Agree, needs time and to be given a chance. I still think he has potential, shown by his start at United and the faith shown in him by Ryan Giggs. At worst he hopefully become a decent impact player or solid squad member.

Palace at home is the sort of game you want a squad player coming in. He isn’t good enough for these sort of games, so what’s the point?

He is way out of his depth. I think it would be good for him to join another club as almost every performance he has put in since he joined has been verging on diabolical.

Playing him on the left isn't going to change anything, either; he is just not good enough. People point to his better performances on the left for Wales, but the opposition is dross. Bulgaria and Finland are, arguably, not even Championship level.

He may have some uses for a low level Premier League club, but that is it. If he stays here too long, it will destroy his confidence as he will never be good enough, and he probably knows it. Albeit, the huge wage and getting to play for Manchester United is not a bad trade off, but I think those positives can only last so long if you are nowhere near good enough.

How many more attempts does Ole need to realise that James isn't a right winger?

Ole has clearly seen it failed numerous times but I am struggling to understand why he persists with it? I would rather play Lingard or Mata there and why did we give Mata a new contract if he cannot be trusted??

My greatest frustration with Dan James is that he plays within himself. So often he gets the ball and just goes backwards. He has all that pace but very rarely does he try to go on the outside of the fullback and put a ball in. I would forgive him so much more if he actually pushed it down the touchline and bolted after it. Even if he ended up getting tackled every single time it would at least show some ambition. What's the point in having all that speed if you don't trust yourself to challenge a fullback in a sprint? What we're asking for is not that he suddenly become Messi, Antonio Valenica c.2010 would be more than good enough. Plays frit. Scared to make a mistake. A Man Utd player can be many things but scared isn't one of them. Increasingly difficult to see him making it here if he keeps playing safety first football.

Walcott can dribble, and beat weak defenders. James is just knock and run merchant. Against organized defense, James is clueless in what to do, where as Walcott at least could be tidy.

He can't defend when opposition is running at him. Pressing, running at opposition is very different. Not very good at tackling. Keeping up with opposition speed in straight line, doesn't mean he is good at man marking. Someone like Valencia, could man mark, and nullify opposition attacking wide player for good. Even then Valencia transition to RB was not straight forward and even full of growth pain in other words.

Posts like these are beyond ridiculous, did you play much as a kid? Being on the right side if you’re really best fitted on the left isn’t like a carpenter working as a lawyer one day, come on.
