Should we consider selling Pogba?

If that is true, then he is rather thick. If he can't see that trolling fans of the club he supports or showing lack of respect/concern when losing is not the right thing to do just because his agent tells him to, then he is thick isn't it?
I don't think Raiola or Pogba care too much about consequences with the fanbase, it's ultimately immaterial in the bigger picture of getting what he wants. Next summer United can either renew his contract and try to squeeze an extra year max out of a player who wants to go, or let him go at a reduced cost. Or who knows and Ed caves in and gives him a huge extension (erm, so to speak). Pogba is in a pretty strong position.

Pogba cannot walk back into the team after a saying that about madrid. Imagine Fergie if a player did that.

Ole needs to show who's boss
Are people's memories really that weak? It's been but 11 years when we faced a similar situation. And the player walked right back into the team (rightly so).

There is no denying Pogba is in a strong position but that is the case with players who perform as well isnt it? He does not need to do all these antics to get a move away from the club unless Raiola has convinced him that if he continues this behavior, United will not use the extension clause that they have.
Truth be told, his bargaining position with United or any prospective club can only get stronger if he backs it up with a better attitude and performance.

Feels like he felt he fecked up with his quote about Madrid so had to talk well about us after it to balance the quote a little bit.
Slight problem being they don't want you or the cnut you call an agent anywhere near their club, and frankly, given the fact you're pretty shite 75% of the time who can blame them.

Ronaldo was far and away our best player, was probably the best in the world at the time and always performed on the pitch. Pogba isn't even our best midfielder at the minute and rarely performs anything like his reputation, wage packet or ego suggests he does.

So essentially what we are saying is if a player performs then it is ok for him to dick us around and we will look the other way. Good luck with prima donnas like Pogba not acting like complete dicks in that case. If we wanted to set a precedent, then ronaldo should have been chucked to the bench and kept there until he apologized. Thankfully, Fergie had enough sense to know what was better for the success of the club.

Pogba should absolutely be dropped to the bench. But because he has been underwhelming for too long and only turns up once in 7 games. Not because of these silly shenanigans.

I don't find anything personal about his Real statement since its an obvious stunt to squeeze a new deal and more money from the club. The funny thing is that nobody is knocking at our door for him at least not at his wages. His first team status should be in question not because of his Real statement but because he is showing f... all on the pitch yet again. And one more thing lets compare him to some actual players we sold to Real: Ronaldo (the best in the World alongside Messi), RVN (a goalscoring machine and probably one of the top 4 CFs we ever had) and Beckham (best cross in the game ever period and somebody who really bled for the shirt). I'm certain that Pogba is delusional enough to consider himself better than all the players mentioned above.

Real Madrid will buy anyone who has a good European Championship. Their fans are going to demand it.

I'm hoping for a Pogba masterclass during the tournament. It'll make the inevitable transfer feel painful for United fans; but in the long run, all three parties will feel the benefit.
This would be perfect for all involved. But we wouldn't be able to resist handing him a huge contract if he has that good a tournament.

He's a prima donna who feels no semblance of shame after a loss like that and considers this the appropriate time to make such comments. He is a liability who takes no responsibility on the pitch and we should get rid.

This is his 5th year at the club and there is no shred of leadership in him. Classic fair-weather player who will always be a cherry on top in a good team but a weakness in a team which needs his leadership.

Just after the transfer window closes and we're trying to bounce back from the last defeat? His timing is impeccable isn't it.
Rather stupid to be honest. I dont care if we sell him, problem I have is that the club is unable to buy well after

I can't remember what Ronaldo said about Madrid exactly, but it was something like "no-one knows the future". I don't think you can draw a direct comparison, to Pogba and his team publicly courting Madrid.

You are right, he deserves to be dropped on his performances, I think comments like he has made just drains any patience the fans have for him.

Never have I seen a player whose position on the pitch is big of a headache as Pogba. He needs to play in a very specific position, with very specific teammates and very specific instructions to produce and even then he won't be as consistent.

Why all this just for one player who's not really as influential ? With this he just unbalances the team.
This. Its not like we are asking him to tend the goal here, so if everyone else have to jump through that many hoops to make him work, is he really that good of a player?

I hope for Paul Pogba's career that he does leave, the club is currently a sinking ship with no ambition to win trophies. Why should he stay?

If he handed in a transfer request in the morning I'd fully back him, I'd do the same If Martial, Bruno, De Gea etc did the same
Who do you support? Posts like this irritate like no other. Like wasps at a picnic.

Vive la Pogba FC.
I'm sorry, but standing on the Stretford end gives a fantastic view of how good he really can be.
He hasn't shown it enough unfortunately, but he is sublime at times.

The main difference is Ronaldo showed respect for the club through his performances on the pitch, Pogba doesn't.

Oh, and Ronaldos flirtation with Madrid was mutual, they actually wanted him and were prepared to pay, they couldn't care less about Pogba and I doubt they'd even match his wages let alone pay a fee for him.

Pogba should be concerned with improving his own performances on the pitch, then maybe his love for Madrid will be reciprocated.

Him going is not a loss from a football perspective. Its a loss on Eds balance sheet though unless we get a huge fee.
Noone was prepared to stump up 2 years ago since when hes floated around Dubai and been underwhelming when he has played. Be amazed if we get clise to 50m for him now in the wake of covid. He is likely to run the contract down and go on a free after strolling for another 18 months.
Id bench him.

gotta bite the bullet and prepare to let him go at the end of the season if he doesn't buck up. Ole needs to bench him now if he wants to keep his job.
I won't pretend to know the intricacies of the transfer market however we should have bit the bullet a while back. I am personally not an advocate of Pogba playing as a holding mid. His personal ambitions with Madrid aside, I see him as an attacking mid or impact sub. Thats it.

Signing Grealish would have been a good move if you want competition for Bruno (though you could argue Donny is fine). We could easily of got shot of Pogba already according to my logic. The fact that the management wanted Paul to anchor the midfield is their choice.

Then there is this lovely thread titled "replacing Matic". Not that I advocate replacing him per se but we have been crying out for more top quality holding mids for several seasons. Matic needs support. Strengthen here and we have a balanced midfield taking shape. This should have happened during this off-season at the latest. An issue discussed for 3 seasons now.

Then we have all the other holes in our squad with attacking wingbacks (lets see what Telles offers), another winger and that generational defender we have been talking about.

Anyway Ole has not seemed to recognise the problem with midfield. And I agree that he better sort it out or his job will be at risk because quite frankly he should have no excuses with the time he's had.

How is he our best player?

He's our most overrated player, he's been shit that long it's impossible to suggest he's anything other than overrated.
apart from being up there with top scorer and assists in 2018-2019 and playing well after the restart. He’s had a nightmare three games after having COVID but to call say he’s been shit forever is ridiculous.

IMO, Pogba is a player that could make a good team great, but not necessarily could make an average team good. He raises a team ceiling, but can't raise a team floor.
I think that's a big reason why he succeed at Juve and France, but not at United. Both teams are well oiled machines with senior players who can hold him accountable. Also worth to mentioned that Juventus are simply miles ahead of everyone in Serie A. They could and do win the league without him. Juve's floor as a team is already high, and Pogba simply give them another dimension to raise their ceiling as a team.

So contrary to others, I think he could be a player for Madrid, or Bayern. But that's also depends whether they have the money that we want for Pogba

See my post above.

I agree that we should get rid of him some time ago. I believe there's still a player there, but that's not a player for the current Man United.
Grealish would be great, but with the prices quoted for him, I doubt we have the money for him.

We should sell him if somebody comes in for him with a decent offer but I doubt anyone would. Frankly, his performances have not justified the wages he is on and no club is going to look to match these figures.
From a United perspective, he is not the player we need right now. He is the type of player that you would need to create a specific system to mask his deficiencies but his performances don't deserve to create a special system for him. Best way to describe him would be a midfielder with some great attacking attributes that can lead to some moments of absolute magic, with limited positional sense, mired by inconsistencies and is averse to putting the hard yards in.

Knowing Raiola I wouldn't be surprised if he allows Pogba to keep this Madrid talk alive so that he can then in the background engineer a move to Juventus, and let Madrid/Zidane take the flack for "destabilizing" his player.

Should have got rid years ago because like we always do we cling on to players for too long that should be gone for different reasons and shoot ourselves in the foot by watching their value drop and drop and drop and pogba won't be much different, we will be lucky to even get 80 million next summer.

Our only hope will be he has an amazing euro's and that the coronavirus doesn't further screw up football over the entire season in terms of fans being allowed in the stadium or another potential season being stopped halfway through it as it has had a big impact already on clubs playing down big money for transfers.

Whether he signs a new contract extension with us or not, we’ll never get a decent fee from selling him now. Nobody is willing to pay anything like what we think he’s worth because he’s not anything like worth it.

He’ll end up going to Madrid on a free because that’s all they think of him.

When and if he becomes one of the best players in the Premier League I imagine only then will Real or any top team for that matter show concrete interest in Pogba and that is looking pretty unlikely at the moment.
All I hear is Pogba and the media talk about it but all I have seen is his agent offering him to clubs and there have been no takers.
Lots and lots of smoke but so hard to see the fire.

How many great games has he had for us since he returned? I can only think of a few (from the first season) and then a half or two (rather than the whole game).

Yeah this sums it up. Personally sick of hearing about his natural talent and everything that needs to happen to bring it out of him. He’s a midfielder, being played in midfield. Even if it isn’t a system that accommodates him perfectly, he shouldn’t be toss as often as he is.

I was talking about this on social media, and got told the usual ones he our best player, he needs basically better world class players to show hes the best player, all that usual nonsense.

Blows my mind people still say that crap.

He been here 5 years, why the hell does he need a whole world class team and a supposed world class manager to get some sort of consistent game out of him?

Bruno came in, with the same team and completely out shone him. Its bizarre logic.

He defo has a huge fanboy base of people who think hes zidane level based on nothing. He was never close to that level of player.

He know's what he's doing.

He also know's Mbappe is off to Madrid next summer and I can't blame him for wanting to be part of that. Last month he was excited to play with Sancho, now he's got Cavani and Telles instead.

I think we're at the point where this has to end. It's a relationship that's soured and despite Pogba being a great player on his day, him being here now feels like a forced marriage. Just recoup what we can for him next summer and try and sign Grealish or someone else, the Pogba experiment just hasn't worked out I'm afraid.

Mate I was a season ticket holder throughout the 2000's only getting rid of it in 2014.

I pick and choose my games these days but I never miss a match because I have sky and the Internet. My view is no different than yours, in fact with replays it's better.

Such a stupid comment, we all know he's capable of the sublime but the issues isn't in his feet it's in his head. The Pogba of the Bournmouth match at Old Trafford is the player we all want to see, one touch, two touch football. We don't want the greedy man who thinks he can carry the ball out from his own half, he can't do it and he gets caught on the ball all the time.

He's become a liability within the team, I'd love to see the stats for how many chances against us from Pogba's loss of possession.

apart from being up there with top scorer and assists in 2018-2019 and playing well after the restart. He’s had a nightmare three games after having COVID but to call say he’s been shit forever is ridiculous.
Even in his most productive year his stats were hugely blown up by a period of time his form went through the roof. It was about a two month period and it wasn't long before that form disappeared.

We shouldnt be accepting his behaviour full stop, if he was turning in record numbers like Ronaldo he'd be getting more respect from the fans but he's not.

Its that simple.

As opposed to Pogball, where a overrated player gets picked on reputation but is clearly a weaklink and his fanboys defend him no matter what..
Oleball has won him a Norwegian league. Pogball has one him league titles and a World Cup.

Some of us are more than happy to see mercenaries leave the club.

Those who support mercenaries can also follow them wherever they go.

We support Manchester United.

So many people, myself included, thought this cretin would be our savior in midfield and perhaps form part of a title-winning team.

How wrong. He perfectly sums up everything wrong with he modern footballer. He is a half-assed (that is being generous) overpaid clown.
