Our weaknesses are very clear. I think coaches who don't explore it are naive. Give us space and we will destroy the opponent. Keep a compact low block or press us like animals and we will break

We could click into gear or be on the back foot panicking all match. 2/3-0 loss or win would be easily expected. Ole will be smiling with a low or no score draw.

The comical defending for both goals in Istanbul might have an effect to sit deep though. We looked similar to the first few league games with our defence all getting sucked in. Seems as though Maguire and the communication has gone to shit again.

Whatever the result it could be a while before confidence and off the pitch problems are fixed.

Our manager needs to make some very bold decisions!

Put Maguire and Pogba on the bench. It’s about sending a message to the rest of the squad.

    Use a 4312 formation.

    DDG

    AWB
    Tuanzebe
Lindelof. (can’t believe I’m writing this)
    Shaw

    Fred
    McTominay
    DvdB

    Bruno

    Rashford
    Martial

Use Greenwood/Cavani and Telles if we need more firing power.

Stop with our unsynchronized press, it doesn’t work. If we lose possession we must keep our formation compact and avoid being stretched vertically.

We must play with a much higher tempo. No more walking with the ball, sideway pass or minimal movements.

Playing safe and only play counter attack maybe give us some goal scoring opportunities but it’s not the long term solution.

Think Lindelof is injured isn't he?

I reckon we could see the return of the back 3/5.

Ole is quite a lucky manager when he needs a result and I suspect we will get a 0–1 result with a penalty.
If we get a penalty, we should be able to win.
Notice that the 2 games we lost - no pens.
And it is quite rare that we don't get a pen.

I was expecting more comments from people wanting to lose this so that we will see Ole out the door.

A humiliating defeat would most likely be the end of Ole, but I reckon we will scrape through and delay the inevitable.

If they come out and leave space then could be like we saw against Spurs & Citu last season

Which is why we are in a mess since SAF left. Nobody wants to make the hard decisions.

Knowing our luck, we will probably end up winning this comfortably.

You can tell the players like Ole on a human level. They often dig him out when things get tough. That's why we're so inconsistent.

They can raise their game on pure emotion alone (showing up Mourinho after he left and putting in a performance when Ole is on the verge of the sack.), yet can't maintain those levels on a weekly basis.

Better coaching would get more from this group. Motivation alone isn't enough.

We might very well beat Everton. But the boom-bust cycle will only continue a few weeks later.

Coleman, Digne & Rodriguez all back for Everton according to Ancelotti, however they will miss Richarlison a bit

He’s been our best defender since joining the club (which tells us how lumpy our defence is).. but okay!

I agree with the team selection though. Pogba and Maguire should be nowhere near starting XI.
Take that captaincy from Maguire and give it to Bruno och Rashy while we’re at it.

I think Ole's knack of pulling out a win when it all seems done and dusted won't come true this time.

Ancellotii and Everton will be licking their lips at the prospect of playing us. Tennis score beckons.

Also Ole's Last game for us unfortunately.

First real test. If he wins he will be the manager for rest of the season.

Agree with this. All he has to do is sit deep, have two defensive midfielders in Doucoure an Allan and we're done. Best I can see is a draw

I'd personally like to see this. Back to the front 3, asking them to create some sort of width with Pogba behind Martial. Have 2 clear routes towards the goal and I'd expect VDB to be tidy in possession and Fred to do his job in breaking play.

I fear for Maguire against DCL though.

I think we'll go on to the main lineup Ole seems to trust the most :

    De Gea
    AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw
    Fred - Scott
    Bruno
    Greenwood - Martial - Rashford.

    My prediction is 1-1.

Richarlison is actually a huge loss for them. They’ve lost every PL game he has missed (I think it’s 7) — the drop in quality between him and Andre Gomes/Sigurdsson who both played vs Newcastle is massive.

Lindelof in for Maguire if hes fit. Pogba has to be on the bench.

Alternatively I think a 3 at the back could work equally well here, assuming Telles is back:

    DDG
    Tuanzebe - Maguire - Shaw
    AWB - VDB - Fred - Telles
    Bruno
    Martial - Rashford / Cavani

I think the lads will rebound here as we often do when Ole is under pressure and dig out a decent win. My moneys would be on 2-0 with a penalty making an appearance.

Either way its beginning to look like Ole might not be the right man going forward. We can't continue the boom and bust cycle indefinitely and I dont think the squad is really the problem anymore, at least not to the extent it has been the previous few seasons. We've got a good group here now.

Shame really as we all no doubt wanted it to work out - players included.

That second team is what I went for in the predictor. Rashford starts by the way, maybe between Martial and Cavani for the other one.

Apparently most of our side is going to be back apart from Richarlison. If we were playing anyone else I’d feel confident but now you’ve had two really bad losses it’s nailed on for you to win. :o

is right. There isn’t a forward in the league that can match his work rate (offensively and defensively).

There's a problem here. United always win when Ole's job is in question so alot of people are expecting us to win. But we always play bad when people are expecting us to win. Would end in a tie

We have seen this before. We will win this. We will always turn up after the bad results & form as well as when media write us off. We never turn up when we are so favourite in our good form.
