Yeah, it will be a disaster if he repeats what he did in his first proper season for us :houllier::houllier:
Honestly, we didnt really need a Sancho, and a lot of people made that point at the end of last season. Greenwood has been performing at a high level since the lockdown and now we have signed two players that can challenge and eventually take the right wing slot from him once he becomes a striker again. Even better than that, for two years, he has Cavani to work with, who will help him in the areas he struggles in to play the no 9 role. Cavani, who will compete with Martial and help us get more goals front the no.9 role as I can see both him and Martial getting us 15-20 goals each.

When people calm down from the hysteria of not getting Sancho, they will realise that this was a good window for us.
Any move we make on a centre back will need us to know how well Mengi and Tuanzebe can perform at the club.
Any move for a DM will need us to sort out Pogba once and for all. In addition, both Matic and Fred can play the position for this year, and in easier games, i am sure VDB can cover that position too.

The one thing people mostly get wrong is that leagues like Argentina and Uruguay are pretty aggressive. Full of hard tackles and quite rough matches. Also realistically it wouldn’t take too long for him to bulk up - just look at Greenwood pre and post lockdown.
The way people talk about the PL you wouldn't believe the likes of Bernardo, Silva, etc, do just fine with the physicality despite being slightly built themselves. The kid will be fine. If he's good enough, just like those other players, he'll find a way to be productive.

Agreed re Tuanzebe, feels a bit of a waste getting someone else in when he's barely played. He's generally looked OK when he has as well.

Will admit you make some very valid points but signing a CB leader & DM have to be top priority next summer, don't expect us to do anything in January unless a top drawer RW option pops up out of nowhere

Good to see a little bit of common sense.

Did Pellistri disappear into Woodward’s 2013 urgent transfer business plane or something? I’m surprised he wasn’t announced before Cavani.

For £8M who gives a feck? If it works great, if not we'll probably get most of the money back when we sell him.

Up to this season, Maguire has been considered a decent pick up for us. A few bad games after a bad experience where he nearly went to jail should not change that. He is still a really good defender and people have judged him harshly. Last season, he literally had to play the role as the lone defender, as lindelof is so passive that Maguire had to cover everything. He also takes on the responsibility of being our leader in bringing the ball out of the back 4, Lindelof and Bailly shy away from that and force Maguire to be the lone active force there. All this season has shown us is how bad the backline would look if Maguire and AWB are off form and highlights the defensive weaknesses of Lindelof, Bailly and Shaw. It's a bit like the Pogba situation before Bruno ( even though he does deserve criticism). He's the best player and is forced to do so much because his teammates are caught lacking. He is expected to perform perfectly and is barely creditied when he does so. So when he does make mistakes or is off form, people jump on his back and slaughter him for all of his own inadequacies without reflecting on how much he offers us.

Redknapp is trying to make it exciting. He's pretty much slated every deal done today, this coming from the guy who used to sign the biggest load of crap going on deadline day.

Watching the TV or is it watching me
I was having similar thoughts earlier, who is the defensive coach? Yesterday Our defence gave far to much space to the attacking opposition. Is that because our centre halfs are to slow to get tight and can be easily turned and by-passed so to compensate they stand off 6 yards to ensure they are not caught for pace?

My biggest gripe yesterday was our right sided defence, lindelof and AWB. It was very obvious from the offset Brightons main threat was coming down their left, with Trossard, yet AWB and lindelof gave him acres of space all game and failed to snuff him out...and later for the equaliser the other Brighton attacker On the right Had no united player within 8 yds of him on a cross... surely our coaches should have seen the issue and Sorted it, or the captain Maguire should have Sorted it and told AWB to get tight on Trossard.

We desperately need some pace at centre half And far more than we need A right winger - sadly i feel we wont get it This window.

Can only say Redknapp probably disappointed no one has signed Kranjcar

Are Sky trying to hype this as a mystery transfer in the age of internet and social media?

Hope we actually get to see him or will he disappear into the u23s and become an afterthought that never makes it here and we will then struggle to sell him down the line.

Hilarious. Like we’d be able to get a penny if we wanted to sell!
We got money for Darmian after he'd played like 5 games in 2 seasons, Sevilla or Valencia would stump up £5M for a young South American talent, unless he's utter dogshit of course.

I can tell this guy doesn’t have star power based on his name. Reserve team written all over him.
