It might have been already been discussed. However, it's a fast-moving thread and I'll have missed the posts. How is this a new revelation? Romano said a few million views back personal terms and agents fees had already been agreed and it was not an issue.
I think Romano's German source is Flak and he's a Bayern/German mouthpiece. He never says anything the clubs don’t want him to say. I don't think Romano has been given all the info on this one, same reason he didn't know about the contract extension Sancho signed last summer.

People have no idea how much of a statement signing this would be. After missing out on Hazard, Dybala, Griezmann etc and everyone saying how Utd`s pull has declined over the years, signing the best next generation talent after Mbappe in the midst of a pandemic when Utd have lost lots of money would be the perfect statement signing to quash all this talk and negative past. We`d finally get the respect we deserve as a big club that can attract the best talent and even Woodward`s reputation would take a huge boost after how much we all bash him for being poor at closing deals completing a deal for one of if not the biggest English talent since Rooney from one of the most stubborn selling clubs after all the negativity in the press and on social media would boost his CV.

He’s a Dortmund player. They can stick their fingers in their ears and hum the chorus to 99 Luftballoons if they want to.
Seriously, the entitlement is insane. As if some people believe that Dortmund are our feeder club who owe us this somehow.

Glad this is finally moving forward.

But those who believe Romano would naturally believe there hasn't been any new development at all?

To be fair they have every right to ask for full whack regardless of Covid. They don't want to sell him, so they certainly wouldn't give a discount.

If someone came in for Greenwood right now, we wouldn't be offering a discount price either as we don't want to sell him.
Of course they want to sell him this summer; it’s central to their business plan. And COVID-19 economic uncertainty makes that it even more imperative that they sell him this summer.

what if Sancho has a career damaging injury?
What if Sancho dramatically loses form?
What if a massive global 2nd wave occurs this winter stopping football for many months?
Many more what ifs. Way too much risk for the sake of an extra £10m profit.

BVB posture of not needing to sell is purely their version of brinkmanship.

It's worth remembering that before we signed Rooney it was almost consensus on here that 1) we didn't need him (we had Ruud, Saha, Smith, Rossi at the time) and that 2) £30mil was far too much. You can re-read the thread on here (I think I was saying much the same at the time). A player with as much ability as Sancho, who has proven himself to a high level despite his young age, and has at least 10-12 years of football in him, is analogous to Rooney's situation, although the transfer fees have of course gone mental in the last few years. He'll be worth it, though.

Pogba’s was the record
To be fair, Pogba's thread had a lot more to discuss... SAF letting him go for nothing, the curse (stink?) of Moyes and LvG, buying Pogba back for top dollar.... I think that at 915, 917, wherever we are right now, this is purely about Sancho's ability or perceived ability. Pretty impressive.

The development being that club have briefed the English outlets that they are ready to confirm wages aren't an issue. This means they probably have an idea of structuring an acceptable package with Dortmund now.

I'd imagine Romano is the mystery journo that Luckhurst said had a slap on the risk from the club for being too blunt in his news that its agreed

I fully maintain that Romano was always right, the club briefed its English tier 1 sources to talk about wages holding it up because that will buy some time. Now they look very close, they've lifted the wage excuse.

I think the "development" in this case is just the fact that several Manchester/UK journalists are parroting the same line this morning, suggesting the club is happy for the message to be out there today.

Those who are not sure whether we should sign Sancho, I have to do a "Trust me bro" on this one. I've watched him more than enough over the last 3 years.

This is not me just hyping it because I'm giddy. This is me saying what I genuinely feel. This kid has got everything to be an absolute superstar at our club. He will be the best player in our team very quickly, you will see. Signing Sancho is an absolute game changer.

There is a very strong reason why Dortmund fans are hell bent on him not leaving. They know how amazing he is. Ask any fan who watches Bundesliga on a weekly basis. They will all tell you he is top dollar. There is a reason why rival fans have been taking the piss out of us all summer. They will be absolutely devestated if we sign Sancho.

Stay strong and your patience will be rewarded gang!

BVB has been a feeder club to rich European teams for several years. The facts literally prove that. Same as Ajax.

Nothing insulting or entitled to think that.

We all love United
It’s exploding everywhere in the English media. This is so ON! Clearly official briefs by United and we’ll look like twits of the century if this doesn’t go through so the club is clearly confident it’ll happen

If this report is correct, it can only (almost) mean that we are actually finally going to sign him. United know the price Dortmund are demanding, so why even wasting time negotiating with Sancho if they do not intend to pay the price.

But it IS entitled to think they 'haven't covered themselves in glory' by simply not lowering their expectations. Because, once again, they don't owe us anything.

Imagine if Real Madrid fans, back in 2009, had said that United needed to take a long hard look at themselves for demanding the 80m up front. We'd have laughed them out of town.

Haha, you got some pie on your face today then. Mugging off Romano all this time
Huh?? Have you read the thread?

Every reliable source in the UK clearly briefed directly from the club that we’ve now sorted the personal terms and agent fees, which now sets us up to make a bid.

Meanwhile the whole window your man Romano has been telling us ths personal terms and agent fees were already agreed.
