For a club that seem determined that he will stay they don't half like to repeat it a dozen times a week.
It's the only thing they can offer their fans; it's not like they will win any major trophies. Feeder club mentality.

Fjørtoft:

- Bla bla how has Sancho been doing bla bla?

Haaland:

- I think he has been damn good. All through the pre season.

- and he will be a important player for us this season

- and it’s not I that do "that things", so it’s not me who deal with it. They who are responsible has to do that. I am not going to involve myself to much in that. But, if he stays, I will be very pleased about it since he is a good friend of mine and a great footballer.

Awkward as feck the whole thing. But to me it sounds that he might leave.

To be fair, he’s right onwhat he was saying. He doesn’t know a thing about BVB transfer dealings even though if he plays them. Though perhaps he may hear a thing or two from Jadon himself. What do you mean he was awkward in the whole thing? He changed his stance in the middle of the interview?

This isn't really how it works in Germany, though. The states have a high degree of autonomy when it comes to these decisions. I was drinking beer with 10,000 other fans in the stadium this week. At the same time other matches in the country were played in front of 300. It doesn't have any bearing on what happens in Munich or Dortmund. It's not even decided by the states. The clubs have health and safety concepts that their local health authorities (i.e. the city) have to approve.
Will the DFB accept having fans in some stadiums and not in others? Doesn't it create an advantage to, say BVB compared to Bayern?

Which is why any decent fan should be upset. They aren't football people. They don't care about success, prestige, the fans or anything but their own bottom line.

Running a football club as a business, should only be secondary. A football club should be about more than turning a profit.
Being upset about it is like being upset at rain when you don't have an umbrella. Be upset as much as you want, it is not going to change anything.

The only way to make them leave is to boycott the club in mass. Essentially give them the covid treatment and don't go to matches. As long as the stadium gets filled, they won't give a shit about you being upset.

I don't have much hope for this one. Just feels like we weren't willing to spend the money it needed and now journalists are just beating the drum to keep the saga, likes and retweets alive.

It's not their (or the DFL's in this case) decision. They cannot prevent the clubs from letting fans into the stadium. It already happened at the weekend in the cup matches where regulations wildly differed. Some were played behind closed doors, some in front of 500 spectators, others with 3000, 5000 or even 10000 fans. Clubs can come to an agreement amongst themselves and they, in cooperation with the states, sort of have with the 20% capacity limit but that is only a general guideline and not binding.

With the city of Munich today deciding that the Bundesliga opener will be played without fans tomorrow, we are definitely going to have an uneven playing field as Dortmund for example will have 10,000 in and Leipzig 8,500.

Ultimately this is out of our control as supporters, I've been around long enough to understand that transfer speculation is merely speculation, it sells newspapers and garners clicks. The best transfers are always the ones that come out of the blue. I do hope we get Jadon, but I won't be holding my breath.

I dont think I've ever seen this much hype for an English player before.

It has to be because he plays abroad.

If he was playing this way in the PL no way way would there this many pages & so many people losing their minds.

If anything the hype would be bigger as more people will have watched him regularly. But then you could possibly say the mystic of him being in a foreign league and people haven't actually watched him that much has added to his hype.

True. If we sign him, hopefully he ll be better than the last 2 high profile players sold by Dortmund - Pulisic and Dembele

Yeah he did change his tune. Especially on the bit talking about the situation with Sancho and the possible transfer.

Maybe he just is a bit awkward and realised he shouldn’t have talked anything about Sanchos possible transfer.

It’s toe-curlingly bad, please make it stop. 1065 pages of feck all and “happy sancho day”.
Yep. If you took out clowns repeating that line, the totally based on nothing "it'll happen" or it won't happen comments we would be on about 300 pages

Pretty obvious, when Dortmund asked for 120m, that was never going to happen. No way we were going to spend that on a single player in a covid year. There is still a lot of uncertainty about the financial impact this will have on football, and I would rather we play this safe than pay money we don't have and get in trouble later.

There is not a lot of spending going on this window except Chelsea and they are an exception because of their unique circumstances. Almost everyone else is playing it safe.

What is giving some on here so much optimism that this deal is going to happen? Just curious to know cause anyone with a shred of credibility has major doubts on this deal happening.

Guess who's been promoted.

This train is about to travel much faster. SanchON
How the hell did you manage that? If I was a newbie I’d be burning all of my posts in here and they definitely wouldn’t be promotion worthy. Unless there was a muppet in power.

Is there a separate thread in the newb section? I can’t remember how it works.
