I'm looking forward to his arrival. He reminds me of a more motivated, albeit less technically gifted, version of Memphis. You can see where he has a lot to work on, namely his dribbling and defensive abilities, before he can comfortably be called "better" than our former Dutch winger, but I'm sure that given time he'll come good.

With a significant cash outlay potentially needed for Sancho I do wonder if selling 2-3 players like Smalling, Romero or Pereira is needed before commit to the signing.

Even €20-30m would be a significant chunk of change towards the fee and would affect our cash flow and the wages being offset could leave the wage bill roughly neutral (e.g. Smalling and Romero’s wages roughly offset Sancho).

United can afford Sancho if the bat if I'm not mistaken, it's further signings like VDB, a CB that require outgoings

Hypothetical...say we dont sign Sancho and Greenwood absolutely shines and becomes irreplaceable.
Do we still go after Sancho next year and if yes do we play him at right wing or do we look at him as a replacement for Rashford on the left wing? Or we just decide to move Greenwood in the middle and sell Martial?
Asking because I feel while both Rashford and Martial are good players, Greenwood will be a real superstar and a tier above both.

So if this is the scenario what happens next year? Do we just decide..you know what, maybe we dont even need Sancho? Actually see this scenario as very likely.
If that happens then Rashford is in trouble, not Martial

There is no such thing as first 16 when talking about elite level players. They all want to start and play in every big match.

All of the players mentioned are better than Ole. I agree with @HowYouDoin . Greenwood, Martial, Rashford, and Sancho are all young, will expect to be starters, and play in important matches. This isn't FIFA or FM. You can't amass a team of young star players and expect them to be fine jostling for playing time. Eventually one of them will want to leave.
Nah think you are far off the mark here. Of course they will all want to play in the big games, finals semi finals. However 4 top players for 3 spaces over potentially a 50 game season is absolutely fine. You would in theory say each of them will play in 4 out of 5 games. That's not withstanding any of them pick up a long term injury, in fact i think Rashford and Martial missed good chunks of last season. So getting Sancho would be very welcome and if it means less game time for the likes of James, Lingard and Perriera then even better

And if any of them can’t handle the pressure, throw toys out the pram and want out, we’ll just sell them and bring in the next young star.

I really don’t get this protectiveness over players getting games. They are paid crazy wages either way.

Do we do or discuss any deals on a weekend? Or everybody in the office is already at home chilling? Are Dortmund even there to pick up the phones and check their mails?

We're only talking about four players for three spots. They could well all be involved in every game.

If they don't want to fight for their spot and are afraid of competition then they aren't elite players at all.

You need a quality bench to win titles and champions leagues. I don't see how this is up for debate.

The thing is when you have 4 players of that quality they all want to start, they are not interested in being rotation players. It just doesnt work like that. No team can have absolute top level players and start them off the bench. Thats what the likes of David Brooks are for.
If we do sign Sancho eventually one of them would need to go.

I like them in as much as they’re passionate fans who manage to get some great people to interview. But my word do their questions take half an hour to get out without there even really being a question there sometime. Just so much dead space in the interviews waiting for them to finish their point and get back to the guest.

‘So you know people in the club and Ole, well we were talking about this last night weren’t we, we was talking about Seville weren’t we... Well Ole he’s always just there and we’re watching it on the tv y’know and he’s just there and we’re thinking why aren’t you making subs...’
Cue guest sitting there wondering if that was a question

(That’s a false example but I couldn’t be arse to write verbatim their whole bit about a lack of transfers that went nowhere)
So you know people in the club and Ole, .... RIGHHT... well we were talking about this last night weren’t we, we was talking about Seville weren’t we... RIGHHT... Well Ole he’s always just there and we’re watching it ... RIGHHT ... on the tv y’know and he’s just there ... RIGHHT.. and we’re thinking why aren’t you making subs... RIGHHT
(Fixed for You)

I like these two but the issue is that people like us (me and them) who were borne before internet can't do a lot of stuff when it comes to tech related things. Although to be fair, they are very good lads and I follow their channel

Van der Sar out of the blue on a Sunday evening is the only one I can think of though wasnt bloodgate/Schmidfield a Sunday night as well?

Do Manchester United and Dortmund work during weekends?
I'd prefer thinking high-end staffs being paid millions of pounds would have no trouble working during some crucial weekends in year. :keano:

We did VDB over the weekend. But that’s rare from us.

No, everybody knows football clubs close at the weekend and nobody has portable access to e mails.

That was what puts me off watching the channel. His ‘RIGHT’ after every sentence absolutely annoys me to no end. What is that all about? Does that bloke talk the same when he communicates to people every day outside of the camera?

Is anyone a Utd shareholder? Do shareholders get briefed beforehand of any transfer signings before the press release?

Just watch the share price, there will be a twitch if something is happening, astute as we've been this stuff always finds a way out.

True but according to sources we have already met their valuation, the only problem is the instalments in which they will be paid. So let's say we agree a deal, how are they going to save face? After saying he is 100% not moving this summer?
Again. By waving those 120m cash to those who’re laughing at them.
