His importance to us has been greatly overstated. Another overrated Van Gaal player who wants to have everything his own way. If he wants to feck off so badly then lower his wage demands slightly and go and play for some team in Turkey. The club has a right to demand a fee for him if they choose.

We benched him for an out of form De Gea and lost the game (Mourinho is apparently the asshole while Ole is the nice guy - but even he didn't do that).

Then we want to recoup a fee (rightfully) for him but it's probably too much for clubs so he and his wife are upset (rightfully).
Also we are now going to be still pay him for doing absolutely nothing, nevermind being DDG's backup. How is that good business.

People acting like Romero is some kind of martyr. Guy has been pocketing thousands to ride the bench. He’ll be aight. And his wife needs to relax with them IG posts

Even if they are rivals, so what? Do their monies stink or what? Romero is FOURTH choice now - we are wasting his salary
we seem to have this mental block against loaning out players that we can't sell. How the decision makers think paying a players salary who will get minimal or no games helps their resale value, I do not know.

He's a footballer. I think he want to play football. Some people actually feel guilty picking up a pay packet for not working. United obviously seeing how many disgruntled players we can gather in one place.

The parties are waiting to know if all the documents have been filed by 8 pm. Confirmations are expected from Lega and FIGC

Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
He signed knowing he would be a backup and was doubtless well paid for doing so. Not sure how United fecked him over? Has a single club made a decent offer for him?
What's a decent offer for a 33 year old 3rd choice goalie who is a free transfer at the end of the season?

I'm genuinely surprised you've not given him a free transfer now, not to "show him respect" but just to get him off the wage bill.

he came here to be the backup and he's done that effectively and been compensated for it. we brought back Henderson and deemed his services no longer needed. if he wants to leave let him.

Our club isn't operated on shrewdness and common sense it's running on sheer fantasy.

It’s the nature of his profession. If his suitors aren’t coming up with decent offers then it is what it is.

Reputation under this regime is finished.

Rio coming out not long ago, Smalling being messed around & Sergio now 3rd choice being toyed with.

From a non-United perspective it is very difficult to like the club currently, utterly shambolic treatment of players imo.

They don’t know whether they submitted docs? Does it mean Woodward outsources transfer filing services?

Must be difficult for him getting only 80k a week for sitting on the bench.

Can’t help but feel these types of stories are just to rile up our fan base. So many negative stories. It’s getting tiresome. Even Talksport spent the entire day taking the piss out of United’s result. They didn’t mention the fact Liverpool had a worse result at all.

I bet we fecked Roma over and sent our paperwork too late. Roma would never deal with us again and we'd be stuck with a very unhappy player.

Let's face it, Woodward and co are well out of their depth and playing pretend at running a football club. Absolute amateurs.

I think everyone here on the caf would be happy with getting 80k a week like that. But if you have made it to elite level of football, there is an immense passion and obsession of the game. They have come so far and ultimately playing football is what they want to do. It's not like an employe at 7/11 getting 80k a week, professionall football players live and breathe football. I understand where he is coming from, and frankly I think he deserves better. But it's a tricky situation with Dean Henderson returning.
