My 2 transfers with aim to prevent a price rise (Didn't happen)

Werner out - I waited patiently for 4 weeks hes done sweet f.a
Greenwood out - He is nothing like what he was end of last season and looks to only be getting 70mins as well so no point

Son in - Obvious reasons.
Wilson in - Has a lovely set of fixtures and looks like Newcastles main goal scorer with pens.
United, Wolves and Everton in the next 3. I mean I know we're shit but I still wouldn't call them lovely.

I'm stuck with Wood (pfnaar). Can't drop him before West Brom though. Will move to Mitro after for their home fixtures v Palace and West Brom and then on to Antonio after that.

Wood v West Brom
Mitro v Palace
Mitro v West Brom
Antonio v Fulham

Expected goals = 4+
Reality = 0

I think I looked more at the long list of green fixtures but hoping he might go on a little run. If Fraser gets back to full fitness I don't see why them 2 can't put together a little partnership.

Mitrovic and Fulham are dogshit and I say that as someone who had Mitrovic from GW1

I'm so stupid! I put in Walker Peters for Reece James by accident! God knows how. Now I made the transfer I wanted to make at a 4pt hit (Bruno for KDB).

No Son/Kane yet, hope it doesn't bite me

Do people here play the draft game?

I have 3rd pick waivers and there is the potential for me to get Cavani but my front 3 is Bamford/Maupay and Watkins and that strategy has paid off so far.

Cavani smells like a super sub to me at the moment. Am I wrong?

Ollie Watkins anyone? And anyone thinking of taking out Ings or Jimenez?

What are the people with Martial doing? I thought United would havecappealed his red card but that doesn't seem to be happening. Thinking of swapping him for a number of strikers, Ings, Wilson, Calvert -Lewis, Jimenez, or Richarlison.

Not sure how he will do against deeper defenses. Will Villa keep it up?
Although no team look solid so he might enjoy things with the service he got from Grealish and Barkley.

Telles looks a dead asset at 5.5. His attacking output will be way, way down in a tough league with no set pieces.
If he secures a starting place, he could be a good option. He might get to take some direct free kicks when it is more suited for a left footer, and he is likely going to be taking a lot of indirect free kicks and corners from the left side too.

So looking at my team on WC, very happy with it except one position: striker worth up to 6.4. My other two strikers are DCL and Maupay.

Options are:

Callum Wilson - most Newcastle goals will involve him and he's on penalties but Newcastle are generally shit, their fixtures aren't easy for a while and he's a known fantasy troll.

Ollie Watkins - looked great in pre-season, in an improved villa team and scored a hat-trick last weekend. But he's still untested at this level, will he have the consistency?

Antonio - very good form since the covid break, West ham didn't buy a striker so he will play up front and knows how to get a goal or two. However, his fixtures for the next three are very tough.

Bamford - Blistering start for an attacking Leeds team but he's nearly converted every chance he's got so far, surely that'll dry up sooner or later.

Really tough choice. Currently on Wilson but I know this will bug me for a while. Would love some input...

Oh I know. I had him for the game he scored. I've always had him at the right times it seems. The trick is to jump on and off at the right time with these sorts of players. More luck than skill unfortunately.

There's Antonio at 6.3m. Fixtures don't look exciting though.

It is tricky. That is why I think I told you not to wildcard before, but you might see things differently than I do. Feels like so many things are up in the air. Next week having tricky fixtures too for the popular picks.
I think Wilson having pens is a nice bonus. Although I can't see them being this attacking force in too many games. Steve Bruce is not a bloody attacking manager.
West Ham do look good. At some point I will get Bowen or Antonio I think. Playing against Pool and City might be ideal at the moment now the way they look.
I could see West Ham beating them too, but not confident enough for investing in them.
I know too little about Watkins. Just it was bloody impressive to score 3 vs Liverpool. It is bloody tempting to get him. I might get him and Son for a -4 over getting Kane.
Bamford looks good though and Leeds are attacking.

Watkins was dynamite in the championship too. But I think we have to remember that Liverpool had Adrian in goal!

Might go for Watkins or Wilson and then swap to Antonio after his next two games...

I would personally go for Watkins I think. Even if playing against us might be good for Wilson. Just I feel we will bounce back and defend much better.
Watkins got Leeds and Southampton after Leicester that could be good fixtures to have. Even though they both have improved from a poor start in terms of defending.
Although this season is crazy and I am not feeling sure what is a good fixture anymore.

The old days when we had a top 6 clearly was nice for Fantasy. It mostly worked avoiding them and aiming to play against the rest.
Then you had poor teams conceding loads that you could target and so on.
I have always played the fixtures a lot in fantasy, but not sure what to do this season.

Yeah I think I may go Watkins to be fair. I just can't stand Wilson as he's a troll and Newcastle play dog shit football.

I'm in a similar dilemma and sticking with Maupay. Takes penalties, cries and Brighton have easy-ish fixtures.

I run two accounts. Main account is mix of superstars with 4,5 mil defence and other (on my daughters name :) ) is rotation type. With only Kane as superstar and others are 6-7 mil players.
Rotation squad has 70points average with all chips available. Superstar team is on 55 point average. I must say that i like rotation team much more. It is fun when you have options to mix. In one team i have 4,5 players who are just there to fill the squad and in other all players can bring points.

Anyone fancy McGinn? Looks like a pretty good replacement for Podence, who has been a let down, like most of the Wolves players. I remember having him pre injury last year and he was almost a must have.

Opinions:

Kane and Graelish vs. Watkins and Sterling.

I'm leaning towards the latter as I already have Son...

Kane and Grealish only I think City may be shaky a bit, they have Arsenal next too. But I've taken some big risks on my side - took KDB out so officially no City players!

Former. Brought in Son already but if If I could bring in Kane, I'd have done so already. Kane and Grealish are so involved for their teams that I'd say it's an easy decision to make.

Done. Thanks guys. Team below:

Martinez
Robertson, Saiss, Chilwell
Salah, Graelish, Son, Rodriguez
Maupay, DCL, Kane

Subs: Steer, KWP, Ayling, Bissouma

Money left over: 0.5.

If you can see a 0.5 investment, please do let me know. Can easily do Robertson to TAA for example.

That is a sexy side although heavy on Spurs. You could always get two keepers if you enjoy trying to predict them.
I do even if I suck at it. Always missing the big hauls ;).

A tip for you. Change Steer to another 4.0m goalkeeper. Thank me later.

The plan is to keep that double up for the next few games as spurs have a super easy run in and hopefully after that, Aguero will be back. If not, replacing either one of Kane and Son is very easy.

No way will I get two keepers though! The rage will kill me!

Yeah it is not bad to have them both just I never like having two captain options from the same side. I have had it though, but normally not for very long.
If they score it doesn't matter though. You have Salah and Kane as your main guys to captain which is enough. Then could try punts from your other picks too.

Villa look like they could be an interesting team. They are unbeaten in about seven games going back to last season, and are defensively strong at home. They have got some interesting options, and they also have a belter of a run coming up from GW6 to GW15.

You don't want to waste two Villa slots on goalkeepers. I already made that mistake on my wildcard, and I will have to waste a transfer in GW7 to correct it.

I really like it. I'm not sure how long Mitchell will be about but he's a nice player to have.

Is it worth maybe looking at Saint Max for Jorginho, I only say that because he's a penalty man and more than likely he won't do more than 3 points if he gets time.

It feels very kneejerk to have Castagne and Chilwell with money in the bank to have a Liverpool full back.

Is it worth taking a hit to do James -> Chilwell and TAA -> Robertson? I'm quite happy with the rest of my team, and have a decent start to the season. THe defense have been generally horrible, though, with both rotation and lack of points being an issue. This will even out I'm sure, but keeping rotation players (James, Dunne, Mitchell) is never a good thing.

I don't see the point in having 1.8 in the bank. You can easily spend that on upgrading for example Mitchell, who's destined for the bench in the near future anyway. Or upgrade Jorginho. No Liverpool defenders when you absolutely have the money is trying to be too clever I think, as I think they'll come good.

No offence, but I don't like to help you out here, when you seemed a bit posh about your own team which you wanted to tease about how good it was, but didn't want to show earlier on. You didn't want to share, so I don't see a great need to share advice the other way with you.

It seems strange to see you help out others in that regard, as if it's a one way-street of advice the one day, and next day you're asking for basic advice like this.

That's the whole point in having 1.8 in the bank. I currently have no Pool defenders and only Salah as a premium mid. If and when KDB starts preforming and Liverpool look more solid in the back I can easily upgrade. From the first 4 fixtures there's no value in City attackers or Liverpool defenders.
