You're suppose to improve your 11 each window, we haven't.

And the trump card to any debate with the everything is rosy brigade, CB.....
Thats a made up rule. Literally pulled from thin air.
Is Telles, VDB and Cavani not an improvement?
Im not saying everything is rosey but the life blood of clubs is made up from signings like these. Its hystetical to be writing them off like this.
Will we only sign players that you heard of from now on?

Big deal, it's just a fecking number. People lost their shit when Owen got it and are losing it now as well. Nothing new.
It is a big deal when we have a manager whose main (only) spiel is restoring the values and traditions of this club, and now he's not even doing that.

We’ll more than likely have to get a centre back in January.

This Traore kid better be good he might be the saving grace of this transfer window

edit: forgot he doesn’t get here to January, feck!

If you cant be atleast a little excited to see Cavani in a Utd shirt give the sport up.

Take the ineptitude of our board out of it. We all know that.

AS Saint-Etienne pushes very hard to bring back William Saliba (Arsenal) on loan. The leaders were not optimistic at the beginning, [but] now they believe in it much more. As announced by Goal, ASSE [also] tries to sell M'Baye Niang (Rennes).

What's to be excited about? He's a has-been coming here because no one else was willing to pay his ridiculous wages, his best option prior to our desperado's showing up with their 30 pieces of silver was Benfica, it's like being excited by getting hold of a 1995 Porsche with no engine and rusted wheels.

People saying “it’s only a number”

Why did we bother change Greenwood to #11 or Rashford to #10 if it’s not a big deal? It’s obviously a big deal to the players and believe it or not. Number choices send a message to fans.

The fact they give him the number 7 is like a middle finger to everyone who thought that was going to be Sancho. I’ve wanted the Cavani signing earlier. But this window has been awful. Banter club

Wages?

He’s reported to be on 150-180K!

Hardly groundbreaking

Not confirmed from the club that he’s getting 7 yet

Sounds like the players are not kept in the loop at all. I would have thought he'd switch back to right back, given Dalot is off and Laird struggles with fitness. AWB certainly needs competition for his place. Very magnanimous from Southampton to pay "all his wages"...

Can't be doing this.
I think Williams will definitely now be back up RB. He's much better there.

Try 200k at least and he's not worth half that at this point.

What about Gerrard? Higuain? Falcao? Shevchenko? Torres? Cavani is past it, a desperation buy because Woodward thinks he's a big name, nothing more.
Yeah, let's lump them all in the same boat with no regard whatsoever for context.

Except highlighting the clubs horrifically bad dealings again and ambition.
To be honest the youngsters we know nothing about so can’t really comment. DVB is a good signing for cover. Telles is also good for cover at a great price. Cavani is a panic buy, not a fan personally but hope he does well, stupid wages again and completely fecked that up.

I’m as pissed as anyone that we didn’t get Sancho after the long pursuit but the main thing that pisses me off is the lack of first team cover in the most gaping position, centre back.

Sancho on his own isn’t going to solve our issues so comparing us improving on strength in depth to one signing is pointless.

Realistically what we needed to do to improve on our strength in depth is to sign players to push our “first team” to backups. Our first team is so overrated, we have lowered standards so much as a club and fan base and are raving about players that are actually just good and not world beaters. It’s sad really.

Considering we're paying a fairly high fee for Traore, do you guys think we'll still go for Sancho next time?
If that Serbian player is coming that will be 3 RW (Traoe & Pellistri). Yes, Sancho may be on a different level but surely we wouldn't go for a 4th winger.

I watched a couple of games of his. He was a super-scary dribbler for opposition defenders to face. He's definitely one to keep an eye on for this season.
