The reason that many support him is to do with their wanting - whether projected through Trump or otherwise - power and control over other people and how they are allowed to live their lives. It's about control versus live-and-let-live. It's always been about that, even tho' the exercise of the freedoms they oppose don't affect their own freedom in any way.

Hence they want state control of women's bodies when it comes to choice re. abortion. Hence they want non-whites to be 'kept in their place'. Hence the chants of "lock them up" when it comes to public figures seen to be different (e.g. ' liberals'). Hence the opposition to allowing gays/lesbians to marry. Hence the deification of the police as instruments of control. And so on.

The alleged "Christianity" of evangelicals, for example, is just a thin camouflage for this desire for power and control over other people - with Jesus (and Trump as his surrogate) projected to be a sovereign king who will return to rule with a rod of iron and punish the "wicked".
Can’t disagree with any of this.

Needs 65-70% of remaining vote which maybe just possible because a lot of that uncounted vote comes from districts where Biden already winning 70:30.

but in reality, looks like Biden will fall just short.
On the contrary, at the current rate of return, most predictions have Biden winning PA by 100-200k votes. What’s your source for this?

There are 1m votes left to count, 261k deficit. The only way it’s in Trump territory is if mail breaks anywhere close to 2:1. They are currently 3:1 overall and above 85/90 in Pittsburgh/Philly.

Anyone know what is going on in Nevada? Only an 8k lead for Biden and only 75% of the votes counted. That really has me worried.
Me too. I can picture a lot of husky looking men in 3 piece suits sitting around a table in a boathouse. Smoking cigars, drinking whiskey and doing the deal.

The shit defending and explaining GOP claims of fraud here should be banned. No two ways about it. This is dangerous.

I actually think this election will see a division amongst the Republican party and we may see half either move to the libertarian party, or the reintroduction of the tea party for the far right loons.

I dont believe that every republican is a right wing loon, but atleast 30% of their demographic falls into that demographic.
That’s probably on the low end, but close. Where the cleave occurs between Trump-supporting republicans & non-Trump supporting republicans will be an interesting study. There are redeemable souls there.

Wow PA margin has shrunk to 260+ from near 800!
Lead was 800k with 75%/80% of the vote counted. The last 6%-8% of the vote has seen that lead destroyed. These are the early votes Biden was talking about and the NYT referred to. At this rate Biden could win PA by 200k votes.

Nevada: Have said Tomorrow morning 9AM but CNN just said there is a chance we may get some more results today too.

well there has already been a few cases of fake robocall, fake early ballot collection boxes and spreading fake information about voting rules and deadlines.
Not to mention all the high jinx re. missing deliveries of ballots via USPS

Go up the chain and you can see the rate of change, it’s been very consistent and there’s no reason to expect it’ll dramatically change.
