I would also add that Ed is trying to get into a dick measuring contest with Dortmund.

Note to Woody: yours is smaller and the whole world knows it. Just pay the money so we can make a run at the title.

Great! Let’s buy Dwight McNeil for 60m! He’s a proven PL up and comer with 2 goals and 6 assists in 42 appearances!

The argument that every player from the Bundesliga (or Portugal, or Holland, or [fill in league here]) is so lazy, so lame, and completely horseshit. There are too many examples of both successful signings and also flops.

Almost 1000 pages into this thread and someone posts this shite based on watching Sancho for England twice.
Any poster has an absolute right to question the sense in paying 120mil for a player who still has much to prove and has little in the way of accolades behind his name to this point.

For a player over 80mil we should be paying for a player who has already won some silverware in his career.

Why is he worth 120 mil, because Dortmund said so?? Ousmane even with injuries and Kingsley are better players in my opinion but would not cost anywhere near that amount. Let them keep him another year at least and watch the fee halve.

Linking to the supposed bonuses Sancho will get from his current contract, my conspiracy theory is that we're briefing there's an issue with us agreeing agent fees/wages with Sancho as to stall so he can collect his bonuses, once he's got them we'll suddenly brief we've agreed terms and submit a bid. Obviously a load of nonsense but fun nonsense.
It's taken over 6 years but I may have finally got something right on this site

Ducker is one of United’s mouthpiece aye?
He's well-connected to both Man. City and United, but I wouldn't call him a mouthpiece like Stone, Peach, Whitwell, or Luckhurst. Still, this aligns with what Romano's saying now, which means that we're probably progressing on the fee with Dortmund.

Absolutely, even lazier when it involves a player that's grown up around the English game

The Bruno thread was filled with those sort of takes
Funny how the poster didn’t mention the pass to Declan Rice on a platter, only to watch Rice whiff from two yards out. And yet Rice is the future undisputed no. 6 of England. Laughable.

People wanting the club to cough up 120 millions and whatever agent's fee for Sancho are mad. This is the problem with the Caf and overrating players we are linked to. Sancho is a good player with potential to being great if not world class but in no way is he worth those stupid numbers Dortmund are quoting and if they aren't willing to put in a reasonable price then we should look elsewhere.

Also bringing up Bundesliga numbers to hype players shouldn't be allowed. Bundesliga produce some of the most misleading numbers which never add up to player's actual level. Seen all of Miki etc have ridiculous numbers in the Bundesliga to then utterly fail elsewhere.

Also after watching both England games, Sancho is clearly overrated on these boards. This place has somehow convinced itself that he is world class, generational talent and all the over used words the Caf love throwing around for any existing talent out there. Kid is good with loads to prove and improve, but he isn't 120 million worth, that's just absurd and I command the club for not splashing such ridiculous amount on him. After seeing all these 100+ millions transfers bomb recently, no club should be dumb enough to easily splash that amount.

Dortmund themselves have already fleeced another club(Barca) charging them 100+ for a player who ended up turning into an utter disaster. People ought to learn from history, not ignore it.

If no reasonable price then we move on and we should probably do that by now given the season is about to start and we should be finding a top guy to play on our RW.
I don't know how much of Sancho you have actually watched but It seems you have not watched much of him and are judging him on two England games where even Harry Kane, Sterling, Trent who are glassed WC had poor games.

Bringing up hype, some have failed yes but you also fail to see the ones who have done well? Auby? he was at Dortmund BTW. Most WC players will command a fee of £90m plus in this market. Sancho's numbers have been 2 seasons not one, which shows it isnt a one season wonder. If you watch him, you will realise what he has to offer in terms of technical dribbling, passing and movement.

Dortmund fleeced Barca for Dembele who is a brilliant player only for injuries.

Lastly, this place is not the only place that thinks Sancho is a generational talent, if you go ask any Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Dortmund fan, they will all tell you the same thing.

Reguilon and Sancho, and i could live with this window. CB and DM still an issue, but kind of ok if we get the other two.

There are definitely smokes, just not sure if the fire is big enough to light us to the end of the transfer tunnel at the moment in time.

Fabrizio: there is no problem with the terms or agent fees - it's all agreed. Club fee is the issue.
Literally everyone else: Fee's is the major hold up.

And now we hear there is a "breakthrough" for fees and the club agreement is the issue.

Positive news from Ducker. Ducker does have connections with people at the club. He's definitely been fed this piece of news from our side.

It's good that a credible English journalist has thrown his hat in I guess... shows that the deal isn't dead like some people thought.

Sorry what was that? I've not really followed it so far.
On The Transfer Window podcast yesterday, it was mentioned that BvB owed Sancho a 1.5m bonus if he played 10+ England games and was at the club for 1+ year, from the date he signed the contract extension last year.

That Sancho was delaying his move because his Dortmund contract gave him a 1.5m bonus after his 10th England appearance.
Also said the deal between the clubs was agreed, it was Sancho waiting it out...

Edit @red thru&thru damn that was quick

Hasn't it been reported earlier that personal terms and agent fees weren't the problem? As I understood it, it has always been about the transfer price, the fixed vs. variable split, etc.
That's what foreign journo's like Romano had reported but the UK based journos close to the club kept saying otherwise that the issue was agent fee/personal terms related and not the selling club's asking price.

Having them circle back now to what Romano's been saying the whole time, likely based on info fed to them by the club, is a big reversal given that the UK journos have been claiming that the asking fee isn't really a problem for us.

Add on the info from German journos about Dortmund being willing to let him go if their price is met and it's looking promising...
