Started the weekend off horribly - Bruno 3 points, 0 points from Jota and Pulisic.

Son was my star performer with 5 points but then Maddison and Pope came through last night with 11 and 16 points each plus Justin and DCL came off the bench with a further 16 points combined. Overall 70 points in the end.

Need to replace Jota though, not sure who I can find who is even close to his production at his price.

Doubt it will be a 0-0 to be honest. Liverpool defense has been a bit crap, the Spurs can attack can possibly get one past that backline. Matip again got injured which means some youngster will probably play as a CB. But again it's Mou and he can go in with a purely negative setup. They will surely still counter with Kane and Son, and Liverpool will also attack. Gut feeling says it might be a high scoring game especially with Liverpool going for the win being at home as well.
This is Mourinho at Anfield.

The chances of it being high scoring are slim. I don't think Spurs will be involved in many high scoring games for the rest of the season. It looks to me like they moved into the low energy grind it out phase.

At other tough away venues I'd agree but this is Liverpool who will throw their midfield and fullbacks forward especially as they are playing catch up, with their CBs being a bit undermanned. That should give enough space to Kane, Son, Reguillon etc to get some runs forward and find spaces.

The high scoring part is just a gut feel, where it could be one of those crazy games where one team gets a lot of chances early on and scores 2-3 goals like it has happened in such fixtures in the past, but more to the initial point I doubt it would be a 0-0 as I think Liverpool would want to win and that should give chances for both teams. Of course now watch Jose to show us just how much of a game destroying bitch he can be.

I've taken another gamble bringing in Barkley who may not be fit for Villa's next game against Burnley. Also considering to captain Foden (yes, I still have him) as I'm a little worried that Bruno and/or KDB may be given a rest and surely Foden has to start.

I've still got my wildcard to use so I'm only looking at the next one or two gameweeks.

I really can't get going. Every gameweek has been decent lately but I have barely caught up in my league after poor start. 63 this weekend which was fine until Vardy and Justin hauled which allowed everyone else to catch up.

I have done two transfer this week already doing Jota and Adams out for Bowen and Watkins but thinking about moving Bellerin for Dier before his price inevitably goes down. Not entirely sure though as that'd be essentially taking -4 hit for 0.1m difference... and my team value is at 105.5m already so not sure if I need any more money. Will definitely want to water down some of the bench to accumulate funds for other improvements. Current team is:

Martinez McCarthy
Chilwell Dias Bellerin Vestergaard Cresswell
Salah Bruno Son Grealish Bowen
DCL Watkins Bamford

With 1.8m in the bank. I do have significant flexibility here which should help me in the second half of season but being 150 points behind leader in my league makes me very uncomfortable I must say. Still lots of games left and his team is basically Kane, KDB, Salah, Son, Robertson, Bamford and a bunch of relatively uninspiring players so I do have a chance I think. In midfield his complimentary pieces are Klich and Riedewald, in defence he has KWP, Justin, Robertson and then two non-playing fodders so that's a paper thin team really that is relying on Kane, KDB and Robertson getting him over me... and KDB v Bruno basically nullify each other if not give me advantage. 2nd place is more of a worry for me because he's 100 ahead of me with EXACT same front 7 (only difference Mendy v Bowen) but probably weaker defense (Ayling, KWP, Justin, Lamptey, Mitchell vs Chilwell, Dias, Bellerin, Vestergaard, Cresswell).

Bowen anyone?
Strongly considered it, especially due to West Ham's blank GW18 and double in GW19, but went Soucek in the end, although I may well bench him this week - it is either him, Konsa or Bednarek. Bednarek was set to be my first sub next week, but them playing Arsenal feels like a possible clean sheet. Arsenal have failed to score in 6 of their last 8 and even against us it was only a penalty.

The funds that Soucek frees up will be useful to move Kilman on next week possibly and give me a bit more wiggle room for when I will likely want both Son and Kane in for GW16.

I see KDB getting a rest is this weeks Salah (getting a rest). Stop doing it to yourselves. KDB has not been playing in Europe for a while. He's been getting his rest there.

Didn't save my subs so ziyech was in the team instead of salah. Lamptey not playing though means I get 6 from Romeu. Finished on 81

Yeah these guys are pretty nailed. Kevin vs WBA seems a banker. They'd look to blow off some steam after the derby and at Etihad they would generally cruise against these teams. Plus Kevin is doing all their attacks.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
Think I'll ditch Sterling (not great form and baldy rotates) and Pulisic which with 0.1 spare, gives me 19.7m.

Can't see two swaps that use it all, so looking at Salah and Bowen (form and fixtures.. once Liverpool past Spurs), then use the 1m next week.

My two poor players are Ayling (loads of options upto 5.5m) and Mendy (swap for Klich or Soucek... probably latter)

??

I've got 5.5million in the bank.

Martinez (Ryan)

Justin, Chillwell, KWP, Konsa, Mitchell

Salah, Fernandez, Fornals, Souciek, Barkley

DCL, Kane, Brewster

I was planning to upgrade one of Fornals or Barkley to KDB, but I have a mild suspicion that he may be rested given City have Soton on Saturday.
The only teams who a string of decent fixtures is us and City though. It's tricky.

Not so sure he will get rested. Pep tried that last season and basically went almost out of the titlerace, hence played him ever since in league games. They could well lose points without him

They may manage his minutes if they're up 2-0 or something like that but he'll likely start. He gets his rest during UCL. Don't overthink it.

Guys - Thoughts on bringing KDB for Salah just for this week??
Either one is not bad choice.

I opt to go with keeping Salah but that's just me. I think Pool will go all out attacking Spurs defense and get a penalty at most. KDB instead... I just don't trust City this season. They're way off. Something feels off, it's like they don't bother or something. But then it's against West Brom, a shit team supposedly but somewhat interesting results vs the top teams this season.

West Brom vs..
L 0-3 Leicester
D 3-3 Chelsea
L 0-1 Spurs
L 0-1 United

Take that as you will :) maybe City will do better... or maybe not. High chance City will win of course but how many goals is the question.

Was tempted to do this myself.

But wasn't sure whether KDB would be rested. And ideally I'd like to roll the transfer - I think it's a wise strategy this season to try and do so where possible.
True, that is also a possibility, with Pep.
But I'm very confident Pep will play him because.. he had to considering their PL position at the moment and KDB is their most reliable player in attack.

Hoping the KDB Bruno Salah Grealish midfield 4 kicks in this week after a false start.

Bamford Watkins DCL up front.

Need a big week.

Think I'll hold off transfers and then have more scope if i need to do decent surgery next week. Tottenham coverage maybe.

I have the exact same front three with 3 of the 4 behind them. Only difference is I have Son and Bowen instead of KDB.

I want Mahrez in my midfield but also Kane up front when their good fixtures list kicks in towards the end of year. I will have to do some flexing to get it done I guess.. Bruno, DCL, Grealish, Son pretty much untouchable + I don’t want any fodders in my squad except maybe 1 defender.

Decided to leave Kane and Son, although a blank will probably see me undo a lot of the points I’ve gained back over the last two weeks. Used my two subs to fix issues with squad players instead, meaning I should have over Christmas. I still have Mitchell, but will have enough cash to upgrade him if desperate.

Not sure whether to start Adams or Soucek, leaning towards Soucek, but maybe that’s just because Arsenal are usually better than they’re playing right now.

Got the captaincy on Bruno right now, but mainly because I don’t like it when my mini league rival captains him and I don’t.

Get Bruno in for a hit worth it? Since I am going with captain De Bruyne I am not sure if he is worth it.
Selling Robertson make sense though since he is expensive and been pretty poor, but I don't trust any of the cheap guys to be that good.

Jota has to go either way. Thinking Grealish. Basically it is Grealish plus Robertson vs Stones plus Bruno (-4).

Got 82 points in the end, chuffed.

Not sure what to do if anything with my team. No City attacker is a worry but I would have to destroy my team to get KDB in.
Team is:
Martinez
Chilwell / Justin / Dias
Salah / Fernandes (C) / Son / Soucek
Vardy / DCL / Adams

Bench - Robertson (may take him out to raise funds for next week)

Thanks to captain spot for Salah, got a decent 52.
Though got completely ruined by my mini-league mate having Maddison and Vardy.

Contemplating Stones and Martinez in for Guaita and Lamptey. Have the exact money to do it. Would mean captaining Bruno as no KDB.

Think I'll sleep on it.

Is Lamptey worth keeping on bench or should I sell?
And I have only 0.1M in the bank, meaning if I need to get in a player, I have only 4.8M. Any suggestions?

I already have Bednarek. Is Stones worth bringing or Konsa?

So I dropped 500k places after my terrible risky hit but this is the game week I'm hoping that it pays off.

I've captained Sterling. I really hope I'm signing in with happy posts this evening.

Good luck to everyone and remember the deadline is 4:30 GMT.

My bench for this week:
Dallas VS Newcastle (home)
Lamptey VS Fulham (away)
Soucek VS Palace (home)

Some nice fixtures in there. Worth a bench boost? Unfortunately no backup GK.

I have Lamptey and aren't starting him..so took a second look at the fixtures wondering why I'm not starting him home to Fulham!
But they are away.

Jota out but who in?
I downgraded to Anguissa to free up funds for elsewhere. Haven’t decided where I’m going to use the additional funds yet but I have a solid front 7 without Jota so Anguissa is just on my bench.

I’ll probably try and get Salah in for Mahrez after this game week but I’ll have to take a hit and downgrade Van Aanholt to a 3.9 defender, but unsure if this is a good idea as I also have Kilman at the moment too, so Anguissa would be my only playing sub and 2 non starter defenders so it’s very risky

Martinez
Zouma - Chilwell - Walker Peters - Cancelo
Kdb - Salah - Bruno - Grealish
Vardy - Bamford

It's gonna be a juicy round

Need an advice for captaincy as I dont have KDB or Salah. Grealish, Son/Kane, Bruno or Vardy?
Bruno. Yet to blank away from home since he joined the league, four consecutive double figure haul away from home this season, yet to blank in two consecutive games since he came the league - blanked last game.
