It's hard to imagine Barcelona selling Messi. Short of an astonishing offer, Barcelona's fans would never forgive the club letting go of the GOAT who is arguably neat the peak of his powers.

He's going isn’t he? I just can't believe he'll choose them lot over us. We got history, we got tradition, we're the biggest team in England.
No, you are a figment of the past. A city are the future of the epl much more so than united. Everton used to be great too once upon a time. United have been dire more often than not since SAF left.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.

Get in! Another fan of a foreign team telling us how shit we are and praising the state owned ‘football’ clubs. Fantastic.

Choose life. Choose Pep. Choose wages paid through sell companies and other potential off the books benefits.

You're in dreamland if you think he would go anywhere but City and also because you think you're the biggest team in England. :)
We are the biggest team in England. We're just not currently the best team. People confuse being good with being bigger.

Liverpool have a shout at being the biggest but their global reach doesn't quite match ours but its not far off. City aren't even close. They just have a country bankrolling them.

He's not destroying his legacy in the slightest. All the Barcelona fans blame the board 100% for this fiasco.
The fecking predsident resigned. Messi has been defacto running this club, and if he leaves for free after a disastrous season, his legacy would certainly not be pristine.

Let's be honest Messi is 33 and has maybe 2 years left to win another CL or ballon dor. He won't win it with the Grandpa Barcelona Squad , that is for sure.

But I still think he is power playing , he doesn't seem to be a guy who fancy's trophies and ballon dor over his club

Again, I'm just going by what I see on the internet. I'm yet to see a single ex player/fan affiliated with Barcelona paint Messi in anything but a positive light throughout this.

Honest to God, the idea of rival fans bringing a lot to this place is getting harder and harder to believe.
Everton ffs!

He has a very good case. It's done. Barcelona have nothing to go on if this actually goes to arbitration. The underlying principle in the contract was the 'end of the season', not the date. The date is subjective.
That's not what some lawyers in Spain are saying though. If there is a date, it's the date having the final word and not the term "season".

I agree.

Certainly have much more respect for Liverpool than City. But they aren't the biggest team in England. City are just a UAE franchise club at this point.

No one, apart from the old school care about this in the current football climate.

You think the new generation of aspiring tik-tok stars give a feck about the history of the club? Most kids will support whoever is best - outside of internal/external influences. Footballers will care even less so. The world class ones will want to add trophies to their CV. For that you'd go to Liverpool or Man City at the moment. What will going to United or Arsenal bring?

If City sign Messi - their domestic and international fan base will explode to the stratosphere. If they want to transition Manchester to blue - signing this fella will inch them one bit closer.

Messi stays at Barca and he's a coward who didn't prove himself in another league. Messi leaves Barca and joins City and he's a traitor. Just can't win.

I will never in my life let Barca fans hear the end of it if Messi's able to leave on a free

Think City will end up offering players and money just to avoid any extended legal drama

If it’s just a political game, it paints him in a poor light and is tiresome.

I would love to see him in another league, but if it’s just flirtation to get what he wants at Barca, it’s just irritating.

He is amazing, but he gets paid a fortune and has a contract like any other player.
It's not a money issue. Clearly

Hahah exactly. He can't win. He can leave for free but he wants to compensate the club he loves

Like Barca walked the league with him?
Context mate. Context. City is a far superior team to Barca every position bar one. Messi. Add that to an already very good team and it's not hard to jump to the conclusion that everyone is playing for second place or in our case 4th

They just need more of their own players being bought or going to oil clubs

Maybe not for him, but if he has a contract, he has a contract. If you are getting paid what he is getting paid, you shouldn’t be pulling out of club duties.

It’s the same with the likes of Bale. He should never have been allowed not to travel because he wasn’t going to be used. It’s not his choice to make and he gets paid very well.

You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Just like people believed Messi was the future of Barcelona without Iniesta and Xavi. Won hardly anything and starts looking at other clubs because apparently his own one is poorly run.
Absolutely horse shit.

For reasonable discussion. And level headed people who are aware of a modern club’s status instead of clinging onto the past.

Can't walk the league if there's another team capable of barely dropping points.

That will be you soon with your chaotic board, rubbish transfer business and messi-less barca. Madrid have always been the kings in spain which includes catalonia whom they rule over with an iron fist when you see their amount of titles. Top dogs in la liga and cl.

Just being realistic and reasonable.

I've noticed @Daysleeper comes out with a lot of nonsensical posts. One of the worst oppo fans on here in recent times.
Seems fine to me, usually. But opposition fans need to calm their tits regarding their Liverpool (German fans) and City (now possibly Barcelona fans) love in and understanding that this, despite the encouragement of a healthy debate, is a Manchester United forum. If they want to show off their Klopp / Pep bearing cock tattoos, they should find one of the dreadful forums of those clubs to do it at.

Why would we want him at what he would costs and his age? Might suit City if they don't care about the cost as a push to try to win the CL before Guardiola leaves.

Accountants will have a headache trying to present this transfer to the bosses that's for sure.

How much money can you get back from signing Messi as club? 100% it'll be a loss, but you win trophies...
