This is all noise from Barca trying to sell Dembele.. or something the two clubs have cooked up to be mutually beneficial.

These is no way we sign Dembele..

I'd say this is the typical noise to promote the player at our expense, when a club is interested on selling someone. Probably being late AGAIN has been the final drop for them.

A guy with zero discipline, bad character and unable to play 3 games in a row. No chance we spend 50-60 M on this to solve Barcelona's headache.

I could see us trying to get him on loan with an option to buy, to evaluate throughout the season or just to wait for Sancho. Anything else would be very surprising for me, but you never know with this circus club.

Dembele for 55m and if we could get 15-20 for Dan James it's not too bad.

Massive injury issues but when fit he's a top tier talent.
It's not only his injury history.

This guy has such huge attitude problems, he'd make Di Maria (at least the "United-di-Maria") look like an ambitious and dedicated professional.

Deal with option to buy next season would be sensational deal.

I am 99.9% sure that this is bogus news to get Sancho.

Not doubting that we have seriously sounded out Dembele over the window, but to fail at every hurdle, and then suddenly reach a breakthrough on the day we have made a bid for Sancho. Really? Nah don't buy it, think it's a tactic to get Sancho to push now that we bid for him.

Of course I would change the % above if it's a loan for 1 year before Sancho arrives next season.

There is just something off putting about this. Big name, big talent, would shut fans up about missing on Sancho.

But idk, signing someone who has had serious injury problems and issues on and off the field at Barca for a while now doesn't seem the same as signing an ascending talent like Sancho (or indeed the Dortmund version for Dembele) for me.

Who knows, maybe he leaves Barca is 100% committed to United, puts his head down off the field and suddenly avoids injury. But its doesn't sound massively likely.

He's clearly the most Man United signing since Fergie left possible. Big wages, sulky, big money, doesn't want to be here and injury prone.

This is looking like it is going to happen...more and more sources are saying this is a done dealio

He is an exceptional talent but I just worry about his professionalism...hopefully he turns things around with a fresh start at United if it is confirmed...maybe Woodward plays a blinder and we get both Dembele and Sancho

I'm excited, so believing it a bit too much. To be honest, there's some reputable Barca sources saying it, but Boufhasi said today it doesn't happen this summer and he knows him well. It has all come out the same time as the Sancho bid too.

That s why it will reportedly be a loan with options to buy

Such huge issues? Same as Sancho then? Apart from him being late on few occasions what are those attitude problems?

I would rather have Bale on loan. Both are injury prone but at least Bale is a real match winner when he plays.

And/or a tactic to get Dortmund to lower their price, "Look, we're not desperate for a winger cos we've got Dembele now, but we know you need the money and we're still willing to pay a reasonable price for Sancho."

Pressure as its hinted this would give Barca the money to buy Depay, who happened to be Dortmunds "choice" for sancho's replacement.

I'd be extremely disappointed if its anything else.

Option to buy works in both ways, if he does well then Barca could ask for more money and more clubs will be in for him too.

Option to buy means they will accept that bid. Otherwise what's the point of option.

It doesn't work for Barcelona, they need cash right now.

Yup, they've been trying to get rid of several players in the window. I don't see how a loan with an option to buy works for them. It would need to be a loan with guarantee purchase would be my guess. But i'm skeptical this is true.

Nah not a chance for this. Hes basically anti every target we've gone for these last couple of years since we changed our approach. Doesn't want to join, wants to stay at Barca, reported training/personality/motivation issues (especially if he were to join), really bad fitness record, etc. Terrific player when fit, but there's absolutely nothing in this IMO.

A random loan could be possible I guess but not a chance we sign him permanently.
