Feet up at home.
1/10 on Sky Bet. I wouldn't mind if it is reasonable money makes no difference to what else we need.

Free transfer. Good for squad depth. Right wing and CB are still the more pressing issues.

didn’t he want to go to City?

Ole was a Liverpool fan, carragher an Everton fan, O’Shea a Liverpool fan, Bale an Arsenal fan.
Yes city. But he would never have joined Liverpool so not everyone is like Smith as the poster seem to suggest.

What happened to Ole's "focus on youth" strategy?
He has also brought in a number of experienced pros where he's been able to balance out the squad?

We lacked a quality experienced pro at centreback so bought Maguire, we lacked a quality experienced pro at number 10 so bought Bruno, we lack quality experienced players for striking that will be even worse in 2 months so are bringing a formerly world class player in on a free transfer.

Like I said earlier, he's not only good backup but also a great mentor for our young attackers. He can show Rashford, Martial and Greenwood a lot of what he has learnt, particularly about holdup and aerial play.

Youth, courage and success my ass.

Our worldwide scouting network could only find a 33 year old who in the last 12 months has had hip, calf and groin layoffs.

In a season where he only made 14 league appearances.

He's been doing feck all this summer as he's a free agent. Probably not even had a preseason.

Heads need to roll.

He won the lottery. Who else but United would've given him one last massive contract?
His agent has been almost begging teams all summer.

There was a story from Tier 1 journalists less than a week ago that Cavani was 'anxious' that he was still a free agent and nobody had taken the bait.

For anyone who watched PSG last season, this is a comedy deal. He's much, much, much more 'finished' than Alexis ever was for us in terms of his pace, movement, stamina and ability to stay fit. For a player who relied so much on his physicality and non-stop running it's just a non-starter - or should have been.

Why the negativity? The guy is a finisher, he'll get us goals.

Bizarre signing that stinks of desperation. This will turn out another Di Maria/Falcao/Sanchez signing that is probably more Woodward’s idea than Ole’s.

His injuries per Transfermarkt

18/19:
Muscle injury, 51 days
Hamstring injury, 9 days
Hamstring injury, 21 days
Muscle injury, 25 days
Total, 106 days

19/20:
Hip injury, 52 days
Fitness, 28 days
Calf injury, 4 days
Muscle injury, 13 days
Groin strain, 17 days
Total, 114 days

A lot of reoccurring muscular injuries for an ageing player.
Strange one, the hip injury and fitness injury overlap the same period of time.

This in addition to a perennially injured Dembele and an attacking midfielder when we already have 1 too many would be the most Man Utd transfer window in years.

But it's not even a buy, its a free agent transfer

And those previous transfers were brought in to be starting players, Cavani isn't.
If we had bought DCL like some have said we should (which we couldn’t now anyway I doubt many would want before the last 5 games), most would complain about why buy a young forward who’ll get in Martial and Greenwood’s way.

Club can’t win.

A goal or assist every 109 minutes off PSG's bench last year. If he can do the same for us this year and he's on a reasonable wage then he'll be a quality signing.

Literally the only issues there are with this signing are a stupid wage/agent fee (we don't know the details yet so no point in getting worked up on that) and the fact that it should've been done weeks ago.

Cavani isnt on huge wages. It's free transfer for 2 years. Not sure why so many are upset.

You can tell the people who are alright or even actually positive about it are going off his name and less so how he's actually performed in the last couple of years.

Not everyone is like Smith that you seem to suggest. Some could and some could not join a team they hate. I have a feeling Haaland will never wear the United shirt.
you seem to put an emphasis on something (supporting a club as a child) that’s irrelevant for professional footballers.

whether he plays for us or not, it won’t be because of this. He wouldn’t have even entertained negotiations with us before he went to Dortmund if that was the case. But he did.

Surely this isn't an Ole signing. It stinks of Woodward and his circus.

The wanker just needs to stop making footballing decisions and learn to fecking delegate with an ounce of footballing nous.

Big fan of Edinson. If he is fit snd ready to go, why not. Hasnt played a lot last season, so he will be fresh if his injuries are behind him. As a sub and rotation option , fantastic buy. Martial and Mason can learn a thing or two

There is one issue with Cavani while he is supposed to be very nice, he is also supposed to be a loner which apparently did not help when players that take a lot of room like Neymar and Mbappé appeared.

Imagine being Ole and saying you wanted Sancho this transfer window.

Is he better than Ighalo? Yes.

Is he worth the extortionate wages and fees to get him? No.

Do i trust Ed to get the best deal here for the club? Also no.

Basically im happy he's here and he has the potential to be a fans favourite like Zlatan, but i thought we were done with the short term moves and it again highlights the boards complete ineptness and inadequacy to recognise talent and find savy deals to get the right players in for the club.

What is wrong with some of you? He's coming to replace Ighalo as a backup striker, and if he's fit, he's a huge upgrade on Ighalo. You guys are acting like he's coming in to be an automatic starter here, when in reality, he's a depth signing. He makes the squad better, provided he's fit.
Any excuse for a tantrum. Women going through the menopause are less emotional than this.

Or they're taking it for what it is, another striker option in a squad bare thin of quality forwards and not just automatically presuming he'll be another high profile flop that was brought in to lead our attack when he won't be first choice.
