Don’t wanna be the big doom monger, but he might prefer staying at Bayern over United, whilst at the same time wanting to join pool. I wouldn’t, but he might.
