Edinson Cavani was this for literally years. Incredible stats every season but I just never saw him play well. He broke that a couple of years ago though & ive seen him play well now.

The only current example I can think of for a player who is highly rated is Koulibaly. Every time I’ve seen him he’s looked dog shit & clumsy.
Koulibaly a great shout. Looks like Jones on LSD every time I see him.

Never seen Erik Lamela have a good or great game. Been at Spurs for 7 years and can't think of anything interesting or significant he's done any time that I've seen him.

Same. Every time I watch him he hogs the ball and, 9 times out of 10, produces pure shite with it. Other than that rabona he scored once.

Jesus, seven years? That feels so wrong. In my head he is still a young talent and still at Roma. A bit of the Lingard syndrome going on, always young and talented?

Phil Jones is due a testimonial. This is his 10th season.

Wilfred Zaha. One of the most overrated footballers on the planet. He has a good game once every 2 months and then the media jumps on the wagon of "he is to good for Palace when is he going to get his big move?". I'm shocked that he gets quoted for 80 mil, I can honestly say I don't want him for anything over 20 mil.

A lot of guessing in this thread, as you clearly have not watched enough games. Buffon, Keane, De Jong etc........

Koulibaly and Lingard

Yeah, that one is definitely up there as well. I do remember the excitement I felt watching him early in his United career, especially when he caught up with Bale in full flow. He hasn't had a good game for United since, it feels like.

Loris Karius

David Ginola

Hidetoshi Nakata

Antonio Cassano

Tom Cleverley
Ginola? How many games have you watched him play? I'm more on the other spectrum where I don't think I've seen him NOT play well.

Nakata was so good when on form. Really enjoyed watching him.

Cassano was frustrating but he was always a high risk/high reward type of player and unless you like those kind of players, I guess it's easy to put most of their performances as bad. I'd agree with that.

Gylfi. One of the most over rated CAMs in the league. Swansea robbed Everton

Completely agree. Holds on to it for too long and just doesn't come across as a team player. I'm amazed that he hasn't been moved on by now.

He's 28 and Lingard will be 28 this year, too. I agree with that comparison and think it's a fair one to make. Would say that Lingard has had better highs for us than Lamela has for them, though.

I have seen him score some good to great goals, but overall there is not many good games. He is one of the worst at our club since I started supporting in 86. Stats back that up and his overall game make it even worse.

Not disagreeing with that, but the thread was asking for players you have never seen play well. If you're a United fan and have watched every United game, then i say that's a lie.

Frenkie de Jong.
I've yet to see what all the hype is about, too much flair for too little objectivity.

Oh yeah, can't forget Timo Werner, granted I've only seen him with Germany, but he was a nothing player everytime.
Hope that with Chelsea it's the same.
