For one, their pressing has been superb in the first half whereas we've been sitting of them. See the difference in the time Brighton players have on the ball compared to ours.

It's bemusing how we still, in 2020, remain uninterested in pressing as part of our style of football.
I've complained about our poor, unorganised, individualistic pressing and have been told that, no, you're wrong - we do press well.

How Potter gets Brighton to press on not even half the budget of Ole's is an example of an organised press as a team.

His system is overlapping wingbacks. Problem is out of Shaw + Rashford and AWB + Greenwood, Rashford has been in poor form for a while and isn’t linking up as well as he should, and on the right, AWB just can’t play this system, and Greenwood really is a CF.

Sancho would make a really big difference to this team, it would mean we could move Greenwood to the left or middle when Rashford/Martial is off form. Rashford really can’t play on the right cause he has no left foot and can’t cross particular well either. This is why we’re such a form team, if any one of these four is off form it affects the entire performance.

United had a system when he first joined. Where did that go. It was fast attacking football, exciting.
"Fast, attacking football" isn't a system, it's an ideal. It's an aim to work towards. Solskjaer knows the type of football he wants the team to play; he just seems to have next to no idea about how to actually get there. The basic idea is there: energetic, pacy attacking players, with creative, mobile midfielders. Great. But then what? What happens is that we go through purple patches when these quality attacking players hit form and look utterly tragic when they are a little off their game because there are no automatisms, no patterns or structures.

He also doesn't help himself with some of his own decisions: buying the world's slowest centre-back, trying to play out from the back with a right-back who is awful on the ball, and so on.

Anyone is better than the dimwits lurking here.
That doesn't mean anything. People here are fans. They aren't in contention for a multi million dollar job running Manches United. I know you want to be a big baby and bitch about fans having an opinion, but you're just rambling really.

I can't remember why I joined this war.
I have to admit I'm starting to lose faith in Ole to turn this around. Last season for some time I thought we were slowly but surely getting there but the end of last season and now this start have a complete regress, we look as bad as we ever did.

A lot of us felt the same when we were winning, too.

You're trying to paint this as a kneejerk reaction but it isn't. It's based off two years of evidence.

Yeah? I'm wearing my glasses. Are you wearing yours?

You come off as a WUM.
Yes I am a WUM for pointing out Moyes, LVG and Mou did not okay exactly the same football :houllier:

Moyes was a reactive manager who often set up the team to try an nullify the opposition, he wasn’t massive on keeping possession, liked to switch flanks

LvG wasn’t reactive at all, his philosophy was based on possession and dominating the pitch.

Mou probably had the most organised team, his philosophy was to completely shut off the oppositions attack and hit on the counter.

There’s much more to all of these managers and these are only really headlines, but they are all very different. The results may ave been similar but they did not all play “exactly the same way”

So as said before not a WUM I just watch football

Angry that the club were the kneejerkers and appointed Ole based off a flukey win over PSG and a decent run in the league prior.

Eh a lot of people have always said we don't have a system, I'm tending to agree. Our form after Mou was sacked was because the players wanted to prove a point. Then our form late last season was thanks to Bruno playing out of this world. That magic from bruno has dropped off a bit and it's starting to show with how much we're struggling

It just seems like we have no system and the majority of goals we have scored has been due to individual brilliance. I'd like Ole to prove me wrong, but I can't see any good tactics. It all seems a right mess at the minute

So about that great Brighton "system"...
Yes the mighty Brighton is somehow playing better football than us. We are playing like we are facing Barcelona. But honestly, Brighton possession based style falls right into our hands as last season showed, we win more games when we give the opposition possession of the ball.

Never ever seen ‘system’ or ‘passing pattern’ on the score sheet. Who are these amazing players that these guys go on about?
Are you being fickle on purpose? We might win a game or two playing this garbage but an actual working system is going to be needed to win something.

We've been utter crap since we scored.

Once again, individual brilliance and our goal posts (Brighton hit the post 5 times so far) saving his ass. Never seen a manager as lucky as him in football.

People will keep defending Ole pointing out the score while ignoring another terrible performance and how lucky we were. And this is my real first anti-Ole post, I am done, can't watch this dross anymore.

You mean the system in which they've created several chances, hit the woodwork 5 times, forced us to park the bus after 60 minutes and make 2 defensive changes?
well put . It is glaringly obvious now that Ole freestyle football will not get us back on top. I have not seen a more lucky manager than Ole in football ever. This will surely give him more time, when it is obvious that he isn’t the right guy to lead us forward.

How anyone could have watched this match and still honestly believe we have a system, or a plan, or a philosophy beyond just throwing players on the pitch in some sort of formation and saying "do your thing" is beyond me.

Everyone is happy we won. No one wants the manager sacked for the sake of it. Can you honestly tell us we look an organised team under Ole?

Swap the managers for today's game and the result wouldn't even be close.

He has a system, only thing is most managers in the PL have better ones, he's just blessed with a really good first 11.
