Should've been coming out and saying the lads are ready to prove their doubters/people criticising wrong. That would challenge the lads to improve their performances which is what we need but are not getting.Tweet

Well, surely you’d be incensed at the bad loss and you’d be even more switched on to work after two losses in a row.
What a defeatist statement. I guess he’s got an excuse ready if we don’t win right? I don’t recall Chelsea having issues last weekend facing Burnley after travelling to Russia midweek.
Bit of selective hearing there. He mentioned the late flight and players' mental and physical fatigue after Wednesday night's game, but in the very next sentence he says "..but today has been a bright, sunny day in Manchester and the players are ready to give a reaction" Why don't you make assumptions on the players' thoughts based on what he says about today, and his statements about wanting have a positive reaction; play with passion and fight etc.?Call me crazy, but those sorts of statements are the type to seep into the players minds. The general air of the conference was very defeatist too.
Almost like: ah, the gaffer said we’re knackered, and we did get off the plane really late. And we’re in shit form. I’m going to play in a wallowing fashion and just hope we can see out a decent enough result.
Ah, see. You fell for my trap. Negative sentences have a bigger impact than positive ones. I heard both sentences but what stuck in my mind? What will stick in the players mind? Tune in tomorrow and find out.Bit of selective hearing there. Way to rally the troops boss! Is he trying to say the players are over worked? Is he trying to garner sympathy for these over paid divas?Tweet

Translation - “when we lose on Saturday just remember that the players are knackered so it’s not my fault”Tweet

This is not just for you but for all who have replied similarly. Please at least watch the whole presser before commenting.Way to rally the troops boss! Is he trying to say the players are over worked? Is he trying to garner sympathy for these over paid divas?
May as well not show up tomorrow and hand Everton a default 3-0, that way we'd save ourselves from the embarrassment and we get some much needed R&R for the players.
What do you expect from any manager of this club when every lost game is the signal that your a complete failure and useless at your job, with a baying mob of journo's and your own supposed fans calling for your head every chance they get.Even the journalists are feeling sorry for him and asking how he is feeling, how embarrassing is that?
Tired clichés, defeatist attitude, and this is meant to be the manager of Manchester United? My word how far we have fallen.
Does it not remind you of anything?Tired clichés, defeatist attitude, and this is meant to be the manager of Manchester United? My word how far we have fallen.
Those are negative quotes, he should have kept everything positive, why say that the players were tired, and had tired minds, resulting in not doing much training when they got back? This is not just for you but for all who have replied similarly. He was asked to comment on internal / players’ reaction as well as external.
He said they had a long flight, tired, but today it is a new/sunny day in Manchester, etc. He finished it with a positive message.
Unbelievable, really. In a lot of threads you read now how someone who came 3rd last year despite a paper thin squad and all key players injured or not available for longer time periods is apparently the worst manager in the league.Whatever he does, he is wrong according to some of you. When anti Solskjaer agenda is in full gear.
That’s because you want his comments to come across like this. Those are negative quotes, he should have kept everything positive, why say that the players were tired, and had tired minds, resulting in not doing much training when they got back?
It comes across poorly, whether ending on a positive note or not.
Maybe the rot has set at the roots, at the entitled fans' level. Such a defeatist bunch.Regardless of who the manager is, the club will continue to be this way for a long time. The club is rotten at the top and trickles down to every part of the club.
What do I expect? The manager of Man Utd to come out and say something like ''That last performance was embarrassing, we've been on the training ground relentlessly ever since, and I promise that, that kind of performance will never happen again, look forward to our response vs Everton''. Like a winner would. Is that too much to ask really? What do you expect from any manager of this club when every lost game is the signal that your a complete failure and useless at your job, with a baying mob of journo's and your own supposed fans calling for your head every chance they get.
Pretty hard to stay positive in that position, no matter if you rate Ole or not. Ole's actually far more positive than any of the previous managers at this stage of their employment at United.
Yep, its all about Ole now ... I’m this, I’m that, me, me, me i, i, iEven the journalists are feeling sorry for him and asking how he is feeling, how embarrassing is that?
Tired clichés, defeatist attitude, and this is meant to be the manager of Manchester United? My word how far we have fallen.
No, I'd prefer a manager to not say negative things, I'm not reading between the lines, im reading the things he said, and those things are negative - spin it all you want. That’s because you want his comments to come across like this.
He is asked questions and has to answer them.
Yes, I know that's what the press will be looking for. Nice of him to feed them...No harm done in that press conference I think, unless you want to see the negatives.
Psychology is an important part of management. That’s because you want his comments to come across like this.
He is asked questions and has to answer them.
Hah yeah you won’t hear that from any manager mate, Ole or otherwise.
Instead Ole is giving every excuse under the sun, from Covid to them being tired & having a late flight back, and even the journos are asking how he is feeling? It's a farce.
I agree the Glazers are ultimately responsible for everything, but what can we actually change right now?Does it not remind you of anything?
The tired cliches and defeatist attitude was shown by Moyes through his entire stint, was shown by LVG towards the end of his reign, was shown by Mourinho all the way from pre season in his final season to the day he was sacked.
The same will happen with Poch in 3 years time.
Regardless of who the manager is, the club will continue to be this way for a long time. The club is rotten at the top and trickles down to every part of the club.
As long as the Glazers and are running the show, you are going to have to get used to this repetition every couple of years.
