Romero has had possibly the easiest life possible. 10s of thousands per week to train at Man United and practically no pressure on him either.
What a way to live.
Right, no pressure on the latter stages of cup games...right.

The diss Romero is getting in this thread is stupid. So what if a player love being a United player and sacrificed his best playing years to be a UNITED player. So what?
When a good player left because he hated being no.2, you will say he doesn't understand being at the biggest club in the world, when he is staying, you giving him stupid trash talk.

I'd do the same.

Getting up early in the morning, training hard every day for United, brought us cup success for the last 5 years....he did nothing? ffs. He did his fecking job.
He had done his job, and done it well.

However, he doesn’t have to get up very early!!

He was signed as a number 2 and earns a very nice wage for it. He knew what was he was doing when he signed.

I agree though I think he's improved at United and he deserves to be a number 1 elsewhere now in the final part of his career.

Will only have positive feelings towards him, he's been a great number 2.

Will you have positive feelings if he signs for Leeds ?

I like him, but I don't want to see him at Leeds. Rather sell him to another club, or abroad.

For him personally? I wouldn't hate him, I would understand. Would I prefer he chose a different club? of course.

I don't think Romero is the type that would suddenly become vocal against us, he seems respectful.

I was shocked when I looked up the stats. Honestly thought Wikipedia made a mistake. Been with the club for 5 years but only made 7 PL appearances. He deserves better. Would love to see him go to another PL club except the top 6 and Arsenal.
Wolves would be a good move for him.

Some talk we're close to signing him for about 8m.

Couldn't care less. Hendo has no plans to be a career number 2. Hopefully Dave wakes up a bit now he doesn't have such an unambitious training mate.

For years we’ve been happy to have one of the best number 2’s around and now we have people crawling out of the woodworks to shit on him. I don’t get our fans sometimes.

I just don't like career number 2s mate. Why have a deliberate exception to the idea you force yourself into the team or aren't good enough/move on? Automatically creating a something for nothing, sit there and get paid mindset.

I predict the dynamic between Dave and Henderson will be more advantageous for us.

You can only have the competitive dynamic between keepers for a season or two max. Pretty soon the one who’s losing out on playing time will want to leave. Pretty much every side has a ‘career number 2’. They're very important for the squad and we happened to have one of the best around.

So, what's happening with him? A lot of talk that Villa are after Martinez, is anyone else interested? If he stays we'll have three of the best paid goalkeepers in the league.

It's Leeds, not Liverpool. It's not like there isn't a history of us selling them players and vice versa. Sharpe, Cantona, Rio, McQueen, and Wootton and CBJ more recently.

He doesn't usually play in the latter stages to be fair.
Not saying that to belittle Romero's contributions and quality. Lest we forget he's been Argentina's first choice and has played in big international tournaments, maintaining exceptional form. For us, he's been brilliant every time he's needed, and I think the importance of having such a steady, yet content number 2 is getting downplayed because we've had it so good for so long.

I’d have no issues. Leeds haven’t been in the PL for 20 years & hardly even feel like rivals anymore. We were always more their rivals than they were ours anyway. It would mean he would get to play first team football under his compatriot & wouldn’t have to relocate his family. Fans don’t think about things like that. It’s easy to say “sell him abroad” but you don’t think about his wife & kids getting unsettled, I don’t know what year of school his kids are in but I’m sure that will be a factor for him.

Yeah, I was just looking there, he scrapes into the top 10 if you believe that Ederson is really on £65k a week.

We really have to find a buyer. It's madness we're paying Romero that much to sit on the bench.

100% we will get a fee for him ; between 5-10m imo.

Leeds, Everton, West Ham all could realistically buy him and he would improve them.

Over a full season that is extremely little pressure compared to his teammates. Of course he feels pressure, but significantly less than say, De Gea

Romero is the best no2 keeper in the league and has proved that he can win trophies at united and handle the pressure. He has done more to deserve de geas spot than dean henderson.

Im still irritated that he didnt play in the europa semis.

If leeds gave him an offer to be no1 i wouldnt blame him for taking it.

I get he's disappointed, but he's got value, why strengthen a rival when we can sell? They can pay up and they should, as Pickford is an utter liability.

I'd have more sympathy if it's blocked because Ed has some Disneyland valuation.

Nope. Everton have the money to pay and being cheap arseholes. Let them carry on with Pickford.
I think there is more to this, Rio saying how bad he was treated when he said he wasnt needed, Smalling apparently not getting a loyalty payment and now Romeo not getting a move. United pay their 3 keepers in the highest wages of 7 of the best payed keepers in the PL. Has any players wife ever took to twatter before?

No lies told, Ole has treated him awfully.

It's not the coach's decision what fee to accept. I am sure Ole wants Romero to go as much as anyone.

HELLO
I always thought it was harsh playing him in all the cup games leading up to semifinals/finals and then dropping him. And then De Gea having that shocker vs Chelsea

Rio was told in the changing rooms right after his final game that he was told to go.

Smalling is not our problem. Roma have been doing what we been doing with Sancho all summer.

In this case, Everton have the money. Why do we need to loan a third choice keeper? We need to sell him not loan which doesn’t suit us.

I wouldn’t sell him to Everton anyway, they are flying, why strengthen one of their weakest areas on the pitch

I get that but from what I know Romero quite happly played second fiddle and done the shitty legs of cups well then got ditched for De Gea?

That was a Ole decision.

Everton were after your second choice keeper too, I don’t see you lot giving him on a free to them.
